Please read carefully. Be sure to use the specified battery and power source provided by Health o meter Professional Scales. Connection to an improper power source may cause fire, explosion or damage to the printer. Do not put the battery into fire or water. Do not disassemble or modify the battery as this may result in fire or injury. If the printer will not be used for some time, be sure to take out the battery to prevent corrosion. If improper operation causes battery leak and liquid leaks onto clothes or skin, wash with water immediately. If spattered in the eyes, please rinse them with water thoroughly and see a doctor. Do not open the paper room cover when it is printing or immediately after printing is complete. Do not touch the print head with hand or body as it will be hot immediately after printing. Do not store the printer in hot and humid conditions. If the battery has not been used for several months, it is possible that the battery will not recharge. The printer’s battery charger is to be connected to a stable power supply of 110-220 volts. Do not use other devices on the same power socket to avoid voltage fluctuations. Do not put the printer near water. If water comes in contact with the printer, turn off the power immediately. Ensure that a thermal printer roll is always inserted in the printer to avoid damaging the printing roller and the printer head. Use only with the battery charger provided with this printer. To ensure print quality and longevity of your printer, please use only good quality thermal paper rolls. BLUETOOTHONE-P DISPOSAL This Health o meter® Professional product must be disposed of properly. Follow the national, regional or local regulations which apply to you for disposal of domestic waste. 3 PACKAGE CONTENTS To avoid damaging the BLUETOOTHONE-P when unpacking it, do not use a box cutter, knife, scissors or any sharp object when opening the protective inner packaging. If damage is found, contact your shipper or a Health o meter® Professional representative immediately. Claims must be filed with the shipper as soon as possible after receipt of the package. The following information details what you will find inside the carton as you unpack the parts for assembly. Set the carton aside for storage. USB cable) 1 3 Note: Color and shape of the AC to USB wall power adapter may vary 2 4 4 SET UP INSTRUCTIONS Note: If multiple printers were purchased, do not mix and match the Bluetooth adapters (blue box) and printers. Each printer has been paired to communicate with a specific adapter. 1. Plug one end of the SCALE CABLE (1 ft. USB cable) into the scale USB port and the other end into the “TO SCALE” USB port on the HOMBT-P Scale Unit. 2. Separate the 2 halves of the Velcro adhesive affixed to the HOMBT-P Scale unit. Peel off the protective backing on free side of the Velcro and attach it to the scale. Then Velcro the HOMBT-P unit to the scale. 5 SET UP INSTRUCTIONS 3. Connect AC to USB Wall Power Adapter on the end of the 6 ft. POWER CABLE, and then connect the USB end of the POWER CABLE to the HOMBT-P Scale Unit “Power In” USB Port. (Note: This provides power to the HOMBT-P Scale Unit) 4. Connect the AC to USB Wall Power Adapter to a wall power outlet as shown in the following figure. Or if a Powered USB 2.0 Port or Powered USB 2.0 Hub is available within the electrical outlet, connect the USB cable to the port/hub. Scale USB Port TO SCALE HOMBT-P Scale Unit SCALE UNIT - Connected to scale by adhesive label with Velcro® POWER IN - Connected to AC to USB Wall Power Adapter 6 SET UP INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED) Powering the Printer Plug the battery charger into the printer and charge for a minimum of 10 hours to completely charge the battery. Note: Charger will not power the printer without the battery installed. Installing the Paper The printer uses 58MM thermal paper with a maximum roll diameter of 40mm. 1. Open the printer top cover. 2. Insert the paper roll with the end extending from the bottom, not over the top of the roll. 3. Pull a small amount of paper outside the printer, then close the top cover. Press the feed button to feed more paper out of the printer. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Turn the printer on by holding down the power button for multiple seconds until the blue light appears. 2. Press the ON/OFF button on the scale to power the scale on. 3. Wait until ‘0.0’ and ‘Zero’ appear on the scale’s display. 4. Ask the patient to step on the scale. The scale will begin to display weight information and will lock on the patient’s weight when the stable weight of the patient is determined. Depending on the movement of the patient on the scale, it may take several seconds for the scale to lock onto the weight. 5. Once weight measurement locks the printer will begin printing. 6. To print height and BMI data, follow the BMI calculation procedure for your scale model. When the scale calculates the BMI measurement the printer will print weight, height and BMI data. Have the patient remain on the scale until the printer is done printing. Note: For the 600KL model, press the SEND button to begin printing (weight, height and BMI data will print). 7 WARRANTY Limited Warranty What does the Warranty Cover? ® This Health o meter Professional product is warranted from date of purchase against defects of materials or in workmanship for a period of one (1) year. If product fails to function properly, return the product, freight prepaid and properly packed to Pelstar, LLC (see “To Get Warranty Service”, below, for instructions). If the manufacturer determines that a defect of material or in workmanship exists, the customer’s sole remedy will be replacement of the product at no charge. Replacement will be made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the product is no longer available, replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or greater value. All replaced parts are covered only for the original warranty period. Who is Covered? The original purchaser of the product must have proof of purchase to receive warranty service. Please save your invoice or receipt. Pelstar dealers or retail stores selling Pelstar products do not have the right to alter, or modify or in any way change the terms and conditions of this warranty. What is Excluded? Your warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following: negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to the operating instructions, abuse including tampering, damage in transit, or unauthorized repair or alternations. Further, the warranty does not cover natural disasters, such as fire, flood, hurricanes and tornadoes. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from country to country, state to state, province to province or jurisdiction to jurisdiction. To get Warranty Service make sure you keep your sales receipt or document showing proof of purchase.
