Buyer’s Guide
7000 Coral Way, Miami, FL 33155
The Honda Fit seems to have it all. A responsive yet efficient engine, plenty of cargo room, and even a sizeable list of modern
technologies. So, it’s no wonder why so many drivers from across the country can’t wait to get behind the wheel and drive one for
But before you can go zooming off into the sunset, you have a number of choices you’ll need to make, like which trim level you
prefer and how to personalize your new ride with specially made accessories. Fear not, eager driver, because we’ll cover all that and
more during the course of this eBook.
Before we dive into paint colors and upgraded body kits, let’s take a closer look at what comes standard when you purchase a 2017
Honda Fit.
Standard Features for Every Fit
No matter which version of the 2017 Fit you choose, there are certain features and technologies that you’re guaranteed to receive.
Below, you’ll find a list of some of the incredible features that come standard across all 2017 Honda Fit trim levels.
The 2017 Honda Fit comes equipped with an efficient direct injection engine. Providing an impressive 130 horsepower, this
4-cylinder engine features an Eco Assist™ System, along with Eco Coaching. Together, these help the Honda engine run more
efficiently by teaching drivers fuel-efficient driving behaviors.
Climb into the cabin of any 2017 Honda Fit, and you’ll find spacious seating for up to five passengers. Just how spacious, you ask?
How does 41.4 inches of legroom in the front row and 39.3 inches of legroom in the second row sound? That’s plenty of room for
passengers to sit comfortably and relax, especially during longer trips.
On top of that, you’ll enjoy 52.7 cubic feet of maximum cargo volume for those times you promise to help your friend move. Or, use
the 16.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat for everyday adventures to the beach, camping, tailgating, or wherever else
your Fit takes you.
When it comes to safety, the 2017 Honda Fit doesn’t take shortcuts. Every trim includes a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera with
Guidelines for backing in and out of difficult parking spaces. Use the normal, top-down, and wide views to monitor what’s behind you.
Speaking of monitoring, the Honda Fit also comes standard with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. With this, you’ll be notified
when one of the four tires becomes significantly low. Helping you to increase control even further is the standard Brake Assist, which
optimizes braking pressure during emergency situations.
If the Honda Fit is unable to avoid a collision, you’ll be happy to know that the Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body
structure comes standard across all 2017 trims. This exceptional safety feature helps to absorb collision energies and improves
passenger protection in the event of an accident.
Although your daily commute to and from the office might not be the highlight of your day, it can be more enjoyable with the right
entertainment. To liven up your drive, the Honda Fit has standard Bluetooth® streaming audio which, when paired with a compatible
mobile device, puts virtually limitless music possibilities at your fingertips. Don’t have a Bluetooth®-capable device? Then, you’ll be glad
to know that the Honda Fit also comes with a USB audio interface.
Plus, with speed-sensitive volume control, you never have to worry about adjusting the volume every time traffic picks back up or slows
down. And when you need to make a phone call, just use the Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® system to dial or answer calls without having
to take your hands off the steering wheel.
Choosing the Trim That Fits You Best
So, now you know more about which features come standard on all 2017 Honda Fit vehicles, but what about the available trim levels?
The 2017 Fit comes in three trims: LX, EX, and EX-L. Each one is designed to group features and provide different levels of affordability
so every driver can choose the Fit that’s right for them.
Let’s take a closer look at what additional features you’ll get at each Honda Fit trim level.
Honda Fit LX
The 2017 Honda Fit LX comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, although a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with
Sport mode is available. You’ll also receive 15-inch wheels with all-season tires.
This trim level has the most available front-row headroom at 39.5 inches, but the least second-row headroom at 37.5 inches; however,
the differences of both are only a fraction of an inch. On the other hand, the LX offers the most passenger volume with 95.7 cubic feet.
When it comes to entertainment, you’ll find a 4-speaker system with 160 watts of power and a CD player.
Honda Fit EX
The EX trim is the next level up in the Honda Fit family. While it also comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, the available
CVT now offers dual-mode paddle shifters for manual-like control over gear shifting. Another difference is the 16-inch alloy tires that
replace the 15-inch tires on the base trim.
Headroom in the front row is set at 38 inches, while rear-seat passengers can enjoy 37.6 inches of headroom. Meanwhile, passenger
volume is 93.8 cubic feet, which is still roomy enough for five passengers to sit comfortably.
The rearview camera on the Honda Fit EX gets an upgrade, now featuring Dynamic Guidelines. These guidelines adjust to show the
steered path as the driver moves the steering wheel. This makes it easier for you to judge your distance from nearby objects and your
steering path. You’ll also receive a 1-touch power moonroof, a smart entry system, and fog lights.
The EX trim helps to make driving easier, thanks to its standard push-button start and Honda LaneWatch™ system. Honda
LaneWatch™ uses a small video camera on the passenger side mirror to send a live video feed of the right lane, so you can change
lanes with more confidence.
In terms of audio and entertainment, the 2017 Honda Fit EX has a number of upgrades, including:
• Pandora® compatibility
• SMS Text Message Function
• 180-Watt 6-speaker sound system
• 7-Inch touchscreen display
HondaLink® Next Generation is also featured. This pairs your compatible smartphone to the car’s infotainment system for improved
Honda Fit EX-L
The EX-L is the top trim of the Honda Fit family. This trim level includes all of the available features and systems listed above. It’s
also the only trim level to come standard with a CVT, as well as dual-mode paddle shifters and Sport mode. Plus, the EX-L includes
integrated turn indicators in the power side mirrors.
However, many of the differences found in the Honda Fit EX-L have to do with passenger comfort and technology. For instance, the
EX-L comes standard with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. It also features leather-trimmed seats and an available
navigation system. For drivers who choose the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™, they’ll enjoy voice recognition, HD
Radio™, SiriusXM® Radio, and Honda HD Digital Traffic.
Extras & Accessories
Genuine Honda accessories are covered by a 3-Year/36,000-Mile Warranty when installed at the time of purchase, and they’re a terrific
way to add a personal touch to your Honda Fit.
For the exterior, 16-inch machine finish alloy wheels can give your Fit a more aggressive and sleek appearance, while body side
molding can lower the vehicle’s overall profile. Complete the sporty look by installing the sport-inspired front grille or protect your rear
bumper with a bumper appliqué.
Interior accessories, like the adjustable cargo net or cargo organizer, also offer a level of customization and organization, especially in
the back-storage area. If your cargo needs are notoriously messy, you might want to opt for the durable cargo tray or a cargo liner to
protect the carpeting. If you’re more worried about looks around the rest of the cabin, check out the available interior illumination and
door sill trim illumination options.
Whether you’re always on the go, or like to warm up the engine before you drive, the Remote Engine Start System is one accessory
that every kind of driver will enjoy. This convenient feature allows you to start the Honda Fit from up to 400 feet away and activates the
auto climate control setting to a comfortable 72 degrees.
Should You Finance or Lease?
Although the title of this eBook is the 2017 Honda Fit Buyer’s Guide, it’s possible that you might not be totally set on buying the Honda
Fit. Instead, maybe you’re thinking about leasing the vehicle before you buy it. Both options have their benefits, and in the end, it’s
completely up to you to decide which best fits your needs.
If you’re going to lease the 2017 Honda Fit, you’ll want to talk to your local Honda dealer about their leasing agreements. The leasing
agreement specifies how long you’ll lease the vehicle, how many miles you’ll be allotted, and more. You’ll also agree on a monthly lease
payment, which is typically much lower than if you had financed the vehicle. Then, when your leasing term is up, you can choose to
purchase the vehicle, return it, or start a new lease.
Financing, on the other hand, requires a few additional considerations. First, you need to acquire a loan, which can be done through the
finance department at your local Honda dealer. The dealership’s financial team will take into consideration any down payment or tradein vehicle value and apply it to the price of the Honda Fit before helping you apply for a loan.
Once you’re approved for a loan, you’ll be able to purchase the vehicle. You’ll be required to make monthly installments to pay back the
loan plus any agreed-upon interest. The vehicle is now yours to do with as you please, with no mileage restrictions or guidelines. You
can even sell it if you’d like, though we know you won’t want to—at least, not for a long time.
To learn more about the 2017 Honda Fit and how you can get behind the wheel of one today, contact your local Honda dealer and
schedule a test drive.
