* Replacement cartridge yields are based on ISO/IEC 24711
tests in Default Mode printing continuously. Cartridge
yields vary considerably for reasons including images
printed, print settings, temperature and humidity. Yields
may be lower when printing infrequently or predominantly
with one ink color. All ink colors are used for printing and
printer maintenance, and all colors have to be installed for
printing. For print quality, part of the ink from the included
cartridges is used for printer startup and a variable amount
of ink remains in the cartridges after the “replace cartridge”
signal.

2-Sided Printing is Slow
For 2-sided printing, one side of the paper is printed and dried, and then the other side is
printed. Because the
drying time differs depending on the environment, such as temperature or humidity, or the print
data, the printing speed may be slower.
110
No Staple Options
Q: Why can’t I see the staples options in the driver?
A: You need to activate the Finisher the printers properties> Optional Settings> Settings
Select High Capacity Tray and Finisher Unit
111
No Staple Options
Finisher must be activated in the driver properties
Output Tray needs to be on Auto Select or Finisher Tray.
112
Why am I not able to print 100ppm?
A number of factors can influence the WF-C20590’s print speed.
1. 100ppm print speed is only supported in the facedown output tray of the main unit.
2. Low humidity and/or high temperatures may increase the frequency of ink flushing to
maintain print head nozzle performance. Speed may drop to about 86ppm.
3. Heavy ink coverage, ink density, and using small margins (less than 9mm) while
duplex printing may require extra drying time before the printer prints on the reverse side
of a page. This is necessary to prevent paper jams and/or print quality issues due to
contacting the print head surface. In extreme cases, this can be up to 60 seconds.
4. Jobs that normally should print at 100ppm will print at a reduced speed if sent while
the printer was printing a job that caused a reduced speed. When this happens, printer
cannot resume faster printing. You will need to interrupt the printing by pressing the
Interrupt button or wait until the slower job is finished printing or paper has run out. Then,
when printing resumes, the printer will be able to perform at maximum speed.

FAQ
•
•
Q: When I insert a copy into the ADF, it is not detected, what do I do?
A: If there is too much paper curl, then the ADF sensor may not able to detect
your copy. Please make sure your copy is as flat as possible before loading it
into the ADF.
•
Q: A Printer Error 031008 occurs whenever we turn on the product, what
do I do?
A: This error may occur if the printer detects too much dew condensation. This
should be very rare and only caused due to quick changes in temperature and
humidity. Please turn off the printer and wait 30 minutes before turning the
printer back on to give it time to acclimate to the environment. If the error
continues to happen, please contact Epson support.
•
•
•
Q: Printing PDFs from a USB flash drive is slow.
A: The printer’s CPU is not as powerful as most modern computers and some
complex documents will be difficult to process. Please consider printing these
files from a computer instead.
114
FAQ
•
•
Q: The orientation of my copies is incorrect, what do I do?
A: This product supports both landscape and portrait orientation for many paper
sizes. Make sure the orientation of the Paper Setting and Original Size match
each other.
To make things easier, you may wish to make the Original Size default setting to be
Auto Detect. To change this, do the following:
• If necessary, press the Home button.
• Press Settings > User Settings > Copy Settings > Original Size
• Choose Auto Detect
• Press Home and then Copy and try copying again with the new default copy
settings.

FAQ
•
•
•
•
•
Q: When I print on long custom paper sizes, the print speed is much
slower than normal.
A: Because products limited memory, all custom paper sizes that exceed
483mm (19in) will automatically use the following settings, regardless of what
was selected in the driver:
Plain Paper
Standard Quality (600x1200)
¼ of printer’s speed.
