Proper Matching of PTO
A Power Take-Off must be properly matched to the vehicle transmission and to the auxiliary equipment being powered. An improperly
matched P.T.O. could cause severe damage to the vehicle transmission, the auxiliary driveshaft, and/or the auxiliary equipment being
powered. Damaged components or equipment could malfunction causing serious personal injury to the vehicle operator or to others
nearby. Always refer to Chelsea catalogs, literature, and owner’s manuals, and follow Chelsea recommendations when selecting,
installing, repairing, or operating a PTO.
Mechanical Shifted Units
The mechanical shifted power take-offs such as the 442 Series family is engineered to work with virtually
all existing transmission applications today. There are many advantages to these units from a removal
shift cover to establish correct backlash during installation, greaseable output shafts that help solve fretting
corrosion problems, and a positive shift engagement. With a wide selection of shift, speed ratios, and output
options, that can be easily converted to meet your needs, these units are a true workhorse for most vehicle
applications either with air brakes or without, manual or automatic transmissions.
Powershift Units
Chelsea Powershift PTOs deliver clash free shifts whether the vehicle is stationary or on the move.
Constant mesh input gears and specially designed clutch packs make these PTOs ideal for applications
that demand frequent PTO shifting, such as refuse vehicles. These units are available with over seven of
today’s most popular pump mounting flanges, Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) to protect driven
equipment from over-speeding, and pressure lubrication for heavy duty applications. Fixed compression
gasket eliminates setting of backlash and reduces installation time. Special low profile housing designs
for vehicle interference issues are also available making the Chelsea Powershift PTOs a very wise selection
for today’s demanding applications.

The 1000 and 2000 series PTO’s have been
engineered to work with the most common
transmissions in today’s market. Offered in a
wide range of input gear, ratio, output, and
shifter options, these all cast iron PTO’s
include large 12mm flange bolts, which make
for a very sturdy and durable pump mount,
supporting some of the larger pumps in the
market. Both of these models are also available
in a deep mount 1010 and 2010 series.
3100 and 3250 series are 10 bolt hotshift PTO’s
for the Allison World Series transmissions as well
as the new Caterpillar CX series. These PTO’s
have seven ratio options, a wide variety of
outputs, and either electric over hydraulic or
air shift options. The 3250 series is a low profile
version of the 3100 for tight mounting spaces on
certain truck chassis. The 3150 is the constant
mesh option of this series.
3200 Series
This versatile 6 bolt hotshift PTO is designed
for the 1000/2000 Allison transmission family,
Asian automatics and a wide range of manual
transmissions. The 3200 series is offered with
multiple ratios and outputs, as well as electric
over hydraulic and air shift options.
3900/3920 Series
Our 3900 and 3920 series PTO’s have been
designed for the Ford F- Series Torqueshift
transmissions. Both PTO’s have both a direct
as well as a remote mount output option.
4000 Series
One of Bezares’ most popular products, the
4000 series PTO is a very compact, heavy duty,
high torque, eight bolt PTO that was design at
an economical price. It has a wide variety of
ratio and output options as well as an
integrated air shift cover for extra durability.
4200 Series
The 4200 series PTO is a market exclusive
dual output eight bolt heavy duty PTO. This unit
has two independently air operated outputs,
with a variety of ratio and output combinations.
This PTO is very versatile for many applications
where two PTO’s are needed and only one
opening is availible
Bezares currently manufactures and offers
nine different PTO options to fit these specific
transmissions around the world. Models include
our standard 116003, a hot shift, a heavy duty,
a single gear, and a triple output PTO amongst
others. All of these PTO’s are available with
any SAE or DIN output options.
The Model 6013399 Split Shaft PTO is
designed to provide up to two 6 bolt PTO
mounting apertures for light to medium duty
vehicles that may not have the PTO option or
are limited to one opening. This split shaft may
also offer the ability to pull more torque and
horsepower than a transmission mounted PTO
may be capable of providing. A wide range of
Bezares PTO’s can be installed on the openings
with the full range of PTO options. The PTO’s
and split shaft have the options of being shifted
pneumatically, mechanically or hydraulically.

speeds based upon the
input shaft speed.
901211 Series
Selector Valve
Selector valve 901211 is a two position, two
selector valve that offers a simple means of
directing oil flow into two separate hydraulic
circuits. It is air operated with an open center
in neutral position. Max flow 65 gpm, maximum
pressure 5000 psi.
9030890 Series
Hi/Low Hydraulic Valve
The 9030890 valve is an air operated dual
pressure tippingvalve with two independent
operating pressures. This valve is a perfect fit
for a walking floor and dump combination,
or even a standard dump body when ordered
without the HP option. At a fraction of the
cost of other options.45 gpm rated and
maximum pressure 5000 psi.

TG Series Powerflex™ PTO
Our first major new product, the TG Series, has had a major impact on
the PTO market in North America, with others emulating the features
and benefits of the design. The TG Series is the industries’ most
popular and versatile PTO design, and is still the heart of the Muncie
PTO product family. The TG’s flexibility permits a wide variety of
PTO/transmission applications, and wide gear design permits torque
capacity for most truck equipment applications.
Clutch Shift PTOs
Clutch Shift PTOs provide the ability to engage and disengage the PTO
without disengaging the vehicle’s clutch. They can be designed for
both manual and automatic transmissions and are the preferred type
of PTO for automatics. Muncie offers clutch style PTOs for SAE standard
PTO openings as well as providing application specific models such
as the FA and GM products.
FA SERIES
The FA Series PTO was designed in cooperation
with Ford Motor Company for the 1999 and newer Super
Duty chassis equipped with the 4R100 automatic transmission. The FA62 two wheel drive and FA64 four wheel
drive mount on the driver’s side, offer a variety of direct
mounted hydraulic pumps. The PTOs are shipped complete with in-dash activation controls and transmission
temperature gauge as well as a complete wiring harness.

The CS6 & CS8 Series PTOs are built for SAE standard
6 and 8 bolt opernings. A wide variety of gears allow
the use of this PTO on manual transmissions

f series gear pump
The F Series is the smallest of the gear pump family. It is designed with sleevetype bushings and an aluminum housing to provide high performance in a compact, lightweight package. The F Series is available in a number of configurations
for special low flow applications or for general duty.
k/l series gear pump
Both K & L Series pumps are constructed for maximum versatility. These pumps are offered with SAE 2
& 4 bolt “B” mounting patterns and a variety of shafts
as well as foot-mounted flanges. Standard pumps
can be used as either a pump or hydraulic motor with
side an rear ports machined into the housings.
EOS-110 Overspeed Switch
The EOS-110 disengages auxiliary power equipment
PTOs and pumps - when an excessive operating
speed is reached. It automatically re-engages
equipment when engine is reduced to a safe speed.
This allows full operator control within predetermined
limits. Speeds can be adjusted from 300 RPM to
3000 RPMs. Easily adaptable to any gasoline or
diesel engine. No mechanical connections are required.

The H Series is most commonly used as the basis for our clutch pump product
line, but is also offered in a variety of direct mount SAE “A” or remote mount
configurations. The H Series is built with a cast iron housing and long life sleeve
type bearings.

of the engine. Kits are available for most popular engine/chassis
combinations with either v-belt or poly groove compatibility.

Refuse & Specialty Gear Pumps

These products can be driven from the engine
crankshaft or by a PTO. Each provides hydraulic
power at the flip of a switch. In the “off” mode, pumps
receive only enough oil for lubrication purposes,
saving the cost of moving fluid through the system
when not in use.
mlsm live pak system
The MLSM Live Pak system is designed for
start and stop refuse collection equipment.
The system does not shut off the pump at
high RPM and provides flows up to the maximum
allowed for the equipment without interruption.
This allows for minimum cycle times, increasing
the number of collections per shift.
MOBILE POWER

Two types of directional valves can be used: Open-Center valves (CFO)
and Closed-Center valves (CFC). The two types of valves give completely
different control characteristics.
CFO valves are intended for applications in which simple, uncomplicated
components are required, and where the demands for simultaneous operation
characteristics are moderate. CFC valves are intended for applications in
which the demands on control characteristics are great, while at the same time,
a system with a fixed pump is required.
Parker valves can be obtained with a large number of optional
components and mountings such as:
 A main pressure relief
 Individually adjusted port relief and anti-cavitation valves
 Separate replenishing valves with counterpressure valves
 Application adapted spools and/or a large selection of spool actuators
 Single or multi-pump operation by stacked valves
 Subplate, stackable, or manifold styles
 Load hold checks - crossover reliefs - flow controls - power beyond feature

 E-stop, pump channel blocked in emergency - valve options vary

 Load Sensing
The directional control valve: In the load sense system, the directional control
valve regulates the displacement of a variable displacement pump via a load
signal line. The pump maintains a pressure difference between its outlet port
and the highest load signal to supply pressure and flow to match the demand.
These systems are the most advanced, offering optimum control characteristics
with good efficiency/fuel economy.

The P300 Series pumps are available in single, multiple, piggyback, and thru-drive
assemblies. Multiple pumps reduce mounting costs, allow for a small package size
and common inlet capabilities. Assemblies up to six pumping sections are available.
Piggyback pumps allow the combination of pump sections of different frame size
to use a common inlet in tandem configuration. The thru-drive feature allows an
independent piston or gear pump to be mounted to a rear SAE drive pad.
Multiple section motors are also available providing enhanced torque and speed
control as well as smooth torque ripple.
The P400 Series of high pressure, fixed displacement gear pumps are available
in single and multiple assemblies. These units are rated for service up to 4500 psi.
They’re available in three models offering you a displacement range from 1.5 to
5.5 CIR. These units are cast from high-strength iron which provides the structural
integrity needed at high pressures. Gear widths have been selected to keep shaft
deflections and bearing loads within acceptable design limits. Body seals have been
strengthened and the fastener pre-load increased to assure reliability
under high pressure conditions.

Versa-Pak Refuse
Flow Control/Unloader:
This system allows a preset amount of flow to the
hydraulic system with the excess flow being returned
to tank; this function protects the system’s main relief
valve from being flooded. In addition, the priority type pressure
compensated flow control minimizes heat generation by returning unused oil back to
tank at only a few hundred PSI more than system pressure.
Bushing Series
257 and 360 series
These two are becoming more popular in
the refuse market; bushing units typically
have higher pressure ratings and longer life. Many are
used today on front and rear loaders and also on automated side loader
applications. Typically these are used in unloader applications where
manifolds equipped with solenoids turn the system on and off.
PEK/2100 and
PEL/5151 Series
These two fit a variety of applications in the refuse
industry, designed with both side and rear ports,
SAE-B 2&4 bolt mounting flange, Bi-Rotation and
setup for use as a pump or motor providing versatility for uses in many application.
Commonly seen in refuse roll-off, live floor, small and large rear loaders, recovery
vehicles, container haulers and many other utility type vehicle applications.
CH-640 and CH-512 Series
These two have been specifically designed for
the refuse truck market. The CH Series pumps
are made of high strength cast iron and alloy
steel incorporating Permco’s rugged and dependable
gear pump design. CH pumps are pad mounted with
double 1-1/8 inch drive shafts and large port end cover with
1-1/2 inch NPT inlets and a choice of 3/4 inch or 1 inch O-ring outlets.
