The decoder installed in the Class 50 has been specifically adapted to this locomotive and the requirements of Hornby. It is based on the LokSound V3.5 technology and offers more options than can be described in this short manual. Please read the following chapter 5 for more information.

Analogue operation is simpler, but it provides less control over the locomotive. Digital operation allows for more control and finer adjustments, including the ability to use sound effects and special functions.

Programming can be done using a digital command station, such as the Hornby Elite, Lenz LH100, Uhlenbrock Intellibox, ZIMO MX1, Arnold digital, Lenz digital compact, Lenz LH200, or ROCO LokMaus II. You can also program the decoder using the LokProgrammer by ESU.

You can reset the decoder to its factory settings by setting CV8 to the value 8. This will restore the default settings, but it will not erase the sounds from the decoder.

Load compensation is a feature that helps the LokSound V3.5 decoder maintain consistent speed even when the locomotive is pulling a heavy load. This helps ensure that the locomotive runs smoothly and quietly.
