Certus Duplo plates are a positive working 830nm thermal low
chemical consumption product. Duplo’s combination of low chemical
consumption and dual coating technology means you can lower your
carbon footprint both in the reduction of the chemicals needed in prepress and the elimination of the energy required for baking.
Unique plate technology:
The unique plate graining technology allows in most cases for lower
water usage, especially when printing alcohol free, or with an alcohol
substitute. Average water savings is 10 to 25%. Due to the physical
characteristics involved in ink/water balance, a reduction in water
means that you can also reduce your ink consumption pro rata and still
achieve the desired solid ink densities. This unique quality allows for
faster make-ready, better colour control and faster drying times.
Precise dot reproduction:
The imaging variation tolerance is less than 1% without calibration. This
provides perfect image and colour reproduction and gives the ability to
print 10 micron FM screening.
High run length:
Up to 250,000+ impressions possible without post baking and more
than 1 million impressions when baked.
Dual coating plate technology:
Certus Duplo utilizes a dual plate coating technology on a thermal
positive plate allowing customers to print with UV inks and in
aggressive chemical environments without baking. This is the perfect
solution for those who want to use high-resolution plates and do not
want to use an oven to post bake.
Precise dot reproduction:
The image variation tolerance is less than 1% without calibration. This
provides perfect image and colour reproduction and gives the ability to
print 10 micron FM screening.
High run length:
Up to 300,000 impressions possible without post baking and more
than 500,000 impressions when baked.

XL-R
Certus Verde NP - New for 2016
Replenisher
Chem Free Thermal Plate:
To be used in combination with XL-D developer as a replenisher in all
market leading CtP plate processors; achieving optimum processor
performance with low replenishment rates whilst maintaining consistent
processing conditions day after day for the full duration of the bath life.
Verde NP is a negative working 830nm thermal plate that develops on
press using the press dampening system – this eliminates the need
for a pre-press processor or the need for a special gumming and
wash out unit. Saving cost in pre-press on chemical, water and waste
chemical collection.
Unifin
Robust plate technology allowing ease of handling with a good scratch
resistance.
Plate Gum
Develop on Press (DOP) plate technology:
A synthetic gum suitable for use in the CtP processors, enables faster
ink and water acceptance on press start, protects the plate surface
from scratches, oxidation and fingerprints.
Certus Verde NP utilizes a non-ablative plate coating technology which
is a thermal negative plate allowing customers to image the plates and
go directly to press. This is a low energy, 140mj/cm2 negative working
plate. The non-image coating is softened on press by the fountain
solution then is taken off the plate during initial roll-up and is ultimately
transferred onto the make-ready sheets, so it won’t contaminate the
ink or fountain solution. This process is completed in less than 50
sheets.
Pre-Press Maintenance Products
Filters, baking gums, processor cleaning and maintenance products –
info available on request.
Precise dot reproduction:
The dot reproduction is 1-99% @ 200lpi. This provides perfect image
and colour reproduction and gives printers the ability to print both AM
and FM screening.
High run length:
Up to 100,000 impressions possible with the Certus Verde NP plates.
As with any thermal plate, press conditions and types of chemicals
being used to clean the plates and blankets can affect the plate life.

Super Blue 2® StripeNet® Anti-Marking
System
The new patented Super Blue 2 system featuring StripeNet is a
superior method of protecting the wet side of a printed sheet. It
accomplishes this by preventing ink build up on transfer and delivery
positions, thus eradicating the common problem of marking.
• Less marking
• Shorter makereadies
• Less paper waste
• No static build up
• Ease of use
Super Blue® Anti Marking Nets with Stripes
Printing Research, Inc. produces the ‘Mark-less’ Super Blue AntiMarking System for nearly all types of sheet fed offset presses. Super
Blue is a very effective solution for sheet-marking problems at wet
transfer and delivery points in presses of all sizes.
• Eliminates the need for time-consuming make ready tasks Ink stays
where it belongs - on the printed sheet.
• Virtually eliminates sheet marking, scratching and slapping.
• ‘Mark-less’ and ‘Wash-free’ Super Blue provides dramatic time
savings.
PrintGuard® Anti Marking Film – White
(ICP Film)
This Anti Marking film is also used to make the standard white ICP
jackets for Heidelberg presses Available in 2 versions, S Type (small
bead) for general paper stock or L Type (large bead) for card; both
types are available as either self or non-adhesive . PrintGuard Anti
Marking film can be supplied by the roll or metre (1054mm wide) or we
can also custom cut to size.
PrintGuardPlus® Anti Marking Film – Orange
(ICP Film)
PrintGuardPlus is the PrintGuard Anti Marking product but has now
been improved by adding a silicone coating (which is orange in
colour for identity). This silicone coating improves the Anti Marking
characteristics of the glass bead surface by reducing the amount of
ink that touches the surface, thereby reducing further marking. This
product works well on 4 colour presses upwards as marking tends to
increase with the more ink you apply.
Our Ink Duct Foils for Heidelberg presses are the exact shape and size
to guarantee a precise fit and lasting efficiency. They are made of top
quality polyester, ensuring we have excellent chemical, thermal and
mechanical strengths. This means they remain in a perfect condition
for a long working life.
Litho Perfs
Easily fitted onto the impression cylinder to produce perforating, microperfing, scoring, slitting or snap-apart sets whilst printing. All products
are adhesive backed and each individual pack includes a supply of
polyester overlay tape plus full fitting instructions.

Spray Powders
Spray Powders from the name you know and trust
High quality European inks for all your offset requirements!
An essential property of any anti-set-off spray powder is the structure and conformity of particle
size. In order to reduce set-off and maintain even delivery stacks whilst using as little powder as
possible, uniform sized spray particles are required. Anti-set-off powders of superior quality, such
as KSL, are free of dust and course particles and allow for up to 33% less powder to be used when
compared to other regular brands.
Right first time and every time!
•Use up to 30% less powder with KSL’s uniform particle size
•Special versions specifically for Water Based Coatings

KSL are free of dust and course particles and allow for up to 33% less powder to be used when compared to other regular brands.
K4
S5 WL
Calcium Carbonate
Ideal for water-based coating
Recommended as the first choice for most applications, K4 is six
times heavier than starch so it reaches the sheet faster. K4 gives
excellent protection yet keeps the press cleaner as there is very
minimal dust formation. Further advantages are the insensitivity to static
charges and suitability to IR drying equipment. As with all powders,
use sparingly when sheets are to be laminated or UV varnished.
This powder is designed especially for sheets that are to be waterbased coated. The powder is treated with a special coating to act as
a water repellent which ensures equal spacing between the sheets
allowing for sufficient air between the sheets, which is required to
support quick oxidative drying of the ink beneath the coating. The S5
16 and 22 grades have been refined twice thus further improving the
particle consistency and reducing the amount required in order to give
good sheet separation.
Available in 5 grades: 15, 20, 30, 45 and 60 microns.
Available in 6 grades: 15, 16, 20, 22, 30, 45 microns
K4+
Calcium Carbonate
Similar in properties to K4 but as the particles have been coated, K4+
has a reduced tendency to scratch. Ideal with IR drying equipment.
Available in 4 grades: 15, 20, 30 and 45 microns.
S5
L3
The soluble powder
L3 is a state-of-the-art soluble dry spray powder designed for printers
who de-spray before processing. Despite its solubility, L3 gives
excellent anti-set-off protection.
Available in 2 grades: 20 and 30 microns
Natural Starch
S5 gives printed sheets the soft feel which many printers prefer. Used
carefully, S5 is quite suitable for sheets which are to be laminated or
UV varnished. The S5 16 and 22 grades have been refined twice thus
further improving the particle consistency and reducing the amount
required in order to give good sheet separation.
Available in 6 grades: 15, 16, 20, 22, 30 and 45 microns

RollerCare
Böttcher Rollers
Böttcher manufactures the highest quality press rollers for the leading sheetfed presses. Using our superior rubber compounds, our printing rollers
deliver excellent print results and last longer. Böttcher’s quality has long been recognized by the sheetfed press manufacturers including Heidelberg,
Komori, MAN Roland, Mitsubishi, KBA and others who specify Böttcher rollers for their new presses. They know they can trust Böttcher rollers to
meet OEM specifications, matching the required core weights, hardness and wall thickness. In lesser rollers where core weights and wall thickness
are not correct, the core may flex at the high speeds in today’s presses and lead to colour variation.
Böttcher rollers are press ready. This means that they are fitted in our factory with new bearings and accessories so you are assured properly aligned
rollers. Take them out of the box and put them directly in your press! Most importantly, you get excellent and consistent printing results with Böttcher
rollers - precise and even transfer of ink and fountain solutions - with fewer adjustments. You will be able to keep the presses running longer with
optimum printing results by using Böttcher rollers on your sheetfed offset presses

79-Series Roller Compounds
Chameleon Roller Compounds
Glaze-Free Steady State
For UV, Hybrid and Conventional Inks
For sheetfed offset printing with conventional inks, the 79-Series is
available in 25, 30, 35 and 40 Shore A. These compounds offer a
very high resistance to the oils, varnishes and other ingredients of
conventional sheetfed inks. The 79-Series compounds are optimally
adjusted to the conditions of sheetfed offset printing and the rubber
was awarded the GATF InterTech Technology Award for its unique
glaze-free and steady set properties. These compounds resist glazing
and demonstrate minimal shrinkage over their entire service life. The
79-Series is the compound of choice for the majority of sheetfed OEM
press manufacturers. Böttcher’s 79-Series of conventional rubber
compounds truly are the industry standard!
A Böttcher exclusive, Chameleon roller compounds are designed
for use in mixed mode printing. Chameleon rollers allow the printer
to switch back and forth from conventional, hybrid and UV inks
without fear of roller damage. Chameleon rubber adapts to the ink
environment. To guarantee optimum dynamic properties, Chameleon
incorporates Böttcher’ proprietary ARDT (Advanced Rubber Dynamic
Technology). Since Chameleon compounds contain no PVC, they run
cooler than other so called dual purpose rollers. Böttcher’s Chameleon
Technology was awarded an InterTech Technology Award by GATF
in 2005. Böttcher Chameleon compounds are available in 25 and 38
Shore A.
EPDM Roller Compounds
For UV and EB Printing
For dedicated UV / EB printing, special EPDM rubber
compounds are offered by Böttcher. These special
compounds were developed to solve the problems with
swelling, shrinking and/or stickiness, often associated
with th use of conventional rubber compounds in UV/
EB printing. Böttcher EPDM compounds are offered in a
range of harnesses, in order to meet the requirements of
different positions in the roller train. In addition to being
ideal for use in sheetfed UV/EB applications, these
compounds have been developed with dynamic qualities
that make them ideal for use in high speed web UV/EB
applications. Böttcher EPDM compounds are available in
25, 30 and 40 Shore A.
