MGW streaming platforms encode, transcode and
transmit up to 26 real-time uncompressed and

MGW 5100 and MGW 1100 are hardware-based

MGW Decoder is a professional, multi-channel IP decoder for standard
definition and high definition MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 H.264 streams.
MGW Decoder is the perfect solution for taking IP content
into local legacy RF cable systems and into IPTV encoders
for the purpose of re-encoding to other formats or lower
bit rates. Use the dense, 12-channel, rack-mountable
platform to process your video sources while content
providers migrate from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 H.264 content.
With the fast adoption of MPEG-4 H.264, content
providers are starting to transition MPEG-2 uplink facilities
to the new, highly efficient compression format. The use
of H.264 IP streams for content delivery over DVB/ASI
satellite mediums as well as fiber pipes allows content
providers, TV networks and dedicated satellite services
such as the GBS network to reduce bandwidth costs and
serve more content in the existing bandwidth.
The migration to newer format forces cable and IPTV
head-ends, corporate, military bases and government
facilities to replace their existing infra-structure with
newer receivers and/or decoders that support MPEG-4
H.264 compression. The complexity of H.264 and the
numerous variations of encoders in the market require
a mature, reliable decoding solution that will offer density
and attractive cost per channel.
