S W I N G G AT E R A C K S
DataTel’s open wall_mount design lets you swing equipment out to greatly simplify wiring
tasks. Our swing gate design, which utilizes pivot points instead of hinges, will handle up to
100 lbs. of equipment when mounting on block or concrete wall, or when using optional wall
strengthening mounting rails. Unlike most competitive products, this swing gate has a 90˚
positive stop that allows for punching down of wires while fully open and also minimizes stress
on cable loops.
The swing gate rack can be inverted allowing it to open from the left or the right. With
ample tie points and hook and loop fasteners, cable management is made convenient and
attractive. Permanently lubricated bushings with a proprietary pivot prevents sag. With
available depths of 12” and 18”, the swing gate rack is a good choice for patch panel
management and for those systems requiring active components such as hubs.
The narrow mounting plate makes it easy to install swing gate racks on crowded equipment
walls. SGR racks feature 11_gauge, 10_32 threaded rackrail. Available in 12 or 20
rackspaces, black textured powder coat finish, rack screws and hook and loop fasteners

Equipped with a locking pivoting center section, fully adjustable 11_gauge, 10_32 threaded front rackrail,
and a large laser knockout in the rear which provides smooth cable entry, the data wall cabinet comes with
a locking smoked plexiglass front door. Two laser knockouts on top and bottom of cabinet allow for
optional 42” fan units for increased ventilation.
Pivoting design (non_hinged) provides weight capacities of 150, 200 and 300 lbs. with no sagging of the
center section when in the open position, even while fully loaded.
Offering unparalleled access to component rear panels, the data wall cabinet features an advanced cable
management system residing in the center and rear sections. Additionally, the rear section can be easily

The SR_40_22 boasts a unique benefit in that, while designed to mount to the wall, the rack’s
entire weight is actually safely supported by the floor. The unit’s 8w” bottom cable_entry
platform bears the weight of the rack. Capable of holding up to 350 lbs. of equipment, the
SR_40_22 swinging rack provides 40 rackspaces and 20” of useable depth within the confines
of a spacious 22” overall depth.
Front vents provide cooling and vented rail brackets promote optimal heat convection. In the top

18_gauge gray zinc_plated steel construction and a 13_gauge steel face with a black

washable air filter. Model RM_CPU_ATX conforms to Intel ATX specification 2.01 for

The WRK Series is fabricated with 14_gauge steel tops and bottoms, 16_gauge seamless
steel sides, and 11_gauge thickness where the rail brackets are welded to the sides. Laser
cut 8” thick internal braces made from structural steel add strength while providing more

Redefining 19” rack versatility are 2”, w”, 1”, and 12” electrical knockouts on removable
rear plates. With either rear plate removed, large cable bundles can easily be passed under
or over the standard keylocked door. Adding to this convenience are cable pass_throughs
located in the face of the extra_wide 10_32 threaded rackrail, which facilitate cable

With a broadcast_standard 22” outside width and a robust 1000 lb. capacity, the VRK_44_31H
enclosure presents a stylish modern appearance with beveled corners. The heavily vented top
and bottom faces (front and rear) used in our fully welded design keep things cool. Featuring
14_gauge steel tops and bottoms, 16_gauge seamless steel sides, and an 11_gauge thickness
where the rail brackets are welded to the sides, each model is equipped with laser cut 8” thick
internal braces made from structural steel.
The VRK video rack enclosure features horizontal lacing bars made from 2” square tubing
with 7” centers, which facilitate quick tie_and_slide lacing.
Two pairs of wide 11_gauge, 10_32 threaded rail come standard to promote a wide_open
internal architecture, while a new rail bracket innovation facilitates fixed rail mounting positions,
as well as an infinite amount of adjustable rail mounting positions. Laser knockouts for a
one_gang electrical box are found in the bottom face, front and rear.
As a unique time_saving benefit, VRK racks gang together with equipment installed via
ganging holes located in the front recess (racks are shipped with aesthetic hole plugs
preinstalled). Open top accepts a number of versatile options. Vented latching rear door is
standard, optional front doors are found on page 28.

The WRS Series low_profile wall rack allows mounting of equipment in a vertical

Delivered as a factory assembled system in a MRK, WRK_SA, or ERK enclosure A ,
our AXS System for steel racks allows equipment bays to be placed up against walls
or back_to_back, thereby putting an end to the dilemma posed by space_limited
environments. That translates into a savings of six square feet of floor space per rack!
To simplify your installation, each host enclosure can be pre_installed on_site while the
detachable rack frame B is integrated with equipment off_site. With a rolling rack
frame depth of 20”, this AXS System will hold up to 650 lbs. All cables can be
cleanly and safely routed via articulating carriers C which attach to the rack frame.
When your installation is complete, the rolling rack frame retracts into its host cabinet,
the service tracks D are removed, and the unit is locked closed. Additionally, the
AXS System installed in our MRK Series racks satisfies the Uniform Building Code
seismic zone 4 upper floor requirements for protecting 500 lbs. of essential equipment
(order part # suffixed by “Z4”).

Need a custom power strip fast? With our new MPR Series, you can design and build a custom power distribution system to your specifications!
As easy to configure in the field as it is in the shop, our new modular power system provides the broadest selection of circuit and control options,
and utilizes a proprietary pre_terminated interconnect system that snaps together in a fraction of the time it takes to custom hard wire other
raceway products.
The MPR series is comprised of power modules, raceways, interconnect cables, and a sequencing controller. The concept is to mix and match
power modules appropriate for your application.
You Design It _ simply select the number of circuits and amperage/outlets required, and choose the appropriate modules for the job. Decide whether
to use our flexible sequencing control system (USC_6R, pg. 42), or use any control system that provides 12 volt DC or contact closure outputs.
You Build It _ use our pre_terminated cables to connect modules (no hardwiring required!), and install the modules in the appropriate raceway.
Easy Installation _ raceways install quickly into racks utilizing our unique “quick_clip” mounting method.

Switchable power modules allow quick and easy shop or field wiring of vertical power raceways. An extensive selection of both 15 amp and 20 amp modules allow the installer
to configure each raceway to fit the application, with single or multiple circuits and a choice of control options. All modules utilize a unique genderless coupler to daisy_chain

Raceway System
USC-6R U NIVERSAL S EQUENCING C ONTROLLER
The USC_6R Universal Sequencing Controller provides 6_step
sequencing control to any AC power distribution system that
can be controlled by either switch closure or 12 volt DC.
Sequencing can be initiated locally via a convenient front panel
switch, as well as remotely via our wallplate keyswitch
(USC_KL) or any momentary dry_contact closure switch.
Featuring an interval delay selector of 1, 3, or 6 seconds
between sequence steps, the unit additionally provides 4
different start delay settings, allowing up to three USC_6R
units to be interconnected to operate as a single 18 step unit.
Occupying one rackspace, the USC_6R front panel includes
individual channel LED status indicators, as well as master

Standard on all systems, Side Bay Racks are available in either a single or dual bay
configuration and come complete with casters. The reversible top is contoured to
match the desktop, allowing the racks to be positioned at a comfortable angle to
the user. A single bay square top model is also available for stand alone use.
Additionally, these racks feature a unique two position top height, allowing the user
to determine whether the racks join the desk flush or slide under the desktop.
11_gauge, 10_32 threaded front rackrail is set back 2” for equipment clearance,
and rear rackrail can be positioned at any of four pre_drilled depths. If desired, our
optional laminate shelf can be mounted in pre_drilled holes in place of rackrail.

Gasketed plexiglass front doors and gasketed laminated rear doors control noise,
opening 95˚ on concealed hinges. The rear door features a built_in ultra low_noise
fan for cooling plus removable filter kit, and a brush grommet at the door bottom
allows cable exit while maintaining a seal for noise and air flow. Single bay racks
come standard with front and rear door, while dual bay racks include doors on one

Our 24 space isolation rack is designed to minimize noise caused by loud computers and
hard drive arrays, while maintaining proper operating temperature for equipment. This
rack includes a plexiglass front door, and a gasketed solid rear door, as well as internal
acoustical absorptive material to reduce noise by up to 22 db. Additionally, the rear door
features a built_in quiet fan and filter, while a brush grommet at the door bottom allows
cable exit while maintaining a seal for noise and airflow. Available with graphite finish top
to match graphite Edit Center desks as well as MultiDesk Video systems.

With our innovative RSH custom rackmounts, you can install virtually any component in
a standard 19” enclosure without making any modifications. Custom cut to provide a
perfect opening for the face of the component you are mounting, each RSH unit provides
a neatly_trimmed installation with a perfect fit and no gaps. With accurate details on over
6,000 components in our measured unit database, chances are we have yours on file.
Unit assembles easily in minutes and includes rear brackets to prevent the mounted
component from sliding back. A ventilated bottom promotes cooling. Depending upon
your needs, the units can be ordered with a black textured finish (model RSH4S), or a
black brushed anodized finish (model RSH4A). Bottom depths are automatically
provided in 112”, 14”, 152”, 172”, or 202” styles. Custom rackmounts will accept
any component up to 18w” wide (maximum width of opening 17w”).
Individual fascias (less rack ears and shelf bottom) are also available in a black textured
finish (model SFACE), or a black brushed anodized finish (model AFACE).

Trim Strips
TRIM STRIPS
As a final aesthetic complement to any installation, add our
finishing trim strips. A quick, clean, and effective method of
covering rack screws once the job is complete, each
channel_shaped trim strip measures 45 spaces (78w” long),
and features internal grooves that fit into the supplied snap
washers. Offered in brushed black anodized, or black powder
coat finish, trim strips are cut easily to size with a hacksaw.
We also offer a cutting service, please inquire. Included
decorative caps trim the ends, if required. Sold individually.

good to be true? It’s not. Here’s why: Our UCP series modular custom panel system assembles
quickly and easily using either a 2 or 4 space frame kit and your selections from an extensive
collection of prepunched modules. UCP modular assemblies simply bolt together using supplied
hardware. A single tier of five modules bolts across a 2 space frame kit, two tiers of five modules bolt
across a 4 space frame kit. Modules are prepunched to accept XLR, Neutrik, Elco, Canare, and a
host of other connector configurations (see accompanying diagrams). The inherent strength of the
interlocking system eliminates panel deflection while inserting or removing connectors. When
completed, all hardware is flush to create a professional appearance with no unsightly gaps. Visible
parts have a brushed and black anodized finish. All modules are 8” thick aluminum and black
brushed anodized finish. Blank and vented panels are also available to fill unused spots.

RackTools™ software increases the efficiency of your business by allowing
engineers and salespeople to quickly and easily specify Middle Atlantic
and DataTel products, and create accurate rack elevation drawings,
purchase orders, and quotes in minutes.
This innovative software, which is available free at www.racktools.com,
utilizes the familiar windows drag-and-drop interface allowing the user to
create scale system drawings incorporating every product available from
Middle Atlantic and DataTel. Once you’ve completed your RackTools™
CAD layout, you’re only a few clicks away from printing a professional
proposal drawing for your client, as well as a purchase order form that is
ready to be faxed to your distributor for immediate processing.
