CONNECTING THE RECEIVER
Place the receiver close to your TV and connect it to your Internet connection with a network cable.
If you want to connect the receiver wirelessly, you need a USB WiFi adapter which can be purchased
separately. See how you connect the receiver on page 3.
Network Cable (ARJ45)
You can connect the receiver to your TV using two different methods:
1. If your TV is an older model, and doesn’t have a HDMI input, you can connect the receiver with a
RCA cable (Red, white and yellow) which is compatible with most TVs. If your TV doesn’t have an
RCA input, you can buy a RCA-to-scart-adapter.

2. If your TV is a newer version, your can connect with a HDMI cable.
HDMI cable
When the receiver is connected to the TV, switch the power on, and the system starts up automatically.
Remember to be on the right input (HDMI 1, 2, 3, 4 ...) on your TV. Otherwise you won’t get a picture on
the screen.

USING THE SYSTEM
PROGRAMME GUIDE - EPG
When the system is booted, you get a message on the screen that says LOADING ...
After a while TVonIP will load the system. To view the programme guide, press the EPG button, and you
will get the following picture on the screen:
After a few seconds, the receiver will load the last channel it was on when it was switched off, or the
programme guide. Above you see the programme guide/EPG. You can navigate using the arrow keys
and confirm by pressing the OK button. The vertical line (the now-line) in the picture shows which station
is on right now. If you can’t see the vertical line, you can use the right/left arrow keys.
Reminder: by selecting a programme which is after the vertical line and press OK, you are creating a
reminder which then will appear just before the programme begins.
Auto-view: by selecting a programme which is after the vertical line, and press the play button, the
receiver will automatically switch to the selected broadcast when it begins.
Played Delayed: If you want to watch a programme from the beginning after it has started, you can
simply select it and press the play button.
Channel Selection:
You can switch to the next or previous channel by using the CH+ / CH-.
By pressing the OK button while watching TV, you get a smaller channel list up on the left side of the
screen, where you can browse using the arrow keys and confirming by pressing the OK button.
If you want to see what is on the other channels whilst watching one channel, you can scroll with the
arrow keys. At the bottom of the screen a display will appear showing which programs are on the other
channels in the list. If you want to see the selected channel, you can confirm with the OK button.
DIRECT CHANNEL SELECTION
You can go directly to a specific channel by entering the channel number directly on the remote. Again
confirm your choice with a press on the OK button. For example, if you are on channel 1 and want to go
to channel 7, press the number 7 (the number you press can be seen in the left corner of the TV screen)
and then press OK.
RADIO
Radio channels are on the same list as the TV channels, and starting from number 1001. Please note
that depending on what channel you choose, the TV screen will be either black or with some sort of
flicker.

Troubleshooting - MAG | 7
TROUBLESHOOTING
QUICK RESTART
If you experience problems, the menu button should be your first choice. Your receiver is very much
like a computer in a small package, and it needs a reboot every once in a while. This reboot only takes
seconds and is much faster than if you unplug it.
If the box doesn’t respond to this button, you should unplug it and plug it back in. The box can take 2-3
minutes to load. This is normal.
PAGE LOAD ERROR
If a programme stops or the screen goes black and you get a message on the screen that says Page
Load Error after you have unplugged and plugged back in, this is due to your receiver not connecting to
the Internet. This rarely happens if you have a good internet connection, but if it happens, you can try
the following:
• Unplug both Internet router and receiver.
• Wait two minutes, then plug in the router again.
• Wait about two minutes or until the lights on your router become stable, and then plug the receiver
back in.
THE TEXT TAKES UP TOO MUCH SCREEN
Note that if you have BoxTV and have connected your receiver with an RCA cable, you can experience
trouble with the programme guide and the catch-up menu. The picture however will not change.
If any of the text/image disappears on the screen, your receiver is incorrectly set up to your TV. You can
correct this by following the steps below:
•
•
Press SETUP. You should now see a blue and white menu on the screen.
Press the down arrow key until VIDEO marked. Confirm with the OK button. You will now get a new
menu on the screen, with four options. For a newer flat-screen TV, the settings should be as follows:
1.
2.
3.
4.
720i-60
1280x720
Disabled
OFF
•
•
Press down arrow until OK is highlighted. Press OK to return to the previous menu.
Use the arrow keys to select Reboot Box. Confirm with OK and press OK again when asked if
you’re sure.
BLUE SCREEN (TFTP load or DHCP)
Start by unlpugging your receiver. Hold down the menu button while you plug the receiver back in. Keep
the button held down and make sure to point the remote at your TV.
Now you will see a menu on a blue screen. Use the arrow keys and select Boot Mode. Now press the
right arrow key until the right column changes to NAND2.
Use the arrow keys to go down down and select Exit &
Save - press the RIGHT arrow key and confirm by pressing
OK.

3. Navigate down to “Buffer Size (ms)”.
4. Use left/right key to change the “Buffer Size (ms)”.
5. Press OK to save.
