The high speed and precision engineering of the MR-720 Perfect
Binder makes it the most productive and cost-efficient perfect
binder in its class. The single operator and single clamp design
allows output of up to an impressive 600 cycles per hour.
EXTENSIVE, USER-FRIENDLY CONTROLS
The user-friendly touch screen control panel simplifies operation
and provides many useful features to augment production. A
“stand-by” mode allows periodic interruptions in production
without causing deterioration of the glue. Save time by using the
“automatic timer” which programs the MR-720 to turn itself on
at a preset time each day thereby preventing wasted production
time waiting for the machine to warm-up.
VERSATILE PERFORMANCE
Designed for both flat sheets and signatures, its unique
pneumatic clamping carriage and cover nipping system ensures
quick setups and easy changeovers for short to medium runs.
The MR-720 can be used in a wide range of operating modes to
handle virtually all of your perfect binding and padding needs.
The operator can choose among binding with milling and
notching, without milling and notching, or with notching only.
SIMPLE, DEPENDABLE OPERATION
The operator begins the process by simply placing flat sheets
or signatures into the vibrating jogger of the loading station (a
vibrating jogger is ideal for single sheet or high speed copier
output because it requires less paper handling prior to loading).
The pages are clamped and sent downstream over the milling/
notching blade. The milling unit is adjustable up to a 4 millimeter
cutting depth. The glue is expertly applied by a state-of-the-art
thermostatically controlled adhesive application system that
provides a strong, resilient bind.
IDEAL FOR PRINT ON DEMAND ENVIRONMENTS
For added convenience, the book clamper can be set for either
manual or automatic operation in order to achieve optimum
efficiency on a particular job. Unique to the MR-720 is an
automatic clamping and nipping thickness adjustment that is
ideal for the on demand market because it can accommodate
book thicknesses from 2 sheets to 1.97” without any
adjustments.
EXCEPTIONAL COVER FEEDING
The automatic vacuum cover feeder and cover station provides
superior operation. By using both the digital micrometer and
ruled side guides, the cover station is set up quickly and precisely.
The 1.63” top-feed design allows for greater productivity and no
downtime. In addition, a double detector on the cover station
provides accuracy in operation. The covers are applied by
a pneumatic ram that guarantees proper cover positioning.
Finally, the pneumatically controlled nipper provides a perfectly
square spine.
For added versatility, the MR-720 features standard hinge
scoring wheels to enhance your finished product.
SAFE AND DEPENDABLE OPERATION
The sturdy interlocking safety cover provides a shielded design
for greater work protection. Additionally, four photo-beams
provide a safety guard at the loading station that stops the
machine instantly in case of accidental contact with the
machine’s operation.

MILL Accurate spine preparation is
ensured by a strong mill and three
notching tools that can handle up to 32page signatures. The milling height is
adjustable up to 4 mm off the bookspine.
For increased glue penetration, the
mill features three Tungsten carbide
notching teeth. A powerful dust extractor
automatically removes the paper dust.
AUTOMATIC COVER FEEDER The
large non-stop suction feeder features a
blower for cover separation. The cover
stock position adjustment is on the touch
screen control panel.
SCORING The cover feeder features
two double scoring wheels (of which one
is motorized) for cover scoring and two
single scoring wheels for eventual flaps.
GLUE TANK The MR-720 features a large
glue tank with two glue drums, two side
gluing wheels, and a scraper that evens
the glue layer. The gluing cut off can also
be controlled to avoid glue overflow at the
end of the spine.
The scoring depth can be adjusted by
means of a caliper lever.
PNEUMATIC NIPPING STATION Strong
and heavy nipping jaws provide the
required mechanical force to form perfectly
square bookspines. Even high grammaged
covers weighing over 500 gsm or hard to
process cover qualities can be handled.
The front and side positioning bars ensure
the covers are accurately positioned on
the nipping station. The nipping station is
controlled by a photocell so the machine
will not cycle in case a cover is missed.
