iSSP35 (3DSSP) Walkthrough
iSSP35 (3DSSP) Walkthrough
To start iSSP35, double click on the icon that looks like this:
After starting, the program will open the blank, base window:
The next step is to open an image to process. To do that, click on the 'Add' button in the lower left
of the window.
A dialogue will open asking you to specify the target file. In general, you should have a standard
input directory (in this case c:\Program Files\iSSP35-NMP-us\3DSSP-Input).
Select the xxx.hdr file of the image you want to process. You may select more than 1 file at a time
by using the ctrl key.
Once you have selected your images, they will appear in the box on the left of the window. It is
important to note that the dot next to the filename is red, at this stage.
Click on one of the filenames. A second window should open:
This new window contains the data about the patient whose image you clicked on. Note that some
of the field names are coloured red (Sex, Age and Phar. Name). You will need to fill these in before
you can continue. As you enter them, these fields should turn yellow.
Also, note the 'Show Image' button in the lower third of the new window. If you click this, the box
below will show a preview of the image. You should do this to confirm nothing is wrong with the
image, itself.
After filling in the details in the new window, you need to select the database of Normal Controls
that the image will be compared against. In the lower right quarter of the original window, there is a
text box under the title 'Database'. Click the button to select a different database.
A dialogue window will open, asking for you to select a normal database. Databases may be
identified by the suffix '.def' (For example, AustinPIBneg.def is being selected in the image).
Once you have selected your database, you will need to chose an option from the drop-down menu
just below that (marked 'Select').
After choosing the appropriate option for your image (here, 'FDG 50-90 Both'), the dot next to the
image file's name in the left window will turn yellow. This indicates that all the information
required for processing has been entered.
After confirming the details you've entered, push the button with a green circle and the label 'Fixed'
at the bottom of the first window.
Once you've pressed this button, the indicator circle next to the image file name also turns green.
This indicates that the details are locked in and it is ready to process. You will lose the ability to
change any of the patient's details at this point
If you realise you have made a mistake, the 'Fixed' button has turned into a 'Cancel' button with a
yellow circle. Pushing his will take the process back one step, so that you can change the details,
Once all the images you want to process are green-lit, push the 'Run' button in the lower right of the
original window.
Both windows will disappear and be replaced by a scrolling terminal display. This step may take a
little while.
When the processing is finished, a window asking you to confirm the execution will be displayed.
Double click on 'My Computer' and navigate to the iSSP35's output directory, typically c:\Program
You will find a folder created for each of the image files that you just processed. Once you have
confirmed this, you can push close on the 3DSSP window that is asking for confirmation. The
original window will reappear.
Inside the folder is the results of the processing.
Double-click on any of the images to view it.
The following is an example of these results.
