2. Installation (Reference figures on page 0.)

2.1 Connecting the Cables to the Monitor

a. Connect the VGA cable and power cord to the back of the 17” LCD monitor.

b. Connect the connector to the AC input on the DC adapter and the plug of the power

cord to the wall outlet.

c. Install and fix the cables.

2.2 Turning on the Monitor

a. Switch on the power of the 17” LCD monitor and your computer.

b. Please turn the LCD monitor off first when unplug adapter.

2.3 Wall-Mount Installation

To enhance this function, you need a

VESA wall-mount kit,

which is not supplied in the package.

a. Place the monitor carefully on a horizontal surface.

b. Remove the hinge cover.

c. Remove the pivot screw and take off base.

d. Assemble the VESA wall-mount kit to the rear cover.

e. Hang the LCD monitor and VESA wall-mount kit on the wall.

3.User Interface Settings

3.1 Using the Front Control Panel

Power switch : To turn ON or OFF the power.

+ : To increase the volume or brightness of the parameter in the OSD you have

selected for adjustment.

+ : To increase the volume or brightness directly when OSD menu is not activated.

3.2 Using the On-Screen Display (OSD)

To adjust the settings:

a. Press MENU to enter or exit the OSD menu.

b. Use +/- or to select the OSD icon of the item you want to adjust.

c. Press MENU and use +/- or to select the items.

d. Press MENU and use +/- or to adjust the values.

4. Plug and Play

4.1 DDC

With the Display Data Channel (DDC), the monitor informs the main system of ID information.

It also reports other display capacity levels to the main system according to the DDC level in use.

DDC 1: a one-way Display Data Channel.

DDC 2: a two-way Display Data Channel.

The LCD monitor supports DDC1/2B displays.

4.2 System Requirements (recommend)

PC: 500MHz processor or fast.

Microsoft Windows ® 95 or higher.

5. Power Management

The power-management system of the LCD monitor fulfils the standards of the Video Electron-

ics Standards Association (VESA)

and the US Environmental Protection Agency

(EPA) to reduce power consumption and save energy.

The operating system or Windows Utilities will start the power-management system, which may turn off the monitor and disable/change the color of the power LED indicator.

6. Trouble Shooting

Q1 : No display on the monitor or any malfunction.

The Power LED is off: Check that the power cord is properly connected.

The Power LED is red: Check that the video cable is properly connected. Check that the

computer is turned on.

The Power LED is green: Check that the H-SYNC frequency is not beyond the limit.

Adjust the brightness and contrast.

If malfunction still exists, turn the machine off and re-turn it on.

Q2: Picture is fuzzy (with noise, flicks, etc.)

1. Adjust the monitor by using the Auto Tune function. Check the clock of the computer

to make sure that it is compatible with the monitor.

Both the video LED indicators, i.e. H-SYNC (horizontal synchronization) and V-SYNC

(vertical synchronization), also show power consumption.

When power consumption goes beyond the limits:

H-SYNC > 80KHz, H-SYNC < 29KHz

V-SYNC > 75Hz, V-SYNC < 60Hz

2. Press AUTO to adjust automatically

3. Adjust AUTO TUNE in display adjust menu

4. Adjust PHASE in display adjust menu

Please remove the original monitor data under “Device Manager” in OS and restart the computer if your computer system is Windows
