Limousin II & The “Bull”
Always On™’s LIMOUSIN Series are transformer based UPS’s which provide lightning, surge,
spike, transient and noise protection and feature constant Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR)
and blackout protection. They are designed for the home/office user to provide the maximum
protection at a competitive price. The Bull is not any ordinary power bar; with its automatic
voltage regulation (AVR) and its triple protection (spikes, noise, and transient suppression), it
can handle applications not suitable for other power bars.

L Series (line-interactive true sine wave output)
Always On™’s L Series are line interactive UPS systems with a true sine wave output on all
modes of operation. They are ideal for commercial and industrial applications and range in size
from 800VA to 3kVA. All L Series systems provide voltage regulation, noise, surge and spike
protection, serial communication interface, network and modem protection, extended runtime
options and additional communication interfaces.

Always On™’s N Series are dual conversion true on-line UPS systems which provide the
attached loads with isolation from the utility or generator supply. At all times, the loads are
supplied power from the inverter, which is fed by the batteries and is designed for critical
applications. The wide input range (gen. mode) is designed into these systems while
maintaining output at 120VAC at 60Hz +/- 2%. The single phase systems are available from
700VA to 3kVA.

Always On™’s TN Series are dual conversion true on-line UPS systems which provide the
attached loads with isolation from the utility or generator supply. At all times, the loads are
supplied power from the inverter, which is fed by the batteries and is designed for critical

maintaining output at various voltage and frequency configurations. The single phase systems
are available from 5kVA to 20kVA.

attached loads with isolation from the utility or generator supply and are designed for all critical
applications. These critical loads are supplied power from the inverter, which is fed by the
batteries. The NX Series is designed with a large input range and incorporates an output
isolation transformer. These UPS systems are available from 10kVA to 320kVA with three
phase input and three phase or single phase output with multiple voltage configurations.

NFC Series Frequency Converters
(50, 60, or 400Hz selectable output frequency)
Always On™’s NFC Series Frequency Converters incorporate all the features of our dual
conversion true on-line UPS systems as well as the ability to lock the output frequency to
the three major standards. The dual conversion technology allows the load to be supplied
with 50Hz, 60Hz, or 400Hz, independent of the input. The NFC Series is designed with
large input range and incorporates an isolation transformer. These NFC systems are
available from 10kVA to 250kVA with three phase input and three phase output.

Electrical Service Entrance TVSS Filter (ESE)
The Always On™ “ESE” TVSS filter is designed to protect your power grid. Installed at the
power panel, it provides protection against externally and internally produced power
aberrations, massive impulses, lightning induced effects and interference associated with
low frequency harmonics and situations caused by accidents and/or failures in the electrical
utility system. It is totally compatible with all operating loads including high frequency
power supplies and constant current loads controlled by electronic switches.

PLC Low-Pass Series Filter
Always On™’s PLC filters are designed to provide noise, surge, spike, transient, and
overload protection to PLC power supplies and peripherals. Two different types are
available; AC only and AC/DC with data line protection to ensure clean operation and
transfer to all I/O interfaces, peripherals and power supplies. All systems include an onboard resettable breaker, and a three colour LED for easy operation identification and
diagnostics.

TF/ILF (Isolating Line Filter)
The Always On™ TTF/ILF combines a Low-Pass Series filter with a toroidal isolation
transformer. This unit provides attenuation of both normal and common mode noise and
eliminates any troublesome constant voltage which may exist between neutral and ground
in some electrical configurations. It is totally compatible with all operating loads, including
high frequency switching power supplies. It re-establishes the “0” volts ground reference
point on the secondary.

Emergency Lighting (Aurora and Borealis Series)
Always On™ ELI’s are designed for installation between your AC power supply (utility or
generator) and your lighting equipment. It provides power to your equipment during major
power events such as blackouts and brownouts, over-voltage and under-voltage conditions.
The ELI provides a consistent supply of regulated AC power during these power events,
allowing you to ensure safety and lighting for the period required.

Genie (AC Smart Distribution Panel / Cabinet powered by UPS)
The “Genie” is designed to supply AC power while protecting the multiple critical loads
supplied by the distribution (Genie) panel. The “Genie” incorporates the Always On™ SDB
breaker, which is specifically designed to clear in less than 1 second, eliminating multiple
load trips. The “Genie” replaces the required retrofitting of standard panels with fast-blow
fuses. A communication interface allows for a remote attendant.

DESCRIPTION:
Always On™’s L Series are line-interactive UPS systems with a true sine wave output in all modes. These systems are
ideal for commercial and light industrial applications and range in size from 800VA to 3kVA. All systems provide voltage
regulation, a serial communication interface, network and modem protection, extended runtime options and additional
communication interfaces.
APPLICATIONS:
Among other applications, the L Series can be applied to LAN file servers, personal computers, networks and

Example: 30 minutes of back-up time are required to power a 200VA load.
Using the chart, find the back-up time required (i.e. 30 MIN) and move along the horizontal axis until you are placed
between the slanted lines. At this point, follow down the vertical lines to identify the UPS Load Level % (i.e. 30%). Divide
the load (i.e. 200VA) by the UPS Load Level % to identify the size of UPS required. Once calculated, round-up the
calculated number to the nearest UPS rating (i.e. 200 / 0.3 = 667). The minimum VA requirement is 667VA, so you roundup to an 800VA UPS system (GES-801L). The GES-801L will supply a minimum of 30 minutes to a 200VA load.

DESCRIPTION: This dual conversion UPS system converts the incoming AC supply to DC. The DC power is used to
charge the batteries and supply the inverter. The inverter then inverts the DC power into AC power that, in turn, is
supplied to the load. This dual conversion isolates the line from AC supply and allows for wide input power variations on
both frequency and voltage. Systems in single phase output configurations range from 700VA to 20kVA.
APPLICATIONS: Among other applications, the N and TN11 Series can be applied to LAN file servers, personal
computers, networks and workstations, Automatic Teller Machines, telecommunications, laboratory and medical
equipment, test equipment, POS equipment, robotics, PLC’s, security and emergency systems and military & government
applications.
ADVANCED FEATURES: Features include utility input power factor correction, self-diagnosis, an LCD display, a static
bypass, smart power source monitoring and battery management, lightning, noise and surge protection, spike and
transient protection, cold start/auto restart, a user selectable frequency, a generator mode and intelligent communications
interface. SNMP and AS-400 adapters are available for network management. User replaceable batteries, emergency
power off control, an isolation transformer and maintenance bypass switches are standard on the TN11 and TN31 Series.
COMPLETE PROTECTION: The N and TN11 Series UPS’s are designed with comprehensive Spike, Transient and
Surge protection, which prevents destructive hardware damage and extends system life. The high end EMI/RFI filtering
design prevents electrical Common and Normal Mode noise from affecting computer operation, data or files, including
when the UPS is in Bypass Mode.
OPERATING VOLTAGES AND FREQUENCIES: The N and TN11 Series UPS’s are designed to function at wide voltage
and frequency variations. This wide input range makes the systems ideal for generator and problematic area applications.
Also available is a frequency converter option allowing the user to select the output frequency at 50 or 60Hz.
SELF-DIAGNOSIS AND INFORMATION INDICATORS: Each N and TN11 Series UPS is equipped with a
microprocessor that performs a self-diagnosis once a month to ensure continuous runtime. The microprocessor is able to
identify failures, display the failure on the LCD display and send audio and visual alarms (off site monitoring).
COLD START: This feature allows the N and TN11 Series UPS’s to be powered up when the utility is not present.
AUTO RESTART: This user selectable feature allows the UPS to restart automatically when utility becomes available,
provided it has been shutdown due to an extended blackout.
SMART POWER SOURCE MONITORING AND BATTERY MANAGEMENT: Via microprocessor-based electronics, the
N and TN11 Series UPS’s produce a strict true sine wave output regardless of the input. It also controls the on-battery
and low battery shutdown, which prevents full discharge, thereby extending the battery performance and battery life.
INTELLIGENT COMMUNICATION INTERFACE: Each N and TN11 Series UPS is equipped with a RS232 and dry
contact interface port, for which we provide various powerful management software programs. For the more complex
network environment, we support Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), AS400 and others.
REMOTE SHUTDOWN AND EMERGENCY STOP: Features include remote shutdown via communication port,
emergency stop via contacts. An optional push button control is available.

Example: 30 minutes of back-up time are required to power a 200VA load. Using the chart, find the back-up time
required (i.e. 30 MIN) and move along the horizontal axis until you are placed between the slanted lines. At this point,
follow down the vertical lines to identify the UPS Load Level % (i.e. 30%). Divide the load (i.e. 200VA) by the UPS Load
Level % to identify the size of UPS required. Once calculated, round-up the calculated number to the nearest UPS rating
(i.e. 200 / 0.3 = 667). The minimum VA requirement is 667VA, so you round-up to a 700VA UPS system (GES-701N).

TRUE SINE WAVE ON-LINE UPS
Due to the increasing requirements placed by today’s users and technological advances
in present day electronics, the demand for an industrial UPS system with commercial
capabilities is required. Always On™ designed NX Series UPS systems to provide clean,
isolated, reliable and consistent power to all critical loads.
The NX Series UPS’s are dual conversion, on-line, three phase, intelligent systems for
centralized power protection and distribution. The “dual conversion” means AC utility is
converted into DC power which, in turn, charges the batteries and supplies the inverter,
which inverts the DC power back into highly regulated and isolated AC power. These
continuous three phase on-line UPS’s are available in models from 10kVA up to 250kVA.
For high power redundant applications, the NX Series UPS’s can be installed with up to eight units in parallel, achieving
N+1 redundancy. Isolated Parallel Redundant Operation (IPRO) is an optional feature of the NX Series, whereby the
systems are controlled in a true peer-to-peer configuration with redundancy in all critical elements and functions. This
advanced technology provides the greater system reliability and expansibility required for mission critical applications.
The NX Series UPS’s are also energy efficient. The models up to 40kVA are equipped with GES (Green Energy System)
to maximize savings on operating costs without compromising security. GES for IPRO configuration is a special firmware
package which allows significant reductions in energy consumption and operating cost during low load conditions.
Controls within the CPU monitor and distribute the load to maintain the maximum efficiency and reduce energy
consumption. The GES mode for IPRO is programmed to take care of load changes during the day or the degree of
redundancy required.
The NX Series UPS’s provide reliable and robust protection for mission critical installations from IT to telecommunications
and infrastructure applications such as airports, hospitals and financial companies.
Features and Benefits
Full Galvanic Isolation: Full Galvanic Isolation provides a completely isolated and referenced output. This isolation
protection provides a proven solution to problems created by induced voltages affecting the critical loads. Since the
output circuit to the load is completely isolated and no noise induced on the neutral can permeate to the loads, systems
operate in a more reliable fashion. Also, this type of protection increases the life span of equipment by eliminating noise,
which breaks down components.
Modular Design: Each major component (inverter, rectifier and static switch) on the NX Series are installed on slide-out
modules. This allows for quick repair (mean time to repair of >30 minutes) and easy field upgradeability.
High efficiency: Thanks to IGBT technology, the NX Series UPS’s provide high efficiency (up to 94.5%). This, combined
with IPRO, results in the most cost-efficient and reliable UPS solution in the industry.
Fully digital: DSP (Digital Signal Processor), flash memory and SVM strategy are the technology corner stones of the
new age of power quality and reliability.
Extremely flexible: The NX Series UPS offers tailor-made power protection to comply
with your individual installation requirements. Options include passive filter, a 6-pulse
rectifier (instead of the standard 12-pulse rectifier) for units under 80kVA and a Smart
Panel (SP). In addition, a comprehensive software suite can be added for mission
control and data protection.

Extension of battery life
Batteries are a critical part of every UPS solution, acting as the power supply in the event of an AC power failure.
Batteries are sensitive products that need to be handled and monitored continuously and carefully in order to increase
their lifetime and predictability. Always On™ includes superior battery management within the entire NX Series family and
is a comprehensive management and monitoring system that prevents batteries from overcharging and deep discharging.
Load dependent runtime indication and re-calibration procedures are standard features to optimize life cycle cost and
system reliability.
Features and Benefits:
The NX Series features a ”no surprises” automatic battery test, a deep calibration test, which provides battery
performance tracking, boost charging, which enables fast recharging of batteries and a temperature compensated battery
charger, which prevents overcharging. The load dependent end of the discharge voltage gives deep discharge protection
and the “no-load” shutdown maintains your battery’s operational life under no-load conditions.
UPS Monitoring and Management via SNMP
Data Protection & Monitoring:
The primary function of Always On™’s protection software is the safeguarding of data and the Operating Systems. Using
our software reduces the risk of system crashes and/or data loss. Always On™’s software provides event handling and
computer shutdown for all major operating systems to enhance security of critical data. Multi-vendor and multi-platform
environments, as well as client-server structures, are managed.
Direct access of remote UPS and active management of single modules in multi-unit configurations are the keys to
efficient and predictable power quality management. The SNMP Client/Agent structure, direct link, or remote connection
enables a network manager or facility engineer to permanently monitor and control local or remote Always On™’s UPS
systems and the equipment and processes they protect. Snap-in modules allow easy integration into the leading Network
Management Systems.
A real-time graphical display of critical UPS parameters and environment information of multiple decentralized UPS’s, as
well as statistical data and event log files, are available on every local computer display and network management system
or on the Internet. Additionally, UPS status information changes can be sent to such varied information carriers as SMS,
network management systems, e-mail or fax.
Options
Isolated Parallel Redundant Operation (IPRO)
Highest standard for reliability:
Power reliability is business reliability. Mission critical applications require the highest availability of power. Always On™’s
unique IPRO technology sets the highest standard for power reliability, and IPRO compatible NX Series UPS’s are field
upgradable. Additional units can be added to increase the total power output of a system or to create a redundant system
with no single point of failure. Decentralized bypass, redundant control electronics and redundant batteries offer perfect
load-sharing and fault-tolerant operations.
Protection:
Short circuit, over-temperature and over-voltage protection is built in to protect the NX Series UPS against any form of
misuse. Back-feed protection, complete protection circuits and excellent overload behaviour provide outstanding user
protection and application security, all in conjunction with full galvanic isolation on the output of every UPS system used in
the parallel operation.
Features and Benefits:
Up to eight NX Series units can be connected in a redundant-parallel system (N+1 redundant). It also features a
decentralized bypass, redundant control electronics, active-active system management and fault tolerant operation, as
well as a transparent fail over procedure in case of UPS failure or for maintenance and no single point of failure.
Drip Shield
The addition of a drip shield ensures that liquids and other debris do not enter your NX Series UPS through the top
cooling vents.

A separate cabinet to allow for complete removal of the UPS system from the load, while still supplying the
load with conditioned power. Always On™ offers various systems which include isolation transformers for
different voltage configurations, distribution panels, electro-mechanical interlock protection to ensure proper
operation, rotary switch operation and transient voltage surge suppression.
Systems are supplied in a matching cabinet or wall mounted cabinet. These systems are recommended for
maintenance purposes to prevent accidental removal of power from the loads and to allow for complete power
removal from the UPS system for safety considerations.

UPSmon Plus
Data and software protection
UPSmon Plus prevents your computer from crashing during a
power failure. If the UPS’s battery runs low, in the case of
power failure, UPSmon Plus will detect this and perform an
orderly shutdown of your computer before the battery runs out.
The auto-shutoff feature is also used to perform scheduled
shutdown and startup of your computer during normal
operations. With the use of your computer modem, UPSmon
Plus can send an event code to your pager to notify you of a
power related event on your system. A data recorder is also
featured that records power data in a graphic form to facilitate
analysis of power quality conditions.

UPSmon Plus Network lets you monitor and manage multiple

Data and software protection for the Network
UPSilon 2000 lets you monitor local UPS’s as well as remote
units by TCP/IP from your central location. UPSilon 2000 can
be configured to automatically send e-mails when an event
occurs such as a power outage. When an event occurs, it can
also call a pager with the use of a modem. The display is a real
time display of the graphical display of UPS status including
input/output voltage, frequency, load, temperature and capacity.
UPSilon 2000 will shutdown the system in a safe fashion before
the batteries run out and can also broadcast messages to
remote computers running ClientMate (included) and even send
them commands to shutdown.
INTEGRATED INTELLIGENT POWER MANAGEMENT (IIPM):
The IIPM packages are comprised of the SNMP Agent, an
SNMP adapter and onEvent. These are available to efficiently
control and manage the GES series UPS’s. Aside from running
on Windows 95/98/2000 and Windows NT, the excellent network
management features let you easily manage over the
Internet/Intranet using TCP/IP and Ethernet.
IIPM Features:
IIPM features remote monitoring and control via a TCP/IP
network and provides a hierarchical architecture to manage your
UPS’s. It also features notification via e-mail, pager, audible
alarm or broadcast and graceful graphics for monitoring and
displaying the real-time status of your UPS. IIPM also provides
remote shutdown, file saving and password protection.

“NFC” Series
FREQUENCY CONVERTERS: 50, 60, or 400Hz Input Frequency / 50, 60, or 400Hz User Defined Output Frequency
The Always On™ NFC Series Frequency Converters are manufactured to provide clean,
regulated and controlled power at the customer specified voltage and frequency. Based
on the Always On™ NX Series, the NFC Series provides clean, isolated, reliable and
consistent power to all critical loads at the expected levels required.
The NFC Series Frequency Converters are intelligent, dual conversion, on-line, three
phase systems for centralized frequency conversion, power protection and distribution.
The “dual conversion” means AC utility is converted into DC power which, in turn,
charges the batteries and supplies the inverter, which inverts the DC power back into
highly regulated and isolated AC power supplied at a user defined frequency (50, 60, or
400Hz). This continuous on-line Frequency Converter is available in models from
10kVA up to 250kVA. This dual conversion prevents power aberrations from affecting
the connected loads.
The NFC Series Frequency Converters provide reliable and robust protection and frequency conversion,
allowing for reliable and protected power to be available for all specific and critical loads.
Features and Benefits
Frequency Conversion: This permits the user to configure a system with any input voltage (208, 480 or 600)
and input frequency (50, 60, or 400Hz) with any output voltage (208/120, 480/277 or 600/347) and output
frequency (50, 60 or 400Hz), independent of the input configuration.
Full Galvanic Isolation: Full Galvanic Isolation provides a completely isolated and referenced output. This
isolation protection provides a proven solution to problems created by induced voltages affecting the critical
loads. Since the output circuit to the load is completely isolated and no noise induced on the neutral can
permeate to the loads, systems operate in a more reliable fashion. Also, this type of protection increases the
life span of equipment by eliminating noise, which breaks down components.
Modular Design: Each major component (inverter, rectifier and static switch) on the NFC Series Frequency
Converters are installed on slide-out modules. This allows for quick repair (mean time to repair of >30
minutes) and easy field upgradability.
High efficiency: Thanks to IGBT technology, the NFC Series Frequency Converters provide high efficiency
(up to 94.5%). This, combined with IPRO, results in the most cost-efficient and reliable UPS solution in the
industry.
Fully digital: DSP (Digital Signal Processor), flash memory and SVM strategy are the technology corner
stones of the new age of power quality and reliability.
Extremely flexible: The NFC Series Frequency Converters offer tailor-made power protection to comply with
your individual installation requirements. Options include a passive filter, a 12-pulse rectifier and a Smart
Panel (SP). In addition, a comprehensive software suite can be added for mission control and data protection.
Optional Battery Banks: Always On™ has also allowed for the option of back-up time to be added to the
system to eliminate the need of purchasing a UPS system and a frequency converter. This runtime package
will allow for UPS-like operation at a user defined frequency (50, 60, or 400Hz).

The Always On™ “ESE” TVSS filter is designed to protect, at the power panel, against externally and internally
produced power aberrations, massive impulses, lightning induced effects and interference associated with low frequency
harmonics and situations caused by accidents and/or failures in the electrical utility system. It is also totally compatible
with all operating loads, including high frequency power supplies and constant current loads controlled by electronic
switches.
APPLICATIONS:
Electrical Service Entrance filters protect the electronic and electrical equipment in the building by supplying power
protection at the main and sub-panel locations.
PROTECTION:
Our ESE’s offer high end protection for industrial and commercial environments and our specifically designed and tuned
circuitry provides protection against all potentially dangerous electrical aberrations. They eliminate and attenuate to safe
levels common and normal mode noise, massive surge impulses, indirect lightning strikes and their effects, interference
associated with low frequency harmonics, spikes and transients, as well as problems associated with electrical utility
failures caused by accidents, storms, etc.
Electrical and electronic equipment create their own power aberrations, which creates problems for other loads and
equipment ‘downstream’. These aberrations will travel down the power bus to the power panels, where they propagate to
other loads via other branch circuits.
By installing Always On™ ESE power panel protection devices, these problems will not occur.

1) For all New Residential, Commercial and Industrial Construction:
The ESE protects electronic equipment in new buildings (security, environmental, networking, communications,
appliances, systems, etc.) from potentially destructive and disruptive externally generated power spikes and transients,
massive surges, indirect lightning strikes, low frequency harmonics and common and normal mode noise.
2) For all Commercial and Industrial Retrofits:
In commercial and industrial environments, the ESE offers the same features as above and protects ‘downstream’ branch
panels from externally and internally generated power aberrations such as spikes, transients, massive surges, low
frequency harmonics and common and normal mode noise.

Among other applications, the PLC Protector can be applied to PLC’s, robotics, CAD/CAM, alarm systems, scanners,

Series Hybrid Design
Sine wave tracking TVSS technology ensures fast and immediate attenuation of the harmful spikes, transients and both
common and normal mode noise. The added data line filter ensures that the 2+2 Filter will protect the attached
network/communication link from all potential problems. The Always On™ 2+2 filter is the only filter that offers all modes
of protection on both the power line and the data line. The Always On™ 2+2 one-two punch will guarantee maximum
runtimes for your equipment, resulting in higher production and profits, while decreasing downtime and equipment repair

Suppression / Attenuation
The “cutting edge” technology contained in the Always On™ 2+2 and 2+0 filters allow normal mode noise attenuation up
to 85dB and for common mode noise attenuation up to 50dB. It filters bandwidths of 10kHz to 100MHz, with a total peak
surge current of 32,500 amps, while providing a response time of less than 1 nanosecond.
Functioning Indicator
The easily seen three colour LED informs the user of the working status of the Always On™ 2+2 and 2+0 filter.
Optional Communications
Form A, B or C contacts allow the user to monitor the status of the 2+2 or 2+0 filter from a remote location.
Mounting Options
The 2+2 and 2+0 come standard with J-Rail or an optional flange mounting is available.

TTF/ILF-12015
WITH OPTIONAL BY-PASS SWITCH
The Always On™ TTF/ILF (Toroidal Isolating Line Filter) combines a low-pass series filter with a toroidal isolation transformer. The TTF/ILF
provides for total protection against all power aberrations and eliminates any troublesome constant voltages which may exist between neutral and
ground in some electrical configurations. It is totally compatible with all operating loads including high frequency switching power supplies.
Some optional features that can be added are the manual by-pass switch or an automatic bypass switch.
The manual bypass switch will transfer the load from UPS supplied power to a filtered and isolated AC utility upon user operated switching. This will
allow for removal of the UPS system without powering down or exposing your critical loads.
The automatic by-pass switch will automatically transfer the load from UPS supplied power in the event of a premature shutdown for whatever
reason without powering down your critical loads.
The TTF/ILF corrects ground fault problems and eliminates neutral voltages by re-establishing the “zero” volt ground reference point. It provides
excellent noise protection, eliminating problems caused by normal mode and common mode noise, as well as other electrical aberrations such as:
transients, spikes, surges harmonics and lightning induced voltages.

AURORA SINGLE ∅ EMERGENCY LIGHTING INVERTER (ELI)
AURORA Series Emergency Lighting AC Inverters are among the most reliable central systems available for emergency
lighting and other demanding critical applications.
The AURORA Series Emergency Lighting AC Inverters are Dual Conversion, On-line, single-phase, intelligent systems for
centralized power protection and distribution. The Dual Conversion means it converts the incoming AC power to DC,
charges the batteries, then inverts the DC back into highly regulated isolated AC power. These continuous on-line
Emergency Lighting AC Inverters are available in models from 3kW to15kW.
The AURORA Series Emergency Lighting AC Inverters provide reliable and constant protection for life safety emergency
lighting, and infrastructure applications such as airports, hospitals, and residences.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
These ELI’s provide full time self-diagnostics as well as two levels of audible alarms when the unit is operating in battery
mode. A manual test function has been incorporated into the input/test breakers that make battery testing a simple and
safe procedure. The internal bypass switch allows maintenance on the ELI’s to be performed without interruption of power
to the load.
The communications port, in conjunction with multi-platform monitoring and control software, enables the unit to be
connected to a local or networked computer system. Detailed operating information including voltages, currents, and
alarm status is available to the monitoring system.
Full Galvanic Isolation: Provides a completely isolated and re-reference output. This isolation protection provides a
proven solution to problems created by induced voltages affecting the critical loads. Since the output circuit to the load is
completely isolated and no noise induced on the neutral can permeate to the loads, systems operate in a more reliable
fashion.
Fully digital: CPU control, flash memory, and PWM strategy are the technology corner stones of the new age of power
quality and reliability.
Extremely flexible: The AURORA Series offers tailor-made power protection to comply with your individual installation
requirements. Options include additional runtime, remote monitoring panel, and distribution panels. In addition, a
comprehensive software suite can be added for mission control and data protection-covers all your application needs.
IMBS: An internal maintenance bypass switch is standard with all AURORA single phase inverter units.
EMI suppression: An EMI filter is added to meet the international EMC limits to ensure that no noise will effect or
interfere with other equipment connected to the same AC source.
High frequency design: The inverter design incorporates high frequency, high efficiency Insulated Gate Bi-polar
Transistors (IGBT). A PWM wave, synchronized to the bypass input, triggers the IGBT’s, which invert the DC into AC
power required by the loads. This design decreases the number of required components, increases reliability and
performance while decreasing acoustic noise, size and weight.
Cold start function: The AURORA can be started without the utility AC supply being activated, or present at the input
terminal strip because our system is designed with current limiting circuitry, which allows startup of the AURORA on
battery DC power.
Intelligent charger: The AURORA will perform an automatic monthly recharge (boost charge) of the batteries as well as
automatically recharge (boost charge) the batteries when the battery voltage level decreases to approximately 2V/Cell. It
makes the batteries stay in good condition.
Intelligent battery test: The batteries are tested monthly automatically. When an abnormal condition (low charge rating,
or bad battery) is found the user will be informed immediately through alarms on the AURORA systems.
MTBF of cooling fans: Long cycling fans will operate at variable speeds necessary which is dependent on the load of the
inverter systems increasing the life expectancy of the fan motors.
OPTIONS
Output Circuit Breakers: Supports normally on or normally off circuit breakers.
Additional Run Times: These can be 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes, other configurations are available.
EMBP: External Maintenance Bypass. This device allows the load power to be transferred from the inverter output to the
AC supply. Thus the inverter can be completely removed or repaired without interruption of power to the load.
RCMP: Remote Control and Monitoring Panel. This option provides remote alarms to indicate the inverter status.
SNMP: SNMP adapter to remotely control and monitor the unit via a network or the Internet.
RTS: Remote terminal strip

BOREALIS THREE ∅ EMERGENCY LIGHTING INVERTER (ELI)
BOREALIS Series Emergency Lighting AC Inverters are among the most reliable systems available for emergency
lighting and other demanding critical applications.
The BOREALIS Series Emergency Lighting AC Inverters are Dual Conversion, On-line, three-phase, intelligent systems
for centralized power protection. These continuous on-line Emergency Lighting AC Inverters are available in models from
8kW up to 48kW.
For redundant applications, the BOREALIS Series Emergency Lighting AC Inverters can be installed in parallel, achieving
isolated and redundant power protection. Isolated Parallel Redundant Operation (IPRO) is a feature of Always On™
BOREALIS Series Emergency Lighting AC Inverters, whereby the systems are controlled in a true peer-to-peer
configuration with redundancy in all critical elements and functions. This advanced technology provides greater system
reliability and expandability for mission critical applications.
The BOREALIS Series Emergency Lighting AC Inverters provide reliable and constant protection for mission critical
emergency lighting, and infrastructure applications such as airports, hospitals, and financial companies.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
These ELI’s provide full time self-diagnostics as well as two levels of audible alarms when the unit is operating in battery
mode. A manual test switch has been incorporated into the input/test breakers that make testing a simple procedure. The
internal bypass switch allows maintenance on the ELI’s to be performed without interruption of power to the load.
The communications port, in conjunction with multi-platform monitoring and control software, enables the unit to be
connected to a local or networked computer system. Detailed operating information including voltages, currents, and
alarm status is available to the monitoring system.
Full Galvanic Isolation: Provides a completely isolated and re-reference output. This isolation protection provides a
proven solution to problems created by induced voltages affecting the critical loads. Since the output circuit to the load is
completely isolated and no noise induced on the neutral can permeate to the loads, systems operate in a more reliable
fashion.
Fully digital: DSP (Digital Signal Processor), flash memory, and multi-contact strategy are the technology corner stones
of the new age of power quality and reliability.
Extremely flexible: The BOREALIS Series offers tailor-made power protection to comply with your individual installation
requirements. Options include passive filter, 12-pulse rectifier, and distribution panels.
IMBS: An internal maintenance bypass switch is standard with all BOREALIS 3 phase inverter units.
EMI suppression: An EMI filter is added to meet the international EMC limits to ensure that no noise will effect or
interfere with other equipment connected to the same AC source.
High frequency design: The three phase BOREALIS design incorporates a full bridge three-phase inverter. This design
makes the BOREALIS perform better than other Emergency Lighting AC Inverters in the market when an unbalanced load
is connected.
Cold start function: The BOREALIS can be started without the utility AC supply being activated, or present at the input
terminal strip because our system is designed with current limiting circuitry, which allows Startup of the BOREALIS on
battery DC power.
Intelligent charger: The BOREALIS will perform an automatic monthly recharge (boost charge) of the batteries as well as
automatically recharge (boost charge) the batteries when the battery voltage level decreases to approximately 2V/Cell. It
makes the batteries stay in good condition.
Intelligent battery test: The batteries are tested monthly automatically. When an abnormal condition (low charge rating,
or bad battery) is found the user will be informed immediately through alarms on the BOREALIS systems.
MTBF of cooling fans: Long cycling fans will operate at variable speeds necessary which is dependent on the load of the
inverter systems increasing the life expectancy of the fan motors.
SNMP: SNMP adapter to remotely control and monitor the unit via a network or the Internet.
OPTIONS
Output Circuit Breakers: Supports normally on or normally off circuit breakers.
Additional Run Times: These can be 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes, other configurations are available.
EMBP: External Maintenance Bypass. This device allows the load power to be transferred from the inverter output to the
AC supply. Thus the inverter can be completely removed or repaired without interruption of power to the load.
RCMP: Remote Control and Monitoring Panel. This option provides remote alarms to indicate the inverter status.
RTS: Remote terminal strip
