One SYNC-CLOCK™ controls the whole instrument, either
generated internally or from external sync interfaces like
DEWE-CLOCK. This SYNC-CLOCK™ technology allows
synchronizing several independent systems even without
physical connection. Each system can have hundreds of
channels.
The ingenious driver and software design is the base
for outstanding power and flexibility in applications. The
incomparable DEWE-ORION data acquisition cards and
the accurate HSI, DAQP and MDAQ modules guarantee
measurements with highest precision even in harsh environments.

The computer part of each instrument is based on qualified

Modes of Operation and Typical Applications
Direct Single Unit Operation
The most common use of All-In-One Instruments is to perform measurements with a single unit. Setup for each individual measurement task is done on-site and data is viewed
online on the integrated screen during the measurement.
Typical applications are all mobile measurements, field
service, maintenance, debug and diagnostic tasks and
bringing into service tasks.
Some examples: in-vehicle data recording, rotating machine
balancing, rotational and torsional vibration measurements,
sound measurements, human body vibration analyses,
power measurements and many more.
Remote Single Unit Operation
A popular way of using All-In-One Instruments for certain
tasks is to remote control the unit by another computer.
Software option DEWESOFT-OPT-NET is required for this
mode. It means that the remote computer 100 % controls
the instrument and e.g. starts storing. For live data view all
or a selection of activated channels are transferred to the
remote computer. Data can be stored on the instrument
and on the remote computer as well.
A typical application is measuring in dangerous environments (e.g. on an engine test stand) and online view the
data on a PC outside the test chamber.
Long Time Monitoring at Outlying Plants
In such case the instrument is setup and connected locally
once and starting from then it stays unattended for a long
time. For accessing the unit from anywhere we connect to
a UMTS modem and use internet for viewing the data.

Most flexible model, prepared for DAQP isolated analog input amplifier modules. DAQP conditioners offer highest
bandwidth, great accuracy, different input ranges and integrated filters. Besides the single channel modularity – a
module easily can be changed by the user at any time – the main advantage of these modules is the high galvanic
isolation which ensures safe measurements, high quality results and make them almost indestructible. See chapter
“Signal Conditioning” for details.

This option turns your DEWE-2600 into a fully battery powered instrument. The
hot-swappable batteries guarantee continuous operation without an external
power source. The instrument provides 3 slots for BAT-95WH batteries and can
be operated for up to ~2 hours with 3 batteries installed. Since this time depends
a lot on the system configuration the battery status is shown directly in the software. Also alarm conditions can be set and the battery parameters can be displayed as additional measurement channels. Operating temperature is limited to
0 .. 45° C when batteries are charged.

Channel Expansion
Signal conditioning for slow signals is added by connecting EPAD2 series modules to the systems EPAD interface.
For expanding the number of dynamic channels there are three choices:
Analog cable: Additional A/D
boards are installed into the basic
instrument and external signal conditioning, e.g. DAQ modules in a
DEWE-30 chassis, is connected by
means of an analog signal cable.

PCI expansion: A PCI-HOST card
is installed into the basic instrument and external signal conditioning, e.g. DAQ modules in a
DEWE-50 chassis, is connected by
means of a PCI cable.
DEWE-NET: Several instruments are connected via Ethernet. Each unit requires
an ORION-SYNC option. For short distances a sync cable is used if the units
are far from each other a sync interface
like DEWE-CLOCK is used.

ORION Sync option
The DEWE-UPS-300-DC is an external DC uninterruptible power supply with up to four
internal high capacity batteries. It can be used to power instruments with wide range DC
input for hours. A typical DEWE-3300 can be operated for approx. 4 hours using DEWEUPS-300-DC. In addition the batteries are hot-swappable and so enable you to run the
instrument infinitely by changing batteries every few hours. External battery chargers are
available, too. If the DEWE-UPS-300-DC is externally powered it also serves as a multibattery charger.
