Operator Workstation
use standard Heating, Ventilating, and
Air Conditioning (HVAC), fire, and security
symbols to show the current status of field
equipment. Linked graphical screens allow
the operator to penetrate the system one level
at a time.
A wide variety of software features come
standard with the Operator Workstation PMI.
Features like Point History, Trend, and
Totalization keep records of how the values of
monitored points change over time. Password
keeps the system safe from non-authorized
users. Demand Limiting and Load Rolling
reduce utility expenses by selectively turning
off loads.
Description
The Metasys® Operator Workstation PersonMachine Interface (PMI) is a full-featured,
mouse-driven user interface that enables the
operator to perform a wide variety of facility
management functions. With the workstation
PMI, the operator can monitor and control the
facility, examine historical and current
information about facility operations, and
define points and features. In addition, the
Operator Workstation itself can be used to
create control strategies using one of the
Metasys programming languages.
The Operator Workstation PMI displays
facility conditions both textually and
graphically. The text-based Network Map
shows a hierarchial representation of the
entire system. High-resolution color graphics
Graphic, trend, alarm management, and
password features can be further
enhanced by installing M5 Workstation
and M-Graphics software on the OWS.
The Operator Workstation can also be used to
create control strategies for Metasys, such as
set point reset and air volume control. Two
programming tools, available separately, can
be used: JC-BASIC and the Graphic
Programming Language (GPL).

Suppresses COS reporting for selected points when a binary point is in a
