Solar Display goes Blank in Low Light



This is a power saving feature of the station.
To turn this feature off, scroll through the program menu to SOL ON.
Press and release the PLUS button to change SOL to OFF.
Solar Display is Blank all the time





This is often a power related issue. Remove the battery from display for at least 2-hours.
Move the battery selector to the left.
Press a button 20 times to discharge random electricity.
Install fresh alkaline battery with correct polarity.
If the display does not show lines or numbers with in 30 seconds (will always show red
and green half circle on top), the display may need to be replaced.

This atomic wall clock offers 25 time zones: 0-GMT
North American Time Zones are negative numbers.

Atlantic
-5h EST
Eastern
-6h CST
Central
-7h MST
Mountain
-8h PST
Pacific
-9h ALA
Alaskan
-10h HAW
Hawaiian
+1 to +12 and -1 to -12
12-Hour or 24-Hour Time Format



Choose to display time in 12-hour or 24-hour format.
Default is 12-hour time.
Use the Program Menu to switch time formats.
Power Requirements

1-AA Alkaline Rechargeable or plain Alkaline battery power the atomic wall clock.
Manually Set Time/Date: Program Menu
Use the SET button to move through the program menu and the PLUS button to make
changes.










TIME ZONE: The Time Zone will flash, showing a number following by the letter h. Use
the PLUS to change the Time Zone. Please note North American Time Zones are
negative numbers: -4h ATL, -5h EST, -6h CST, -7h MST, -8h PST, -9h ALA and -10h
HAW. Press and release the SET button once.
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME: DST will show with either ON or OFF flashing. Most
states use DST, so this should be set to ON. However if your location does not use DST,
use the PLUS button to turn it OFF. Press and release the SET button once.
LANGUAGE: Select from US (English), F (France), E (Spanish), or d (Deutsch). The
day of the week will display in the selected Language.
HOUR: The Hour will flash. Use the PLUS button to set the Hour. When in 12-hour
Time Mode, be sure to set the Hour for am or pm. Press and release the SET button
once.
MINUTES: The Minutes will flash. Use the PLUS button to set the Minutes. Press and
release the SET Button once.
YEAR: The Year will flash. Use the PLUS button to set the Year. Press and release the
SET button once.
MONTH: The Month will flash. Use the PLUS button to set the Month. Press and
release the SET button once.
DATE: The numeric day will flash. Use the PLUS button to set the date correctly.
WEEKDAY: The alphabetic Day will flash. Use the PLUS button to set to the correct
Day.
12/24-HOUR TIME MODE: Either 12or 24 will flash on the display. Use PLUS button
to change from 12 to 24 hour format time. Press and release the SET button once.


FAHRENHEIT OR CELSIUS: A degree symbol will flash, followed by F or C. Use the
PLUS button to change to the preference. Press and release the SET button once.
SOLAR MODE: SOL will show with either ON or OFF flashing. The Solar Mode is used for
saving the power consumption of the rechargeable battery (Default setting ON). Press
the PLUS button to switch between ON or OFF. Press and release the SET button once.
Note: If the solar mode setting is ON:
 LCD will automatically turn OFF if the environment is too dark
 LCD will automatically turn ON if the environment is bright enough; the surrounding
environment brightness is checked every 5 seconds
 No information will be displayed when the LCD is OFF, but all the settings and operations
will remain, except for the temperature and humidity measurements.
Note: If the solar mode setting is OFF:
 LCD will remain ON constantly.
Set Time Alarm
Use the ALM button to move through the program menu and the PLUS button to make
changes.
 HOUR: Press and hold the ALM button for five seconds. The Alarm Time will flash and
“ALARM” and alarm icon ((●)) will display. Press and release the PLUS button to adjust
the Hour (watch for am or pm). Press and release the ALARM button to advance to the
minutes.
 MINUTES: Press and release the PLUS button to adjust the Minutes. Press and release
the ALM button and you are done.
Activate/Deactivate Time Alarm




Press and release the ALARM button. When the alarm time and Alarm Icon (((●))) are
showing to the right of the minutes, the alarm is activated.
Unit will return to actual time but continue showing the alarm icon (((●))).
To turn off the alarm function, press and release the alarm button.
The Icon will no longer be displayed when the alarm is off.
Snooze Time



Press SNZ to silence an active alarm for 10 minutes.
The alarm icon will flash.
Press any button to stop the alarm for 24 hours
No WWVB Tower Icon




The atomic wall clock has not received a WWVB time signal in the past 24-hours.
Position the atomic wall clock for better reception.
Be sure you have good batteries in the atomic wall clock.
Allow up to 5 nights to receive the time signal.
Dashes, OFL or Stuck Indoor Temperature





This is generally a power related issue.
Batteries may be overpowered or underpowered. Remove batteries from atomic wall
clock.
Press any button 20 times. Leave the atomic wall clock unpowered for 1-2 hours.
Install fresh alkaline batteries with correct polarity.
If the indoor temperature is still dashes or OFL, the atomic wall clock may need to be
replaced.
Time is off by hours




Check to see if the WWVB Tower icon appears on the atomic wall clock. If not, the atomic
wall clock has not received a WWVB time signal in the past 24-hours.
Reposition the atomic wall clock with the front or back facing Colorado.
Check that the time zone selected, correctly reflects your location. Adjust the time zone
in the Program Menu.
Check that the DST indicator is correct for your location (most areas observe DST so this
should be ON). Adjust the DST indicator in the Program Menu.
Display has missing segments (all or part of a number or letter are missing).



This is generally a power related issues. Battery may be overpowered or underpowered.
Remove the battery from display for at least 2-hours. Install a fresh alkaline battery with
correct polarity.
If the display still has missing segments the display may need to be replaced.
Display looks garbled (everything is hard to read and looks overwritten).







If this is a new display, please be sure the printed scratch guard has been removed from
the face of the display. This thin piece of plastic has printed numbers for store displays.
With all power removed the display should be blank (will always show red and green half
circle on top).
If numbers still appear, please check for scratch guard.
This is generally a power related issues. Battery may be overpowered or underpowered.
Remove the battery from display. Press any button 20 times.
Leave the battery out of the display for 1-2 hours.
Install fresh battery with correct polarity.
If the display is still garbled, the display may need to be replaced.
The display is dim.






Please note if the display is dim at every angle. Many displays are designed to sit at an
angle on the table. The display generally has a gray background.
If the display is left in the sun it may develop a cloudy discoloration.
This can be a power related issue. Battery may be overpowered or underpowered.
Remove battery from display. Leave the battery out of the display for 1-2 hours.
Install fresh battery with correct polarity.
If the display is still dim the display may need to be replaced.
Display drains the battery quickly.

A battery should last 1-year, or more if the battery is good when inserted. If the battery
in the display is not lasting that long, please try these tasks:
 Test a new alkaline battery. Write down the date of installation and the voltage of
the battery.
 When the battery fails, please note the date and voltage again. This is helpful in
determining the problem.
Indoor Temperature is showing dashes or OFL (outside factory limits).





This is generally a power related issues. Battery may be overpowered or underpowered.
Remove the battery from display. Press any button 20 times.
Leave the battery out of the display for 1-2 hours.
Install fresh battery with correct polarity.
If the indoor temperature is still dashes or OFL, the display may need to be replaced.
Indoor Temperature is inaccurate.
 Place the display next to (within 1 foot) the thermostat for 2-hours.
 The temperature readings should be within 4 degrees to be within tolerance.

Look for sources of heat or cold that may affect the display. Consider vents, window
and doorframes, sunlight, etc.
Select Fahrenheit/Celsius:

Use the program menu to select Fahrenheit or Celsius temperature reading.
