MARVY UCHIDA DECOFABRIC MARKERS
• ODORLESS • LIGHT FAST • ACID FREE • WATER BASED • PERMANENT AFTER HEAT SETTING
1. Before each initial use, shake marker with cap on for 20 seconds blend the ink.
2. Remove the cap. Press the nib down several times on a paper towel until color appears.
After use, lightly replace the cap.
3. Always test marker on a small piece of similar material before applying it to the actual project,
or test it on an inconspicuous area.
4. DecoFabric markers work best on cotton-based and blend fabrics. They do not bond to non-absorbent surfaces,
like nylon, vinyl or leather. DecoFabric markers are not recommended for use on silk, because the colors will
bleed and harden.
5. Smooth fabrics, like fine wovens, cotton T-shirts, denim or linen work best.
6. Apply to prewashed fabrics.
7. Use soap and water for cleaning up.
8. When covering large areas with color, it is important to periodically stop and shake the marker with the cap
on, or press down on the tip to increase the flow of the ink.
9. Several coats may be necessary to achieve the right color, especially on darker fabrics. Two to three coats will
provide good color coverage. Allow to dry slightly 30 minutes or more, between applications.
HEAT SETTING IS RECOMMENDED.
1. Before heat setting, dry painted fabric flat for a few hours. For best results, allow to dry overnight.
2. Place a pressing cloth over the painted area, before ironing.
3. Use the manufacturer’s fabric setting for the iron to prevent burning the painted area and to keep the bottom
of the iron clean.
WASHING:

3. Do not dry clean.
