Solid as a rock!
Soliroc, which translates to ‘rock solid’, is the new extra
heavy duty range of wiring devices from Legrand designed
specifically to be a more attractive solution for exposed
or unsupervised premises. Suitable for both indoor and
outdoor applications, the metal alloy finish applied to the
plates guarantees strong resistance to scratches, graffiti
and lighter flames and the rounded shape prevents a
firm grasp. All Soliroc plates are supplied with tamper
proof caps that are only removable by drilling. All covered
modules can withstand impacts of 20 joules and all units
are IP55 weatherproof. These features make Soliroc ideal
to use on installations such as:
■ Sports & entertainment venues
■ Offices
■ Open spaces
■ Warehouses
■ Shops
■ Schools
■ Detention centres
■ Medical facilities
■ Childcare centres
Soliroc uses a universal support frame with a 71mm
fixing centre for easy installation. More than 50 Arteor
mechanisms - including switches, sockets, RCBOs, RJ
sockets, HDMI and TV sockets - can be easily snapped into
the support frame, proving Soliroc is flexible, as well as
incredibly strong.

Visibility drives savings
An aware user is one that saves. Studies have
shown that displaying energy consumption results
in users changing their routines or correcting faults
which lead to energy-savings of 10-15%. With
Legrand SCS control systems it’s easy to see how
much gas and electricity a residence is consuming.
With a few simple components, property owners can
view energy usage data in a user-friendly format on
a colour touchscreen. They can also see the energy
and hot water output they are receiving from their
solar panels.
Consumption display
The energy data collection devices can be
integrated directly on the BUS of the Automation/
temperature control system, or be part of a
dedicated system, as shown in the diagram below.
In this case a power supply will be necessary
to power the BUS, and touchscreen, to display
consumption levels.
10“ colour touchscreen
Load management control
The Legrand system manages maximum power
used by automatically disconnecting appliances in
a prioritised order when a predetermined electrical
consumption level is reached. For more
information please ask for the ‘Solutions for the
display of energy-management and load control
management’ brochure.

Pulse counter interface
This device detects, counts, and processes the
information received from meters with pulse
outputs; the data is then made available to the
SCS BUS, and displayed on the touchscreens.
The processing and accounting functions are:
■ Instantaneous consumption (calculated as the
average of 2 pulses received during the time
unit);
■ Hourly, daily and monthly consumption (one
year memory). The device may be installed in
flush mounted boxes, behind traditional type
devices, or also inside distribution boards, but
without taking up any DIN rail space

systems. The device is supplied with 1 toroid and
corresponding connection cable; it is suitable for
installation inside distribution boards and
switchboards and requires the space of 1 DIN
module.

Central unit for load management
This device is capable of measuring the input
power from the electrical system and to control
the status of the actuators of the load management system, to prevent the risk of tripping of the
power meter. The central unit manages up to 63
appliances or electric loads per each phase,
measures currents and voltages, and processes
these data to provide energy and power
information.The processing and accounting

Actuator 16A
The device is an actuator capable of performing
both energy management and automation
functions. The actuator is suitable for installation
inside distribution boards and switchboards and
requires the space of 1 DIN module.
The device is an actuator with an integrated
current sensor for the measurement of controlled
load consumptions (instantaneous consumption
and 2 independently resettable energy totalisers),
and is capable of performing both energy
management and automation functions. When
configured in energy management mode, it gives
the possibility of measuring the load input power,
the power and the earth leakage current (through
the connection of an external toroid. The
actuator is suitable for installation inside
distribution boards and switchboards and requires
the space of 1 DIN module.

New Apps make light
work for electrical
contractors
Electrical contractors can help clients choose
accessories for their homes and businesses by using
two new colour selector apps available for iPhones
and iPads.
The just-released HPM Linea and Legrand Arteor
apps give contractors a convenient and easy way to
help homeowners choose their electrical fittings and
provide another tool to help contractors upsell their
customers to more premium products.
By taking photos of walls, benchtops, splashbacks
and tiles, uploading digital images to the app, and
then placing their light switch selection against the
surfaces, clients can virtually try the product before
they buy.
Arteor Colour Selector
These handy apps are FREE from iTunes and can be
used on iPhones and iPads.
How to Guide:
• Download the two apps from iTunes and browse all the
colour and design options
• Choose a background colour from the library provided
or upload a photo of a wall or surface material
• Select from light switches or powerpoints, then try
out the 18 Linea coverplate colours and the 17 Arteor
styles and finishes, and find the preferred combination
• The selected accessories can be rotated and scaled
against a photo of a surface to give an accurate picture
of how the light switch will look in a particular setting
• Save favourite combinations for later reference or
email selections for ordering and purchasing
