AM loop antenna PHONES Connect the AM loop antenna to the player. *AC/DC adaptor : SL-A108 3.5 mm headphone jack. 2 Connect the FM antenna The reception will be enhanced when the two loose ends of the antenna are stretched as horizontally as possible. CD slot loader • Do not force a disc into the CD slot. • Do not pull or push a disc while a disc is ejected. • Press Z EJECT again to reinsert the disc after ejecting it. iPod DOCK VOLUME Control the volume when using any function. DISPLAY WINDOW About Remote control Turn on or off Press 1 for longer than 3 seconds as the device is powered on, you can activate POWER SAVE MODE. Search for a section within a track • Speed search for tracks • Skip to another track • Search for a folder of MP3/WMA files When a CD containing MP3/WMA files in several folders is being played, press FOLDER•PRESET to select the folder you want to play. The tuner will scan automatically and stop when it finds a radio station. Delete all the saved stations Press and hold x ENTER on the remote control for two seconds. “ERASE” shows. Press x ENTER on the remote control to erase all the saved stations. Choose a ‘preset number’ for a radio station Select a station you want by pressing ./>. Press x ENTER, the station flashes. Press FOLDER•PRESET on the remote control to select the preset number you want. Press x ENTER to save it. To improve poor FM reception Press MO./ST. on the player. This will change the tuner to mono and usually improve the reception. Make sure antenna is connected securely. HD Radio Reception 9 Digital HD Radio broadcasting offers higher sound quality than analog radio. On it, you can select additional digital information and listen to FM with the same quality as that of CD, FM with the same quality as that of AM, and various kinds of programs. Any other signal interruption that was produced on analog AM and FM is absent. When toggling S.MODE on the remote control on TUNER mode, the mode is changed into SEEK (seek mode) and HD SEEK (HD seek mode) repeatedly. • SEEK : searches frequencies for alalog & digital broadcasting • HD SEEK : searches frequencies for digital broadcasting When searching channels with ./> for longer than 1 second, both analog and digital broadcasting signals are searched. The signal is changed in the following order; analog -> digital. When digital signals are detected, “HD” indicator is turned on. Whenever toggling DISP., channel name, artist, title are selected repeatedly. Press ./> while HD Radio broadcasting signal is received, sub channels are changed. Use your player as an alarm clock MP3/WMA Disc compatibility with this unit is limited as follows: • Sampling Frequency : 8 - 48 kHz (MP3), 32 - 48 kHz (WMA) • Bit rate : 8 - 320 kbps (MP3), 48 - 320 kbps (WMA) • CD-R physical format should be “ISO 9660” • If you record MP3/WMA files using the software which cannot create a FILE SYSTEM, for example “Direct-CD” etc., it is impossible to playback MP3 files. We recommend that you use “Easy-CD Creator”, which creates an ISO 9660 file system. • Do not use special letters such as “/ : * ? “ < >”etc. • Even if the total number of files on the disc has more than 1000, it will only show up to 999. 11 Press and hold ALARM on the player for two seconds. Press ./> repeatedly, the display changes in the following order, AM, FM, CD, USB. Press ALARM when the function you want to be woken by is showing. Next, you set the time to get alarm activated. Use ./> to change the hours and minutes and ALARM to save. Next, the volume (VOL) setting display appears. Use ./> to change the volume and ALARM to save. The clock icon shows that the alarm is set. Switch the system off. When the system is turned off, you can check the time the alarm is set for by pressing ALARM. You can also turn the alarm on and off by pressing ALARM. NOTES : • If you don’t set clock, the alarm function doesn’t work. • When any button is not pressed for longer than 5 minutes with the alarm beeping, the alarm is automatically canceled. SNOOZE function This function wakes you up every 5 minutes if you do not turn off the alarm. When alarm is on and you press CLOCK or ALARM, CD or USB is changed into pause & mute. The tuner is on mute mode for 5 minutes and then changed into play & mute off. TABLETOP AUDIO SYSTEM ] USER GUIDE Cause An unplayable disc is inserted. The disc is dirty. Correction Replace the battery with new one. Point the remote control at the remote sensor of the unit. Operate the remote control within about 16 ft (5 m). Remove the obstacle. Charge the ipod. iPod is automatically charged when connected to the player. Connect it to the unit correctly. Connect the antenna securely. Insert a playable disc. Clean the disc. The power cord is not plugged in. Plug in the power cord. Check whether electricity failed. Check the condition by operating other electronic devices.
