Conversion Kit
Thermoplastic thermocouple and RTD connection
heads are molded from Delrin
900 HP. They meet NEMA 4
requirements for indoor or
outdoor non-hazardous use
and protect against dust, rain,
splashing water, and hosedirected water.
Although this material is
attacked by strong acids, it
provides good resistance to
most acid solutions, alkalines,
salt water, and provides good weathering resistance to sunlight. The
white unpigmented Delrin head is FDA compliant for use in sanitary
applications. These heads, and the Epichlorydrin non-asbestos gasket,
have a continuous use temperature rating of 275° F. The cover is
chained to the body with stainless steel and pins. All heads have 1/2"
NPT process openings and 3/4" NPT conduit openings.

Maintaining a clean environment is critical to many processes. It is

Frequently, diaphragm seals are installed to protect instruments,
but the added costs and possible degradation or ambient temperature
effects don’t always make for a viable solution. UE’s direct acting
sensors (no liquid fill) feature zero dead-leg, eliminating space that can
trap bacteria. The flush mounted sensing diaphragms are available in
popular Tri-Clamp® sizes.
Their modular design enables these clean process sensors to be used
on a wide range of UE products.
Light-weight, one-piece construction characterizes the H100 and
H117 pressure switches for general purpose or Division 2 hazardous
locations. The H119 and H118 feature innovative dual barrier, 3-chamber

The compact One Series sanitary model sensor has a length of only
2”. The sanitary One includes a piezo-resistive sensor with a Neobee
M-20 oil fill, designed to meet FDA requirements for food and pharmaceutical processes.
A local indicator and remote “I Am Working” (IAW™) status signal
provide continuous notification that the device is powered and
operating. It also indicates whether or not the switch has tripped,
assuring you that the switch will perform when called upon.
A 10-bit analog-to-digital converter and software calibration provide
a highly accurate, stable reading of the process variable. Calibration
constants are stored in non-volatile memory to ensure setpoint
repeatability. A 15 Amp, 280 VAC solid-state relay provides local high
level switching for actuation or shutdown of your system. The selfcontained, compact package allows for easy retrofit of traditional
switches or transmitters.
“I Am Working” (IAW) Function
The One Series provides a continuous indication of its health and the
switch output status, both locally and remotely. An LED on the front
panel and a discrete logic output signal are used to communicate three
states: (1) I Am Working but I Have Not Switched, (2) I Am Working and
I Have Switched, and (3) I Am Not Working.
The One Series IAW feature diagnoses the health of the sensor,
software, microprocessor, and power supply. And, it does all this on a
continuous basis. Used in conjunction with the standard switch output,
the IAW signal can even help satisfy many DPDT requirements.
Functions of the IAW signal are as follows:
Continuous ON
Normal operation, unit working properly.
Pulsed ON and OFF Beyond setpoint, unit working properly.
Continuous OFF
Loss of power or unit inoperable.
Setpoint and deadband values are adjustable over the full range
span using a convenient, simple-to-operate, front-panel keypad. Access
to the programming mode requires a simple, yet tamper-proof, key
sequence — better than password protection.
The user-friendly adjustment of the One Series eliminates the need
to trade wide range adjustability for a narrow deadband. There’s no
more guessing about setpoint or deadband values, or the effect of
hysteresis on the switch. All values can be displayed locally at the touch
of a single button, and adjusted to any point in the operating range.
The One Series provides four convenient switch operating modes
that determine the function of the switch output, deadband, LED
status indicator, and IAW signal. The switch can operate as a high or low
limit alarm, high limit shutdown, or low limit shutdown.
You can wire the unit, then select your desired switch output (NO or
NC) from a menu on the front panel display. With a few keystrokes, you
can set the operation of the switch, the deadband, and status LED and
IAW outputs. Instead of rewiring when your application needs change,
you reconfigure the unit with a single button.

WIKA sanitary transmitters meet 3A
criteria for pressure and level measurement
processes in the food, dairy, pharmaceutical,
cosmetic, and beverage industries.
Type 891-13-500-3A (S-10-3A) units (left)
feature ±0.5% span accuracy and a 316
stainless steel flush diaphragm to minimize
product buildup. The food-grade liquidfilled, sealed sensing system is designed
for Clean-In-Place and Sterilize-In-Place
maintenance.
The low-pressure type 891-13-525 (S11-3A) series (right) is designed for media temperatures to 257°F. For
temperatures to 300°F, you can add a cooling extension between the
tri-clamp and the transmitter body.
Each unit undergoes quality control testing and calibration to achieve
an accuracy of ±0.25% full scale. The printed circuit board uses state-of-
the-art surface mount technology, and is potted in silicone gel for
protection against vibration, shock, and moisture. These transmitters
are temperature compensated to ensure accuracy and long-term
stability under extreme temperature changes.

Wika chemical seals provide protection for Bourdon tube pressure

The new Wika Snap-Cap provides NEMA 4/IP67 washdown protection
for the Tronic line of industrial pressure transmitters. One simple step
opens the cover for access to the terminal block. Cable entry is through
a weathertight PG-11 compression fitting (shown above) or a 1/2” NPT
female conduit, instead of the DIN 43560 electrical connection plugs
standard on most WIKA transmitters.
Once installed, the head can be rotated 300°to accommodate specific
installation requirements, and can be temporarily removed for access

Differential Pressure Smart Transmitter

Honeywell differential pressure smart
transmitters measure with a piezo-resistive
sensor, which contains three sensors in a

The STG14T and STF14T work in difficult, high-temperature
applications that prohibit contact between the transmitter and the
process, or where contact could contribute to clogging or
contamination. Also, eliminating unreliable, troublesome remote seals
prevents a number of measurement, field, and maintenance difficulties.
Designed to measure pressure or fluid level in open or nonpressurized tanks, these models can replace troublesome capillaryfilled remote seal systems to provide better accuracy, greater stability,
and reduced installation and maintenance costs. A new, patented
sensor provides high-temperature performance and functionality.
Eliminating a remote-seal capillary system reduces errors caused by
changes in ambient temperature and fill fluid densities. Because remote
seal transmitters are notoriously troublesome, often introducing
problems into a process, replacing them with a more reliable alternative
is highly desirable. Replacing remote seals in sanitary applications
minimizes downtime — there is no need to remove transmitters during
clean-in-place and sterilize-in-place operations.
High-temperature capabilities make this product the ideal choice
when your process is a slurry or has suspended solids that can clog the
instrument line, might freeze or solidify due to ambient or process
temperature changes, is subject to contamination from carry-over
during batch processing, or has a high-process temperature.
The transmitter’s meter body and housing resist shock, vibration,
corrosion, and moisture. An optional terminal block with circuitry
protects the transmitter from transient surges induced by nearby
lightning strikes.

Smartline Configuration Toolkit. Connect the
SFC to transmitter signal lines, and it will provide
you with the capabilities of both transmitter
adjustments and diagnostics from remote
locations.
Transmitter Configuration
Any range within the transmitter’s limits can be preconfigured. The
STG14T and STF14T can be configured for linear/square root extraction,
damping time, LRV, URV, and mode (analog/digital). An ID tag of up to
eight characters and scratchpad information can be entered as specified.
Tagging
Up to 30 characters can be added on the stainless steel nameplate
mounted on the transmitter’s housing at no extra cost. A separate
nameplate on the meter body contains the serial number and bodyrelated data. A stainless steel, wired-on tag with additional data of up
to 4 lines of 28 characters is also available.
Gauge pressure smart transmitter with a 3A
sanitary remote seal. Models available with
Tri-Clover, Tri-Clamp sanitary seals, CherryBurrell I-Line, APC clamp, or bevel seat seals.
Sanitary Application
Two sanitary models are suitable for clean-in-place and sterilize-inplace installations and meet 3A requirements for non-contamination
of the process. The sanitary connection avoids the cavities and dead
volume that often contribute to contamination.
Analog and Smart Meter Options
An analog meter is available with a dual 0 to 10 square root and 0 to
100% linear scale.A smart meter is available with an LCD for displaying
both analog and digital output. Easily configure this meter to display
the output as 0 to 100% or scaled engineering units. Configuration is
possible using either the meter’s local interface, an SFC, or PC-based

liquid level transmitter measures head

level and transmits an output signal
proportional to the measured
variable, in either 4-20 mA
or digital format. The
output communications mode is made
through the Smart Field
Communicator (SFC). The
ST3000 features two-way
communication through the SFC,
which can be connected anywhere
you can access the transmitter signal lines and lets you adjust
the transmitter perform and diagnostics from remote locations.
This model measures pressure from 0-25" to 0-400" H2O.
Model STF932 measures pressure from 0-5 to 0-100 PSI. The
flange mount design always has the flange attached to the
high pressure side of the meter body, and all performance
specifications hold for upper range values of -400 to +400"
H2O. Thus, the flange mount can be applied for either gaseous
or liquid reference leg (open or closed tank) applications
without regard to flange position.
The STF’s piezo-resistive sensor contains three sensors in
one: a differential pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, and
a static pressure sensor. Microprocessor-based electronics
provide higher span-turndown ratio, improved temperature
and pressure compensation, and improved accuracy.
A 3A sanitary flange mount version is designed for mounting
on a sanitary tank spud with a 2" or 6" extension using a Ladish
4" Tri-Clamp. The ST3000 transmitter can replace any 4-20 mA
output pressure transmitter and operates over a standard twowire system.

Anderson Instrument Company introduces the latest innovation for
measuring liquid level in sanitary applications — the SX Driftless Level
Transmitter. This new line of sensors provides superior signal stability.
The field-tested performance of the SX transmitter means you can
eliminate expensive, repetitive re-calibrations and protect yourself
against costly overflow/run-dry situations that can occur with less
stable level transmitters. You can expect the 0.2% accuracy to remain
a year after installation!
A new field-calibration feature provides one-touch sensor zeroing
and simple range calibration without the need for special tools or
fixtures, pressure sources, or removal of the transmitter from the tank.
This translates to real cost savings during installation or when you
adjust for new application requirements.
The SX transmitter is available in all standard fitting and range
combinations you’ll need to fit any sanitary tank application. All
variations are CE compliant, meet instrinsically safe requirements, 3A
sanitary standards, and are backed by a two-year warranty.

Operation
All output options are standard. The SPDT
relay provides normally open and normally
closed contacts. You can use the failsafe relay

The preset material detection sensitivity
suits most applications. But, when you’re
detecting a sticky conductive material, you
can easily adjust the material level detection
switchpoint. For maximum flexibility, both a
range selection switch and potentiometer are
provided.
An adjustable output delay prevents
chatter when material is at the critical
detection level, or due to agitation or other
turbulence. The delay is adjusted by a single
potentiometer and applied to both the SPDT
relay and transistor outputs.
It can also be applied when entering or
leaving alarm, or both. The delay can be temporarily disabled to confirm appropriate
output operation, without readjusting the
delay setting.
LED Indicators Simplify Installation,
Commissioning, and
Troubleshooting
The Power On, Sensor Status, and Output
Status LED indicators provide a simple means
to verify performance during installation.
Power On confirms that power is supplied
to the unit. Sensor Status indicates that
material has been detected by the sensor.
Output Status shows the change in the output
state.

What Makes Mercap Different?
Mercap’s active shield technology provides low initial capacitance
for higher sensitivity in materials with low dielectrics and higher
resolution for greater measurement accuracy. Active shield eliminates
the drift associated with condensation and stray capacitance buildup
between the electronics and the measuring surface. Your production
and maintenance staff will benefit from the Mercap’s increased accuracy,
efficiency, and eliminated false alarms. Active shield can be produced
to any length, to meet any plant process requirement.
Mercap’s accuracy is stated as a percent of the measured value, not
as a percent of span or range. This allows for tighter level control,
especially critical when you’re measuring levels of high-cost products
or when your process requires close level tolerances. You’ll be able to
more closely monitor maintenance and safety situations, like tank
overflows or hazardous materials backups.
Even with a limited number of probes, the Mercap offers the broadest
range of temperature and pressure applications of any manufacturer
in the industry. Probes can withstand temperature extremes of -148° to
842°F and pressures from full vacuum to 7,665 PSI. The rugged probe
design ensures long life, increased up-time, and reduced maintenance.
It’s easy to calibrate and commission a Mercap probe. A Mercap can
be configured wet or dry with the probe in place, using switch
configuration in the electronics box, a Hart 275 handheld or a Hart
HPC01 pocket communicator.
A Single Universal Transmitter
The MST9500 two-wire loop-powered transmitter includes
galvanically isolated measurement circuits that prevent ground loops.
A fully potted transmitter reduces the effects of moisture in the
transmitter housing and provides strong resistance to vibration. The
certified transmitter housing permits use in installations requiring
explosion/flameproof or intrinsically safe approvals.
You can calibrate the 4-20 mA span with the press of a button. Using
a HART communicator, DCS, or laptop remote setup in non-hazardous
area provides enhanced safety for plant personnel. You can monitor
the loop current locally without interrupting loop wiring.
The MST9500 transmitter includes HART protocol for communications and local or remote setup. The HART system provides
information on measured variables, tag numbers, range and span
settings, and other diagnostic information.

Pointek ULS200: Ultrasonic Point Level Detection Transmitter
Siemens Milltronics’ new Pointek ULS200 delivers superior
performance while dramatically reducing your maintenance, downtime,
and equipment replacement costs.
This low-cost, ultrasonic switch is capable of noncontacting detection
of two distinct levels on liquids, slurries and solids. It works effectively
on bulk solids applications up to 9.8 ft. and on liquids and slurries up to
16.4 ft, without ever touching the process. Unlike contacting point
level devices, there is no material buildup or plugging on the sensor,
eliminating many problems associated with invasive mechanical devices
such as bubblers and floats.
Its rugged integrated design (which combines both the sensor and
the electronics in one durable package), and absence of moving parts
provide virtually maintenance-free operation. One unit can provide
both high and low level detection, which results in a reduced initial
investment as well as a low ongoing cost of ownership. The two
adjustable switch outputs are programmable for high-high, high-low,
and low-low level alarms.
The use of ultrasonic technology for point level detection means that
there is no need to specify the length of the wetted part on installation.
If your application specification changes, simply adjust the Pointek ULS
settings. No modification or replacement units are required.
The noncontacting Pointek ULS200 is virtually immune to the
problems inherent to most contacting level detection devices and is
unaffected by the presence of suspended solids in a liquid application.
The ultrasonic sensor continuously emits sonic pulses that are
reflected as echoes from the target surface. By measuring the time
delay between transmitted and reflected pulses, the levels at preset
points are detected.

on stainless steel tanks that contain

Award-Winning Integrated Design: This sleek, durable package
combines the sensor and electronics in a single molded body.
Electronics are potted in rugged PVC; the wetted part, encasing the
transducer and temperature sensor, is made of injection-molded
Tefzel, a fluoropolymer inert to most chemicals. The seamless sensor
housing resists buildup and cleans easily. It is ideal for corrosive
environments and in applications where cleaning and washdowns
are frequent.
Sonic Intelligence™: The Probe provides ultrasonic measurement
reliability, maintenance-free operation, and Sonic Intelligence.
Siemens Milltronics’ advanced software effectively discriminates
between real and false echoes to add to the inherent accuracy of the
unit. So, the Probe meets your needs in the kinds of demanding
applications where conventional contacting methods can fail.
Simplicity: Bolt, clamp, or screw the unit to the mounting surface
above the material being monitored. You won’t need to empty the
tank. And, unlike load cells, there are no special mechanical
considerations. Both threaded and flanged mounted versions are
available, with a universal mounting adapter for use on 3" ANSI
flange spacings. Because the compact one-piece unit houses both
sensor and electronics, you can connect wiring easily through one of
the two cable entry knockouts.
Two-Step Calibration: Open the Probe’s hinged lid to access the
control panel for calibration push-buttons and data display. With the
material at its corresponding 4 mA (low) level, push the 4 button
twice. With the material at its corresponding 20 mA (high) level,
press the 20 button twice. That’s it! No complex parameter setups,
no adjustments.
Low Maintenance Costs: Probe’s ultrasonics and advanced design
lower maintenance costs dramatically in comparison to competitive
technologies. There are no mechanical moving parts and, as a result,
the unit requires no periodic maintenance due to fouling or wear.
HART Communications: Siemens Milltronics offers the industry
standard HART communications protocol on all three-wire Probe
models. These units provide bi-directional digital data communications between HART host devices and one or more HART Probes.
With the HART protocol, you can get digital level and process temperature data, or set up and modify the Probe’s operating parameters
in the control room or remotely with a handheld communicator.

Get the Job Done
This low-cost, single-point ultrasonic level monitor uses the same
advanced Sonic Intelligence™ echo processing software found in our
more sophisticated systems. The MiniRanger Plus works with Milltronics’
new, hermetically sealed, chemically resistant Echomax® transducers
to monitor liquid levels to 33 feet and solids levels to 16.5 feet or more,
without ever touching the process.
It comes with two relays and a true isolated 4-20mA output — just
what you need to get the job done right without the tangles, plugging,
and downtime associated with contacting pressure transmitters,
bubblers, capacitance probes, and floats.
The MiniRanger Plus can control a two-pump lift station, or one
pump and a high alarm shutoff, or a high and a low alarm, or any other
combination of pumps and alarms.
A turn of the screw and the rack-mount model slides neatly into
place, with up to five other units. It fits an industry standard 3U high, 84
HP (19”) sub rack. The unit has a DIN 3U 14HP four-rail plug-in housing.
The panel-mount model fits a DIN 43700 standard cutout.
Both units have an easy-access RJ11 jack on the faceplate, protected
by a splashproof guard. The jack makes it easy to connect to your PC
or laptop computer for immediate access to the programming
parameters. Installation costs are kept to a minimum, and wiring is
simplified with integrated, self-selecting universal power supplies.
Extra-large, ergonomic pushbuttons allow you to program the
MiniRanger Plus quickly and easily for your application. A menu steps
you through the entire process. The backlit LCD on the rack- and panelmount models clearly displays numbers, custom icons, and a bargraph
for viewing at a distance.
Choose Your Transducer
Siemens Milltronics offers several Echomax transducers
used in harsh environments at temperatures from -40°
to 203°F. High temperature XCT8 and XCT12 models
are rated for temperatures as high as 293° F. Look
to the XKS-6 for use in sanitary applications.
Built-in temperature compensation is
standard with any Echomax transducer. No
additional cable is needed, so you save on
wiring and installation costs. An optional
submersible shield assures valid readings, even
when the transducer is immersed in flood conditions.

Laptop Programming: Perform a complete setup via an optical link
with Siemens Milltronics’ patented Dolphin Plus Windows-based

More easily than ever before, you can
monitor the level or volume of bulk
solids and liquids in heights to 48 feet,
in virtually any vessel. And, you can do
it with an accuracy of 0.25% or better, at
a resolution of 0.1% of range!
The MultiRanger Plus, Siemens
Milltronics’ most field-friendly, noncontact system, works in more ranges
than ever, especially in water and wastewater industries, with extended open
channel and multi-pump functions.
Versatility is the heart of this system.
In addition to standard tank or bin level
measurement, the MultiRanger Plus can
monitors open channel flow, determine
actual lift station throughput, control
as many as five pumps in wet wells, and
measure and control the differential between two levels.
Virtually anyone can install, set up, and operate
MultiRanger Plus transducer and electronics, without
specialized tools or training. Operation is as easy as
touching the keypad, and because the microprocessor-based functions
are completely segregated from one another, you won’t inadvertently
slip into any other function.
After initial installation, you won’t need to reopen the environmentally
sealed NEMA 4 enclosure, eliminating the potential for electric shock
hazard, and dust, or water contamination. For easy, safe operation, the
magnet-backed access programmer slips into the docking bay and
communicates with the electronics via a beam of infrared light.
MultiRanger Plus is extremely economical. With its wide-range use,
you can stock this single system for all of your short- to medium-range
applications. The maintenance-free MultiRanger Plus eliminates the
continual maintenance costs associated with mechanical systems and
old-style ultrasonics. This means you can take advantage of high performance microprocessor technology in a competitively priced system.
Traditionally, level measurement is determined through a straight
electronic conversion of the time taken for a transmitted ultrasonic
pulse and its reflected echo to travel between the transducer and the
monitored material.
Improving on basic technology, the MultiRanger Plus stores a
continually updated ultrasound profile of the monitored bin in its
computer memory and, by using an instantaneous, powerful software
technique for echo enhancement, assures an extraordinary degree of
reliability. The result is completely self-adjusting operation in the most
demanding environments.
The MultiRanger Plus patented software design eliminates the need
for operator involvement after the initial calibration. You simply key in
the vessel dimensions, display format, and alarm settings. Then, even
on applications characterized by dust, turbulence, steam, or agitators,
the system is completely self-adjusting. The MultiRanger Plus alters its
echo enhancement technique with every momentary variation in bin
conditions. Further, this patented program of echo analysis makes
traditional single-function techniques obsolete — no more TVG/AGC/
gating and tone decoding nuisances! All this improves your level
measuring efficiency, and lets you get on with other business.
Special Design Features
Automatic Volume Calculation: Volume conversion of the level
information is readily available for eight different vessel configurations. For readout on the four-character LCD display, select either a
percentage of volume or any standard engineering unit.
Agitator Avoidance: A unique echo processing feature ensures reliable
operation and stable readings in applications that use agitators or
other stirring devices.
Shortest Minimum Range: To reduce lost tank capacity, the
MultiRanger Plus provides an adjustable blanking distance as short
as 12".
Pump Control Functions: Everything you need for efficient pump
control, these functions are geared to applications with special
pump sequencing requirements. Even running time for each pump
is automatically totaled, for easy scheduling of regular maintenance.

Siemens Milltronics IQ Radar delivers high performance level
measurement at an affordable price for the chemical, petrochemical,
and pharmaceutical processing industries.
IQ Radar uses advanced microwave pulse technology to provide
reliable, continuous level measurement in liquids or slurries, even in
extreme process conditions. With its low frequency and high signal
transmission speed, it’s virtually unaffected by temperature or pressure
extremes, steam, dense foam, vapors, condensation, dust, aggressive
chemicals, encrustation, turbulence, and agitation.
It uses non-contacting technology, with a high-resistance PTFE
(Teflon®) rod antenna that’s chemically immune and resistant to material
build-up. Sonic Intelligence signal-processing technology for superior
reliability makes it low maintenance.
The instrument is compact, rugged, and easy to install — you just
bolt the unit on a standpipe and connect it to a power supply. It can be
fully operational by entering as few as three parameters. There’s no
need to fill or empty the vessel for calibration or commissioning.
IQ Radar provides reliable level measurement for a wide range of
applications. The choice of flanges and threaded connections makes

Chemical Process or Reactor Tanks: The IQ Radar 300 effectively
monitors chemicals in simple storage containers or in reactor vessels
where the environment and material change rapidly from one extreme
to another. The high signal-to-noise ratio delivers reliable performance
in these dynamic conditions. The four-wire IQ Radar 300 offers enhanced
reliability over two-wire systems that often lack the power to process
and respond quickly, especially on low dielectric materials.
Sonic Intelligence advanced echo processing and auto false-echo
suppression produce reliable readings even in tanks with agitators and
heating coils. The PTFE rod antenna withstands high temperatures and
resists chemical attack and build-up. A self-cleaning option is available
for slurry applications where severe build-up is expected.
Bitumen or Hot Mix Asphalt Tanks: The IQ Radar system is proven
tough, even in the harsh environment of a bitumen or hot mix asphalt
tank. The rugged construction and chemical-resistant PTFE rod antenna
withstand harsh conditions. It’s low maintenance, without the nuisance
of broken floats or stuck cables typical of mechanical systems.
Anaerobic Digester Tanks: The level in a digester is a critical measurement. If the top foam level gets too high, it can enter the gas collection
pipeline and lead to costly maintenance. With its unique sliding waveguide, IQ Radar lets you raise the device for installation or inspection
without releasing harmful gas. The waveguide carries the radar signal
from the instrument to the horn antenna, bypassing the spool and
valve components. The pipe has a clamping seal on top of the mounting
flange to seal the low pressure digester gases after installation.

Get all the features of the temperature-compensating KAL thermal
flow switch in a self-contained package. The KAL-K is a one-piece,
microprocessor-based flow switch and electronic flow trend indicator.
Designed for minimal pipe intrusion, low pressure loss is one of the
KAL-K’s hallmarks. The unit’s one-piece seamless construction provides
great strength and hermetic isolation between liquid and electronics.
The KAL sensor comes in a standard or 3A® compliant sanitary
version for use in industrial and food-grade applications. A NEMA 7
enclosure is also available, if you need protection in hazardous environments, beyond what the NEMA 4 nylon housing can provide.
Kobold uses advanced microcontroller technology to provide 100%
temperature compensation and switching point stability. With the
KAL-K, you won’t experience the problems caused by temperature
drift. In other words, No faulty switching at temperature adjustment!

KAL-A Flow
Transmitter
The KAL-A uses the calorimetric principle
to continuously monitor the flow of both
viscous and non-viscous media. Flow rate is
transmitted via a 4-20 mA output; an
optional PNP switch provides an alarm function.
The transmission capability of the KAL-A is made
possible by the high degree of temperature
stability provided by its intelligent microprocessor-based design.
These design enhancements improve the KAL-A’s
performance in two ways. First, the KAL-A’s sensing
stability is increased because contaminants cannot
thermally isolate the probe from the liquid. Second, system downtime
associated with probe cleaning will be decreased dramatically.

The Sanitary Durafet II pH electrode features state-of-the-art ISFET
(Ion Sensitive Field-Effect Transistor) sensor technology. This virtually
unbreakable electrode permits direct insertion into production equipment without fear of product contamination — unlike conventional,
fragile glass electrodes. The Sanitary Durafet II electrode is designed to
sanitary standards with compliant construction material.
Measurement can be online and continuous — no grab sampling is
necessary. Durafet II sensors provide a low impedance pH signal with
fast response and high accuracy that exhibits no sodium ion error or
ORP interference.

The DirectLine module continuously performs self-diagnostics on
both the electronics and sensor. These prioritized diagnostics help you
reduce the time and expense of troubleshooting during start-ups,
maintenance, and calibrations.
If a problem arises with either the module electronics or the sensor,
the software prioritizes the problem type and displays only the highest
priority error diagnostic. Once the problem is corrected, the error code
disappears from the display.
If the electrode’s temperature or process variable value goes out of
operation range, the output current is driven to approximately 21.8 mA
to inform the host device of a problem. Once the problem is corrected,
the output current returns to normal and the error code disappears.
Error codes are also used to indicate calibration failures.
For pH measurement, a special zero offset and percent theoretical
slope calibration diagnostic updates automatically at completion of
each calibration. You can monitor these diagnostics to determine
when the sensor is no longer capable of holding a good calibration.
The Honeywell DirectLine™ DL421/422 for Durafet® II pH and
Meredian® II pH/ORP electrodes is a new type of analytical measurement
system — there’s nothing like it on the market today! The DirectLine
sensor’s unique architecture combines the latest in microelectronics
technology with the proven performance of Honeywell pH/ORP sensors
to provide unequaled savings during installation, start-up, operation,
and maintenance.
Calibration Was Never So Quick and Easy
Flexibility Saves Installation Time and Costs
The DirectLine architecture includes an electronics module integral
to the pH/ORP electrode, eliminating the additional time and cost of
installing an analyzer or transmitter, a separate preamp, and special
cable! The electronics module provides a direct 4-20 mADC output
proportional to pH or ORP. The module quickly attaches to the sensor
and is easily locked in place for assured safety and reliability during
operation. The output cable is a standard shielded twisted pair allowing
additional wiring to be added at minimal cost.
Mount Your Modules Anywhere
The electronics module provides display,
configuration, and calibration capabilities
in a weatherproof and corrosion-resistant
enclosure. For electrode submersion or
special mounting applications, the module
is also available in a remote-mounting
configuration. You can order the sensors with a
universal mounting kit, so the modules can be
mounted on a wall, surface, or a pipe, or clipped to a DIN rail.
Configuration Flattens the Learning Curve Time
The DirectLine electronics consists of a four-digit LCD display with
three buttons for configuration and calibration functions. From the
online display of the DL421 pH module, you can toggle to view the pH
value in pH units and the temperature in either °F or °C. While online,
you can check on the health of your pH electrode with calibration
diagnostics. The configuration parameters ensure the accuracy needed
for your pH measurement, including standard buffer solution groups
for auto buffer recognition and solution temperature compensation.
Noise suppression, 0-100% output range, and 0-100% calibration
range are available for configuration with both the pH and the ORP
modules. And, you don’t need to worry if you forget how to configure
something — a playing card-sized configuration guide takes you step
by step for quick configuration.
Location, location, location! The DirectLine eliminates the extra time
required to travel back and forth between the analyzer/transmitter and
the sensor while you’re performing a calibration. If applicable, take
advantage of the auto buffer recognition calibration option to further

Condensed Specifications
When pH is critical, and value is a priority, the 7096
microprocessor-based analyzer offers basic, economical
pH/ORP measurement and control.
The analyzer ensures accurate and reliable pH/ORP measurements,
while the 1/4 DIN, NEMA 4 front-panel design makes the analyzer
perfect for OEM applications where panel space is limited.
The 7096 features an easy-to-read LCD display that makes monitoring
and alarming a snap. The analyzer's electrode inputs let you select the
best electrode for your application — glass pH, ORP, or the Durafet II®
ISFET pH electrode.
A quick-disconnect cable, available with the glass and Durafet II pH
electrodes, minimizes installation and electrode replacement time. A
user-programmable security lock prevents accidental changes to
settings or calibration.
An optional isolated 4-20 mA current output or pulse frequency
output can be used for transmission of data to a recorder or distributed
control system. The output signal can be scaled to represent any range
of pH or ORP.
Precise Control Saves Money
The 7096 analyzer features proportional control, providing more
rapid batch treatment than typical On/Off control. Proportional control
can improve efficiency of pretreatment in continuous neutralization
systems. Acid or base can be controlled by an individually adjusted
proportional band limit to best match the reagent feeder to the process.
Rugged, Reliable, and Fast
Durafet II pH electrodes are ideal for use with the 7096 analyzer. The
patented Durafet II non-glass pH electrode uses ion-sensitive field
effect transistor (ISFET) technology, which makes it more rugged and
nearly unbreakable, and ensures a longer life and faster response time
than traditional glass electrodes. The sanitary Durafet electrode design
is accepted by 3A for the food and dairy industries.
The advanced probe diagnostics of the 7096 analyzer prompt the
user to replace the probe when it fails — an extremely important
security feature for critical processes in which probe failure could upset
the process. The EEPROM backup system retains parameters during
power loss or power surges to protect valuable information and ensure
application integrity.
The analyzer's front panel features 12 keys for push-button entry and
audible feedback. Calibration is simplified through one- or two-point
adjustments with auto-buffer recognition.
Display: LCD displays pH (0-14) or mV (±1999), temperature (0° to 110°C),
alarm conditions, alarm setpoints, calibration, diagnostics, output
setpoints, security status.
Accuracy: pH: ±0.01, mV: ±0.1%, Temperature: ±0.2°C for 0° to 100°C;
Automatic Temperature Compensation: ±0.2°C for 0° to 110°C

The DR4300 is a multi-application, microprocessor-based recorder.
It features simple, modular construction, making it easy to operate,
maintain, modify, and service. Chart range and rotation speed are
easily set and reset in the field.
The DR4300 is set by adjusting a group of mechanical switches and
setting digital parameter through the configuration keypad. Both units
are self-testing. There is no custom configuration required on either
model, so you can stock up and save money.
The DR4300 recorder is available with an integral microprocessorbased single-loop PID controller for each pen. A variety of output types
— current, time proportional simplex or duplex control, with
electromechanical relays, solid-state relays, or open collector outputs
are available. Depending on the output type, you can configure the
control action as On/Off, PID-A, or PD with manual reset.

Created to satisfy the demand for increasingly precise and accurate
records, the DR4500 Truline represents a giant leap forward in circular
chart recorder technology. This unique recorder is ideally suited to
applications in food, pharmaceuticals, environmental testing, and
metalworking, where process variables must be documented on a
single chart and retained to meet industry requirements.
You expand the Truline’s functionality by selecting communications
and control capability. Microprocessor-based and field configurable,
the Truline is industrially hardened for use in plant or factory.
How It Records and Why It's Better
The Truline is the only circular chart recorder that draws its own chart
as it records. This innovation makes the Truline the most convenient
and accurate circular chart recorder on the market.
Up to Four Variables on One Timeline
All other circular chart recorders use multiple pens to track multiple
inputs, making it impossible to show more than one variable on a
timeline. Records made this way are often difficult to interpret and
leave you uncertain about when a given event occurred.
Since the Truline uses only one stylus to record data and print the
chart, up to four variables can be conveniently monitored on the same
timeline. So, Truline records are exceptionally easy to read, a saving
grace when you need to retrieve and review stored data.
Unrivaled Accuracy
Though undetectible to the eye, chart paper can shrink or expand as
much as a penny’s width in reaction to ambient heat and humidity. This
movement can jeopardize the accuracy of your records. In close
tolerances, that margin of error can be the difference between being in
or out of spec. Since the Truline prints its chart as it records, the pinpoint
sensor accuracy is precisely transcribed to the chart.
No More Preprinted Charts
A box of blank Truline charts is all you need to have a virtually infinite
selection of charts at your disposal. You create the chart design when
you input the operating parameters — so the chart meets your needs,
not the chart manufacturer’s. The Truline puts an end to preprinted
chart ordering, storage, and inventory.

With other circular chart recorders, you have to hand-write identifying
information on completed charts, which can sometimes be confusing.
The Truline performs this function itself, printing identifying information
right on the chart for a record that’s comprehensive and reliable.

HTST Pasteurization Enhancements
The Honeywell Truline can now handle pasteurization
processes based on flow as well as temperature. DR45AH High
Temperature Short Time (HTST) recorders monitor, control, and
divert the product based on temperature. DR45AP pasteurization
flow recorders monitor, control, and divert the product based on
flow rates. Both share common hardware, with the controlled
parameter (temperature or flow) software selectable.
Digital reference temperature measurement is now integrated
into the DR4500 Truline. This feature prints the actual Divert
Temperature and Forward Flow Temperature beside the Divert
Pen trace, eliminating user effort and error. Since this feature is
built into the DR4500 recorder, it also saves on panel space and
installation costs.
The DR45AP pasteurization flow recorder can also perform the
functions of a differential pressure switch, controlling the system
back pressure to ensure that proper pressures are maintained in
the pasteurizer.
No other single recorder/controller provides the functions
and features included in Honeywell’s DR45AH HTST and DR45AP
pasteurization recorders. With these new features, you’ll CREAM

• Extreme Accuracy — Typically less than ±1°F for usable
thermocouple ranges; meets MIL spec requirement for Type T and
Pt100Ω RTD; ±0.1% or better for voltage ranges.
• Universal Inputs — Standard low-level electrical input signals are
configurable for hassle-free changes in the field. Easily expand or
compress ranges within their limits to meet your specific need.
Select upscale or downscale break protection. A digital filter with
configurable time constants lets you apply input smoothing as
required. All nonlinear inputs are linearized by the microprocessor, so mixed input actuations can be displayed on the
same linear chart. Accepts all thermocouples; RTDs (Pt100 or
Pt500Ω), relative humidity (0-100%); and voltage/current. All
inputs are keyboard-selectable.
• Transmitter Friendly — An integral 24 VDC power supply and a
4-20 mA input configuration allow direct operation of up to two
transmitters without an additional external power supply.
• Easy Setup — English prompts and menus walk you through
configuration, to simplify setup and reduce risk of improper
programming. Configuration data (input type, chart speed, chart
range, alarm settings, tuning constants, etc.) are stored in nonvolatile
memory for safekeeping in the event of a power failure.

These field-selectable control algorithms include on/off, time-
proportioning, current-proportioning, and position-proportioning,

AutoTune feature will even select optimum tuning parameters.
• Flow Totalizer — An optional totalizer eliminates the need for
additional integration hardware, including a mechanical counter.
Pre-programmed software calculates flow totalization.
• Rugged Construction — All DR4500 recorders are housed in a
molded case. Glass window (plexiglass optional) gasketed door
protects internal components from harsh environments while
allowing easy acess to the chart and operator interface. Circuitry is
partitioned on printed circuit boards for easy service and to permit
field upgrade of functions.
• Self-Diagnostics — DR4500 recorders include self-diagnostic
systems that check critical operations and provide error messages
that alert you to detected faults. This test is automatically
performed on power-up or can be run on demand.

Honeywell recorders can provide circular chart
recording, high input point counts, custom screens,
control, and low-cost electronic recording.
Honeywell’s TrendView recorders further their
commitment to better data acquisition and
expanded communications functionality.
For easy setup and installation, Honeywell
TrendView recorders are configured using
standard recorder terminology. You’ll program
these video recorders like you would a Truline
circular chart or DPR stripchart recorder: in terms
of pens and chart speeds, not files, folders and
directories. And, you can set trend rates from mm
per hour to 1200 mm per hour to exactly match
your process requirements. TrendView video
recorders support event marking, so you can
program the recorder to trigger a timestamp and
process function report on the occurrence of an
event, like an alarm.
The Minitrend and Multitrend Plus offer dual
local storage options for truly redundant data
retention. Choose from standard floppy, 100/
250 MB Zip drive, or PC-card flash memory. The
recorder’s internal memory buffer lets it start collecting data within five seconds after power-up,
and provides the capacity to store temporary data
while you’re changing external data storage media.
Honeywell TrendView recorders feature a unique
data compression algorithm, called fuzzy logging,
that compresses process and configuration data,
based on the process variation and the data storage
capacity you choose. Typical compression is 10:1.
TrendView recorders offer the widest choice of
communications options available in current
recorder technology. You can transfer data and
communicate with recorders over a network using
Modbus, Profibus, Devicenet, Honeywell proprietary RS485 Trendbus, or Ethernet TCP/IP
communications protocols.
You don’t have to worry about compromises in
data security or integrity with TrendView recorders.
Multi-level, multi-user passwords provide security
and tracking of all process and configuration
changes to allow for quick validation of the
instrument and the process.

TrendServer is a fully network-aware package for data viewing,
archiving, and communications over plantwide RS485 or TCP/IP

the data in the TrendServer is stored in the same file, so comparing data
from multiple pens on different recorders is a snap! There’s no need to
