FUNCTIONS AND FEATURES
HP-G Series designed for heavy duty rugged environments,
applications suited for Chemical plants , Refinery , Power substation ,
airports and railways stations., Oil & Gas offshore and Onshore,
petrolchemical, Hospitals and healthcare, Security.
The units provide a full insulation of the critical load from the mains in
order to ensure a full power . Availability and reliability over an heavy
polluted mains line supply , protecting the load from mains dip, sags
and heavy harmonic disturbance .
HP-G Series meets the L.U. specification NR_PS_ELP_0007_ISS_3.
Full customized system solution in order to meet every Customer’s
request over the power protection field .
Units are fully designed and manufactured in Italy since Y 2001 and
the production process is fully compliant with ISO9001-2008.
HOW IT WORKS
NORMAL OPERATION
The rectifier with input
p isolation transformer converts input
p AC mains into stabilized and filtered DC suitable to feed the inverter and recharge
g the
battery bank . The inverter is supplied from the rectifier and will reproduce a pure sinusoidal waveform that through the output isolation transformer
and the static switch is feed into the load.
LOSS OF INPUT POWER
In the event of mains failure, the inverter will drain energy from the DC battery until the low DC threshold is reached or the mains input is restored.
When the mains input is restored, the rectifier will provide the DC supply for the inverter and simultaneously recharging the battery. The critical load
connected to the inverter and the critical DC load connected to the rectifier will not be affected during mains failure and restoring.
BYPASS OPERATION
The UPS is provided with a current sensing circuit which can detect overloads and sustain according with the specification overloads and output short
circuits. The UPS current protection circuit causes the static switch to transfer the critical load to the bypass line without interruption . It is also
possible to fit an isolation transformer and AVR in order to make bypass line clean and stable across mains fluctuations and disturbances.
WHY USE IT
LOAD SUPPLY IS SAFE AGAINST MAINS FAILURE
HP-G Series provides a full load insulation by means of galvanic transformer , so where the load is likely to be affected by a very large variation on
power supply, a transformer based UPS provides a safer and more reliable solution than transformer-less technology UPS . Also the output
transformer provides a true protection under heavy inverter failure , stopping unwanted DC current flow to the critical load . For several critical
applications ( i.e. oil & gas or health care ), redundancy on the rectifier side and on the inverter side is highly recommended in order to maximize
MTBF and reduce the MTTR in case of failure.
LOAD SECURITY AGAINST BATTERY AND RECTIFIER FAILURE
Ups systems are developed to provide a proper care regarding backup battery blocks and ensure long life terms and proper recharging current and
voltage level according to the environmental condition terms . This result in less maintenance on the unit and more availability of the system.
MODULAR ARCHITECTURE
UPS units systems can be manufactured with modular architecture, in order to fulfill the increase power demand on site , increasing reliability and
availability of the output power supply used for critical loads .
SOLUTION FOR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
Transformer-based devices are ideal for applications that experience heavily polluted mains supplies , particularly industrial, rural and complex
infrastructure locations, such as hospitals, petroleum plants and airports. In these circumstances, any UPS would be expected to provide long-term
protection from repetitive transients and electrical noise – dip-sags without degradation of the energy supplied to the load .
BATTERY EFFICIENCY
Unlike transformer-less systems, HP-T UPS systems use fewer number of battery sets to feed the load . HP-G Industrial UPS Systems come with
110VDC, 144 VDC, 220 VDC, 264 VDC or 360 VDC bus bar ratings with up to 500 Amp charging capacity.

The units provide a full insulation of the critical load from the mains in
order to ensure a full power availability and reliability over an heavy
polluted mains line supply , protecting the load from mains dip, sags and

independent sections defined in SERVICE BRANCH (RS) and
BATTERY CHARGER BRANCH (RCB). COMMUNICATION
MODBUS PROTOCOL : RS232

There are two possible configurations:
→ BASE : In case of failure of the RS branch, the branch
RCB can power the load to maintain voltage and current
limit set at request. In case of failure of the branch RCB
the branch RS can not recharge batteries
→ ADVACED : A failure in one of two branches, the
remaining completely replace the power failure is how the
utilities and as battery charging. With this type of system is
in effect creates a configuration of "REDUNDANCY" in
order to increase system reliability and ensuring a high
degree of safety to the load.

FUNCTIONS AND FEATURES
IGBT based power factor correction technology provides Input Power
Factor close to 1 (≥0.99) and keeps Input Current Total Harmonic
Distortion (THDi) less than 3%, that helps to avoid the disturbance.
(THDi) less than 3% avoids the disturbance to connected loads.
All of the control functions for HP-C Series UPS including power-on,
start-up control, input stage power factor control, battery charging and
boosting control, output stage ac voltage regulation and shut-down
control, can be realized by using a single DSP control board.
High Input Power Factor, 0,99 Input power factor ensures clean and
sinusoidal input current. The high input power leads to reduced
electricity pay-out, minimizes cable, switchboard, fuse and generator
requirements, thus reducing investment cost.
With its high efficiency up to 93% HP-C Series UPS consumes less
energy to supply the loads. Thanks to this high efficiency rate, the
percentage of energy that is produced as heat is reduced to a
miminum. As a result of decreased heat emission users can reduce
their electricity usage and air condition requirements.
HP-C Series includes standard static and manual bypass. Static
bypass provides safe failure to mains if the UPS is overloaded or
develops a fault condition. Where EMI filters are used to help to
neutralize spikes
p
and electrical noise, the load may
y be routed through

bypass to provide further protection. Manual bypass function is
intended only for maintenance work, this bypass supply is
incorporated into the HP-C UPS design. Manual bypass is used to
power down the UPS without interrupting the power to the load. With
this feature it is comp-letely safe for the technical personnel to work
HP-C is compatible with wide range of application. Flexibility achieved
through many choices, including type of battery, single or multi-unit
configuration, accessories and options.

assist the recharge voltage compensation);
* Additional battery chargers to optimize charge time;
* Optional separated bypass;
* Isolation transformers to vary neutral connectivity in the event of
separate power sources or for galvanic isolation between input
and output;
* Battery cabinets of different sizes and capacities, for providing
extended runtimes.
HP-C Series is perfectly compatible with diverse sources, especially
with generators. When generator power is used, thanks to its robust
IGBT rectifier, it ensures clean, uninterrupted power to protected
equipment.With high input power factor performance of HP-C Ups
series it is enough to choose generator with power only %20 higher
rated than the UPS. HP-C Series has the ability to adjust power walkin from 5 to 15 seconds, along with reduced input current distortion.
HP-C Series UPS has Large and user-friendly 320x240 LCD display
that provides operating information in four different languages.
Thanks to this advanced LCD display all parameters of working
device can be monitored and controlled.UPS is capable of recording
up to 500 events.
EPO function is designed to switch off the UPS in emergency
conditions ( fire, flood, etc.). The system will turn off the rectifier,
inverter and will stop powering the load immediately (including the
inverter and bypass) also the battery stops charging or discharging.
When the main and bypass sources fail, the UPS draws power from
the battery system to supply the load until the batteries are depleted.
When UPS will reach its end of discharge, it will shut down.
The UPS will automatically restart and enable output power:
* After utility power is restored;
* After the “Auto Start Delay Time” is expired (the default delay is
5 minutes) .

The HP-C UPS can be used with regenerative loads, such as
synchronous motors. The regenerative loads pump the energy back
to mains, traditional Ups systems burn this feedback energy and this
causes lower efficiency. HP-C Series Ups with IGBT rectifier are able
to absorb intermittent load generated power. Additionally, this reverse
power tolerance permits execution of important system operations like
closed transition transfers of the UPS load directly to an engine
generator source.
HP-C Series guarantees enhanced battery life and maximizes battery
performance, life span and reliability through intelligent precision
charging. Temperature Compensated Battery Charging monitors
performing measurement of external and internal battery temperature
and adjusting the charge current rate accordingly. Advanced battery
management provides real-time information about battery capacity
and back up time, this information can be seen on LCD panel. The
Ups tests the batteries at adjustable periods without switching off the
system, the test periods can be set by users.
Hydrus Series features easy and simple scalability and redundancy.
It is ready to grow with your business demands. Different power rated
units and any number of UPS can be connected in parallel.
Power Increase:
The UPS's can be connected in parallel to increase total capacity of
the system. If one of the devices goes out of order, the critical loads
are transferred to by-pass.

TYPICAL EXAMPLE OF STAND ALONE SYSTEM WTH RESCUE NETWORK
FUNCTIONS AND FEATURES
The range of products on solar stand-alone consists of three different products:
- The SolarBAT, smart charger, equipped with MPPT to optimize the energy supplied by the panels and charge the
batteries in faster way;
- The SolarINV, power inverter at high yield with a perfect sinusoidal wave, complete of isolation transformer on
output and full management of the hysteresis on the return DC;
- The SolarCOM, bypass to prioritize the power and to switch the load on the network in case of possible inverter
shutdown due to battery discharge occured.
All three products have different range of powers, in order to better meet the needs of the customer, and, although the working voltage
choice by SINPEC is 110 volts, in order to optimize the efficiency of the system, are also available to 48 VDC.
Also, having three separate devices for a proper assembly, provides better flexibility to the customer needs.
The custom products, then, are certainly the strong suit of SINPEC POWER SYSTEM, so do not hesitate to ask for customized solutions.
