CÉLIANE TECHNICAL GUIDE PLC/IR transmitter/receiver dimmer switch 672 12 Description These MY HOME Legrand power line communication dimmer switches control the ON/ OFF, dimmer, and preset level functions of the lighting circuits connected to their clamps: - manually, using the front controls, - using a power line communication or radio transmitter, through a PLC/RF interface. The dimmer is a receiver. - using a mobile infrared transmitter. The dimmer is an IR receiver. Dimmer switches can be used for remote control of MY HOME Legrand receiver lighting devices. The dimmers are transmitter. A receiver can be controlled by up to 32 transmitter controls maximum. All MY HOME Legrand products fitted with an infrared cell may transmit through the network a control order of a remote infrared transmitter. The status indicator: Shows the light level of the load connected to the dimmer. Local operation The dimmer switch controls the light points connected to its clamps: - switching on, pressing the ON key, - switching off, pressing the OFF key, - switching on at 66% brightness level (factory setting), pressing key 1 - switching on at 33% brightness level (factory setting), pressing key 2 - increasing dimmer function, pressing and holding down the ON or the 1 key, - decreasing dimmer function, pressing and holding down the OFF or the 2 key. Note: Switching on occurs within 1 second, switching off within 2 seconds Customising the brightness level of key 1 Action L Dimmer switch: Short pressure of the ON key 1 2 3 4 6 5 4 Legend 1. It can be operated to perform: 1.ON/OFF functions, by simple or double switches, automatic switches, power line communication controlled sockets. 2. ON/OFF functions, or preset level, by power line communication, infrared, or radio scenario switches, using the PLC/RF interface, including an automatic radio switch. 3. ON/OFF and dimmer functions using: - dimmer switches, remote dimmer switches, power line communication dimmer controlled sockets. - power line communication or radio lighting scenario switches* using the PLC/RF interface * the power line communication lighting scenario switch can also control it at preset level, using keys 1 and 2. 4. ON/OFF dimmer functions using the IR 882 00 remote control, by directly pointing the device, as well as using the RF/IR remote control 882 15 Example: Create a dimmer two-way switch using a dimmer switch (0672 12) and a lighting scenario switch (672 08) N L L N Transmitter 672 08 Receiver 672 12 L It is not necessary to program the OFF pushbutton of the lighting scenario switch, as this is learnt automatically. On the lighting scenario switch: - press the ON key, switch on, - press and hold down the ON key, gradual increase of the brightness level, - press the OFF key, switch off, - press and hold down the OFF key, gradual decrease of the brightness level. Note: During the programming procedure, pressing keys 1 and 2 of the dimmer (after pressing Learn), will remove the link between these two keys and the dimmer function (deleting the preset levels). LG00179-a-UK Operation as transmitter The dimmer switch has three control directions: - one ON/OFF and increasing/decreasing dimmer direction, - one scenario 1 and increasing dimmer direction, - one scenario 2 and decreasing dimmer direction. For example, it can control remote switches and other remote dimmer switches. 2 Example 1: Controlling a dimmer switch (672 12) using the ON key of another dimmer switch (672 12) N L Transmitter 672 12 Receiver 672 12 L It is not necessary to program the OFF pushbutton of the dimmer switch (transmitter), as this is learnt automatically. On the dimmer switch (transmitter): - press the ON key, switch on, - press and hold down the ON key, gradual increase of the brightness level, - press the OFF key, switch off, - press and hold down the OFF key, gradual decrease of the brightness level, decrease of the loads connected to the two dimmers. Example 2: Controlling a simple switch (672 01) and a dimmer switch (672 10) using key 1 of a dimmer switch (672 12). N L Receiver 672 12 Receiver 672 12 Receiver 672 10 Key 2 of the dimmer switch (transmitter) does not switch off (short pressure) or decrease the load (extended pressure) of the actuators programmed on key 1 (they are not learnt automatically). On the dimmer switch (transmitter): - pressure of key 1 switches on lamp L1 at 100%, and lamp L2 at the programmed brightness level. - press and hold down key 2, gradual increase of the brightness level of lamp L2. The brightness level of lamp L1 cannot be adjusted. To change the brightness level, it is recommended that the same group of devices are programmed on keys 1 and 2. Note: Using a dimmer set as OFF within the lighting scene, it is possible to change the light level by pressing and holding down 1. Besides, a transformer must be loaded at 60% of its power.
