Motorola SURFboard SVG1501U is a Wireless Voice Gateway that provides you with high-speed internet access and reliable phone service. It has a built-in 802.11n wireless router which lets you connect multiple devices to the internet, such as your computer, smartphone, tablet, and gaming console. The SVG1501U also has four Ethernet ports that you can use to connect wired devices like your desktop computer, TV, or printer. With its advanced features, the Motorola SURFboard SVG1501U will give you a fast and reliable internet experience.

Do not connect both the Ethernet and USB cable to your PC. Use one or the other depending on your desired PC configuration (SVG1501U only). USB option is available with the Motorola SURFboard SVG1501U only.

Troubleshooting
This information is to help you quickly solve a problem. Before calling your service provider, try unplugging and plugging in the power cord in the AC wall outlet to restart the gateway.
Problem Solution
Green POWER light is OFF Check that the SVG1501 Series Wireless Gateway is plugged into the AC adapter and wall outlet.
Cannot receive or send data If you have cable TV, check that your TV is working and the picture is clear.
If you cannot receive your regular TV channels, your data service will not function.
Check the coaxial cable connection to the SVG1501 Series Wireless Gateway and wall outlet.
Hand-tighten if necessary.
Check that the Ethernet or USB cable is properly connected to the SVG1501 Series Wireless Gateway and your computer (USB option is available with the Motorola SURFboard SVG1501U only).
Check the IP address by following the steps in “Verifying the IP Address” in the User Guide. On computers using UNIX ® or Linux ® , you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed before opening the User Guide. Call your cable provider if you need an IP address.
Check the lights on the front panel. Note the first light from top to bottom that is off. This light indicates where the error occurred as described in Front-Panel Lights and Error Conditions in the User Guide.
