Cartridge Series
In this series, a large variety of optical components are modularized as
cassettes which enable easy application for various optical
experiments and optical measurement.
The polarization state, attenuation volume, optical characteristics of
wavelength can be adjusted easily without cumbersome optical axis
adjustment.
This series is recommended to be used as a tool for various research
and development.

Rack Type Polarization
Controller Unit
Polarization controllers manually produce various polarization states by
rotating two axes of λ/2 and λ/4 plates. This product combines them as units
and can hold up to 8 units in a 3U rack.
This product is recommended to be used when testing each channel.

Motorized Polarization Controller
This orthodox polarization controller consists of a combination of polarization control
elements, such as polarizers, λ/4 wave plates and λ/2 wave plates.
Each polarization element may be freely chosen, such as a single plate, achromatism for
broadband wavelength, high-power compatibility, specification wavelength, phase
difference specification, polarizer, etc. Various polarization conditions can be produced
through 0.1-degree angle adjustments with a highly accurate rotation mechanism.
This product is recommended for a wide range of applications, such as optical

Auto-Tracking Linear Polarization
Controller
Optical fiber is known for providing stable optical transmission, but it is also well known that optical
fiber can be affected by slight structural shifts and influenced by disturbances, so that the total input and
output of a comprehensive combination of optical fibers exhibit wave plate functionality.
The characteristics may vary due to disturbances of temperature changes and vibration in a relatively
modest manner.
In addition, although polarization-maintaining fibers which provide stable transmission of polarized
waves are also available, they are not cost effective when used to consistently control polarization with
various function devices.
This product can be used for automatic linear polarization tracking in the above cases. This product
realizes stable linear polarization output, even though polarization input is unstable.
This product is recommended for a wide range of applications, such as optical communications, optical
measurement, biotechnology, and other research institutions, etc.

PDL Generator
In cases where it is necessary to consider the influence of polarization dependency in highspeed optical communication (measurement of 100 G proof stress) and various experiments,
the consideration process has been time-consuming until now because various polarized
optical devices have to be set up to output arbitrary polarization states.

Wavelength can be tuned by changing the angle of an oxide dielectric bandpass
filter. This module rotates oxide dielectric bandpass filters with a micrometer to

Polarization Extinction Ratio Meter
for PMF Patch Cords
This product measures “polarization extinction ratio” and “misalignment angle of
polarization maintaining axis orientation and its connector key orientation” of PMF
patch cords with connectors by inserting the cords into the optical adapter parts.
This design enables very reproducible and highly precise monitoring and evaluations.
Polarization of thin LD modules can be evaluated and optical devices can be
assembled (polarization axis adjustment) using excitation units (option).

Compact LD Driver
This product can control the current drive and temperature of 14-pin butterfly
package LD modules with only the main unit. The substrate is equipped with an LCD
monitor, an LD ON/OFF button and a rotary encoder for each parameter setting. A
USB port, which can externally control PC, is also included on the substrate.
In addition, this product is compatible with most manufacturers' LD modules by
exchanging the attached slave boards.
