SCENE — Greater Operating Ease
Four SCENE buttons make operating the receiver
easier than ever. Pressing a SCENE button
automatically turns the power on and launches a
number of operations that initiate play of the source
controlled by that button. Many SCENE settings are
available, such as Dock Listening, DVD Viewing,
Radio Listening and Game Playing. Browsing and
selecting the settings is quickly accomplished by
rotating the Input knob and watching the on-screen
display. When a Yamaha DVD or CD player with
SCENE compatibility is connected to the Remote
Out jack, it can be operated via the receiver’s
SCENE functions.
High Sound Quality
Direct Mode
You can enjoy pure HiFi sound from 2-channel
PCM and analogue sources by the Direct mode
which allows signals to bypass the decorders and
DSP processors.
Bi-Amping Assignability
Bi-amping is an advanced feature that lets you
enjoy superior sound quality. It assigns the
surround back channels to provide separate low
frequency and mid/high frequency allocation to
the front channels, thus improving sound clarity
in all frequency ranges.
Audio-Grade Parts and Devices
The RX-V563 offers the latest and best
technologies, parts and circuit designs to maximise
sound quality. These
include custommade block
capacitors (1), high

grade Burr-Brown
DACs and ADC (2) and other high quality audiograde parts.
USB Port on Front Panel
A USB port is provided on the front
panel for connecting USB memory
devices and portable audio
players. Compatible with MP3,
WMA and WAV (PCM only)
formats, it also enables the on-screen
display of USB file list, artist name,
album and song.
High Picture Quality
YPAO for Automatic Speaker Setup
The RX-V563 uses Yamaha’s YPAO system that
quickly and automatically analyses the acoustics of
the room and adjusts various speaker parameters
to provide the optimum sound at the listening
position. It’s like having a professional audio
engineer set up and tweak your system.
Zone 2 Audio Enjoyment
The RX-V563 provides Zone 2 audio output. This
means you can set the receiver to reproduce
separate sources in the main zone and second
zone (Zone 2) by using a second
amplifier/speaker system. IR terminals and
Trigger Out add to operating convenience.
1080p-Compatible HDMI (2 In/1 Out)
This receiver features dual HDMI inputs and one
output that support 1080p resolution so you can
connect two HDMI sources, such as a DVD player
and a high definition set-top box, and enjoy the
highest possible quality with a 1080p display. Also,
have a capability of repeating 1080p/24Hz signal
to enjoy highest quality picuture by Blu-ray disc.
Component Video Upconversion with TBC
The RX-V563 is equipped with high-definition video
upconversion circuitry incorporating highperformance video encoder/decoders from Analog
Devices. A Time Base Corrector (TBC) transforms
degraded analogue video signals into a stable
format for distortion-free viewing.

format such as MP3, frequency response suffers in
