Remember: You need either a digital TV converter box or a

TV with a digital tuner to receive digital channels.

Important: Some TVs have separate antenna inputs for analog and digital signals. If you’re connecting directly to this kind of TV, make sure you use the digital antenna input.

Plug in the amplifier’s power cord to a power outlet or surge protector.

Scan for channels on your digital converter box or digital-ready TV—you should be getting some new ones!

Tips for Digital Reception

• Is the antenna sitting on a metal surface (like a metal stand)?

Move it to a non-metal surface (metal interferes with reception). Then, re-scan for channels (see step 4).

• Try the antenna in a different position.

Most of the time, the antenna works best lying down. But depending on your reception environment, it might work best for you standing or hanging on the wall. When you’ve found the best position, re-scan for channels (see step 4).

• Try using the antenna without the amplifier.

Connect the antenna directly to your digital converter box or digital-ready TV. Then re-scan for channels (see step 4). If your signal is good enough to get the channels you want without the amplifier, the amplifier might actually be getting in the way.

• Move the antenna close to a window.

Some construction materials (such as aluminum siding) make it more difficult to get good reception. Re-scan for channels when you’re finished (see step 4).

• Position the antenna as high as possible.

Most of the time, this increases your chances of reception.

• Do you live over 25 miles from the TV’s broadcast tower? Do

you live in an area with a lot of hills?

Your reception environment might require an RCA Outdoor

Antenna for best reception. Long distances and hilly terrain make TV reception more difficult.

IMPORTANT: Any time you change the antenna’s position, make sure you re-scan for channels on your TV or digital TV converter box. The channels you receive may have changed.

Consejos para obtener una recepción digital

• ¿Se encuentra la antena colocada sobre una superficie de metal (tal

como un soporte de metal)?

Colóquela sobre una superficie no metálica (el metal interfiere con la recepción). Luego, vuelva a buscar canales (consulte el paso 4).

• Intente colocar la antena en una posición diferente.

La mayoría de las veces, la antena funciona mejor cuando se encuentra recostada. No obstante, dependiendo del entorno de recepción, podría funcionar mejor parada o colgada en la pared.

• Intente utilizar la antena sin el amplificador.

• Coloque la antena cerca de una ventana.

Algunos materiales de construcción (tal como los desviaderos de aluminio) impiden obtener una buena recepción. Vuelva a buscar canales cuando finalice (consulte el paso 4).

• Coloque la antena lo más alto posible.
