MERIDIAN TELEPHONE FEATURES (Large Phone)
LINE APPEARANCES
The telephone numbers that appear on your set will be the Line Appearances of
your set. Some of these lines will roll over from one to another, allowing you the
flexibility to answer more than one telephone call. The bottom right hand button
is your Prime Line or Main Number.
DIAL OUT CODE _____9_____
HANDSFREE / MUTE
To call –
• Leave your handset in cradle and press Handsfree key.
• Dial your telephone number and have a Handsfree conversation.
To answer –
• Press Handsfree when your telephone rings to answer and have a handsfree
conversation.
• Pick up the handset to turn off the Handsfree.
To activate Mute and turn off your microphone so your caller cannot hear you –
• Press Handsfree a second time. The LCD will flash, indicating the
microphone is muted.
• Press Handsfree again to deactivate Mute.
RLS
Press RLS to hang up. This is a silent hang up.
HOLD
Press Hold to put a call on hold.
VOLUME
Speaker, Ring, and Handset volume are controlled by the bar under your key
pad.
LAST NUMBER REDIAL
• Lift your handset and hear dial tone.
• Press your line key
OR
With the handset in the cradle – press the line key twice.
TRANSFER
To transfer a telephone caller to another extension –
• Press Transfer (hear second dial tone).
• Dial the extension you wish to transfer to.
• Wait for the called party to answer and announce the call.
• Press Transfer.
• Press RLS for silent hang up.
CONFERENCE
To add more parties to your call –
• Press Conference
• Dial the number you wish to add.
• When the called party answers – press Conference to add them to the
conference call.
• Repeat Steps 1 through 3 to add additional parties to your call.
You may have a total of six people on a conference call.
To cancel a Transfer or Conference, simply press the Line Key beside the
flashing LCD.
CALL PICK-UP
Allows you to pick up a ringing telephone in your pick-up group
• Lift handset and hear dial tone.
• Press Pick-up key.
CALL FORWARD
You can forward your phone to another phone or voice mail when you are out of
the office
• Leave handset in cradle.
• Press the Call Forward key.
• Input the number your wish to forward to.
• Press the Call Forward key again
To cancel forwarding – press the Call Forward key.
MESSAGE WAITING
A visual indication of new voice mail messages
• Lift handset
• Press Message Key to call the Mail System
AUTO DIAL
One button that quick dials one number
To Program –
• With phone on hook – press Autodial Key
• Dial in the number you want to program
• Press Autodial Key again
To Use –
• Get a dial tone
• Press Autodial
Label as needed
PARK
Allows moving call from one phone to another
• Press Conference
• Dial 171
• Press conference
To retrieve Parked call –
• Lift handset and hear dial tone
• Dial 172 plus the number the call is parked against

PROGRAM
Note: After any programming procedure, press Program to exit and save the new setting.
When you first press Program to enter programming
mode, you will see this screen. This is the first
programming selection.
Volume Adjustment
(Press Program, and dial 00)
Next choose:
Ringer
•
Buzzer
•
Speaker
•
Handset
•
Handsfree
•
You can use your volume control key to scroll
forwards or backwards through the selections
available. To make a selection, dial the number
shown on the screen. Then make changes, and
press Program a second time to save them.
Use the volume control key to increase or decrease
the volume for the selection you have chosen. Press
Program to save, and exit.
Predial Recall
(Press Program, and dial 01)
The most recently predialed number appears. Press
Program to exit. You can then edit the number
using the volume key, or dials it by pressing a free
extension key.
Contrast Adjustment
(Press Program, and dial 02)
Use the volume control key to increase or decrease
contract. Press Program to save, and exit.
Call Timer Enable
(Press Program, and dial 03)
Press either side of the volume control key to
change the Call Timer setting. Press Program to
save, and exit.
Idle Screen Format
(Press Program, and dial 04)
Tap the volume control to scroll through the eight
possible selections of idle screens. When you find
the selection you want, press Program to save, and
exit.
Language Selection
(Press Program, and dial 05)
Tap the volume control key to scroll through the
selections available. Enter the number for the
language you want, press Program to save, and exit.
Key Click
(Press Program, and dial 09)
Press either side of the volume control key to turn
the Key Click on or off. Press Program to save, and
exit
