Installation Note REVISION 1 DATE 1-12-2014 Model : ATE-DR100 Electronic ON/OFF Auto Detect Intelligent dimmer module Features : • Minimum load down to 5W of capacitive or resistive load, such as LEDi, CFLi & MV halogen. • Soft start up and down the lamp of feature, which can be increased the lamp longer life, particular for low voltage lamp and MV halogen. • User setting for the minimum dim bright. • Build-in short circuit protect of dimmer in abnormal status, the protection will activate with a continues of long beep sound up to 10 second. When reset and occur again, it maybe over loading, it is necessary to inspect and check the lamp circuit of the wire connection. Loading : The intelligent dimmer can control up to 100W as below : • Incandescent lamps • Mains halogen lamps • Mains directly dimmable LED lamps • Mains directly dimmable CFL lamps • Dimmable LV electronic transformers Min Max Operation of knob : • Push ON / Push OFF the lamp. • Turn right to increase brightness until beep sound indication of max. level. • Turn left to decrease brightness until beep sound indication of min. level. Operation of Multi-way retractive switch or push on/off switch : • Push ON / Push OFF the lamp. • Push and hold the switch for cycle dimming. Push On/Off Switch Retractive Switch How to Pre-set the Minimum dim setting : • The lamp in OFF state. • Push and hold the knob for 3 second, until the lamp start auto dim up to max. level, and dim down to min. level, then release the knob, which is enter to min. dim setting. • Adjust the knob to your desire bright of min. dim bright, and then push the knob once to exit the min. dim setting. • When program exit, the lamp will start auto dim up to max. level and dim down to the min. bright level, which means the min. dim setting is finished. Remark : When program do not detect the last progress of push the knob once to exit program, the dimmer will auto execute the setting after 10 second, and the lamp will auto dim up and down for once, and exit the program automatically. How to define the dimming mode for the lamp during the first initial Power ON : • If the lamp just goes ON to max. brightness then return to OFF with one long beep sound, that is TE (Trailing Edge dimming mode). • If the lamp goes ON to max. brightness then return to OFF, and then going ON again to max. brightness then return to OFF again with 3 short beep sound, that is LE (Leading Edge dimming mode). Recommendations : • If the dimmer drive more than one piece of LED lamps, we recommend to use one piece of LED lamp for the initial start-up of “Auto detect function”. It would be more accuracy to select exact dimming mode by the dimmer. • The max. power of dimmer on TE mode can not be exceeded 100W. • When dimmer is on LE mode (Leading Edge dimming mode). It is required to de-rated approx. 25-30% for the max. power, due to most of the Leading Edge LED lamp having a induce high rush current may cause over heat for the dimmer. Revision update function: • All set including TE/LE mode and min. dim setting will be saved automatically, whatever LINE power is cut-off. • Added toggle mode to select LE or TE mode for dimmer. * Action, push ON the lamp, and turn to min. dim bright until a beep sound. Then push and hold the knob over 3 second, the lamp will OFF and auto ON again. After that, the mode have been changed. (LE mode have 3 short beep sound, and TE mode have 1 long beep sound) • Manual reset for factory default. * Method A, Power LINE is disconnected, lamp in OFF state, push and hold the knob and turn ON Power LINE. Method B, Power LINE is connected, lamp in OFF state, push and hold the knob over 10 second. Both reset activation have 2 beeps sound as confirmation. When push ON again, the dimmer will start detection automatically. Typical wiring diagrams : ATE-DR100 230-240V~ 50Hz 5-100W max.
