* Mini-sized tiepin type microphone which can be
attached to your tie, around your collar or chest
pocket (ECM-T110), and mini-sized lavalier
microphone which can be attached and detached of
the hoider clip (ECM-T140/T150).
* Two-way powering system to correspond to the tape
recorder you use: supplied battery box or plug-in
power system".
* Power to the microphone is supplied directly from the
connected tape recorder.

* The microphone should never be dropped or
subjected to extreme shock.
* Keep the microphone away from extremely high
temperatures (above 60°C or 140°F).
* |f the microphone is placed too near a speaker, a
howling effect (acoustic feedback) may occur. If this
happens, separate the microphone away from the
speaker or decrease the speaker volume until the
howling stops.
Notes on lithium battery
* Keep the lithium battery out of the reach of children.
Should the battery be swallowed, immediately consult
a doctor.
* Wipe the battery with a dry cloth to assure a good

* Do not hold the battery with metallic tweezers,
otherwise a short-circuit may occur.

When the POWER switch is moved from OFF to
ON, this lamp will light momentarily if the battery is
in good condition.

Cover the microphone with the wind screen. It will
reduce wind or breath noises.

Align the projection inside of the holder with the
cut-out of the microphone.

Battery Installation
See tig. El and tig. 1.
When you connect the microphone to a tape recorder
without plug-in power system, install the Sony lithium
battery CR2025 (not supplied) in the battery
Install the lithium battery with correct polarity. If the
battery is installed with incorrect polarity, the
microphone does not operate.
1 While pushing the tip inside with some pointed
object, pull out the battery compartment.
2 Install the lithium battery in the battery compartment
with the + side up.
3 Insert the battery compartment in the battery box.
When to replace the battery
You can use the microphone continuously for approx.
330 hours when using the Sony lithium battery |
CR2025. When the battery becomes weak, the lamp
will light dimply or will not light at all. In this case,
replace the battery with new one (Sony lithium battery

Connect the L-shaped 3-pole miniplug directly to the
MIC (PLUG IN POWER) jack of the tape recorder such
as Sony M-607V, TCM-77, etc.
* When connecting a tape recorder whose microphone
jack is also used as headphones jack such as Sony
M-88V, M-909, etc,, use the battery box even though
that tape recorder is capable of powering a |
microphone (plug-in power system). When you
connect the L-shaped 3-pole plug directly to the
microphone jack, the tape recorder may not operate
* The signal from the microphone is supplied to both
left and right channels when you connect the
microphone to a stereo tape recorder with plug-in
power system.
Use the battery box.
Connect the L-shaped 2-pole plug to the microphone
jack of a tape recorder and connect the L-shaped 3-
pole plug to the microphone jack of the battery box. Set
the POWER switch on the battery box to ON.
