1. Product Brief
1.1.Product Brief
XCA923C is fully compliant with IEEE P1901 standard, support HD video and
high-speed data transmission over coax cable, phone line, and other mediums.
Its advantages include long distance transmission, high MAC data throughput,
multimedia support, and various topology configurations.
1.2.Key Features
 Support multi-node network topology: connect up to 20 IP cameras on a
single coax cable simultaneously.
 Long distance transmission: maximum transmission distance up to 2 km on
normal SVY75-5 coax cable.
 High data throughput: TCP/IP throughput rates measured in field tests
based on SVY75-5 coax cable,
o Cable length < 400M—92Mbps
o Cable length < 1000M—74Mbps
o Cable length < 2000M—30Mbps
 Ease of use, plug and play. No reconfiguration of IP camera or other
network terminal equipment required.
 Security and confidentiality: support 128-bit AES-CCM security with pairwise keying; support passcode reset on-the-fly.
 Leverage existing wiring such as coax cable, power line and phone line, no
Ethernet rewiring needed, greatly simplify network deployment, and
reduce network installation cost.
1.3.Product interface
BNC: Coax port, transmit PLC signal, and connect with other Coaxial-LAN
converter.
DC 12V IN: 12V DC power supply.
LAN: Ethernet port.
1.4.Product Indicator
XCA923C is equipped with two LED indicators.
Coaxial:
Physical link connectivity indicator: indicator light is on and solid when
units are connected through coax cable/twisted pair. Please check the
cable connection if the light is off.

LAN:
Ethernet connectivity/activity indicator: when an Ethernet connection has
been established, the indicator light will be solid; when data is transmitted
on the Ethernet connection, the indicator light will blink. .
1.5.Configuration
XCA923C can be configured as either a Master or a Slave using a switch.
When the switch is turned to the right, the device is configured as a
Master; when the switch is turned to the left, the device is configured as a
Slave. There should be only one Master in a domain, however multiple
Slaves are allowed.

Notice: A single coax cable/twisted pair domain can connect up to nine CoaxialLAN Converters in terms of one Master and eight Slaves.
2.3.Device Configuration
Only the Master/Slave mode needs to be configured when using the
Coaxial-LAN Converter. Usually there should be only one Master in a
domain. The Master/Slave mode can be switched from the front side of
the device.
Attention: The device needs to be power cycled after switching the
Master/Slave configuration while powered on.
Configuration Cases:
 Case 1: Figure 2-1 shows an example of a single domain with two CoaxialLAN Converters. Set one converter as a Master and the other one as a Slave.
 Case 2: Figure 2-2 shows an example of a single domain with four CoaxialLAN Converters. Set any one of the converters as a Master and the rest as
Slaves.
 Case 3: Figure 2-3 shows an example of two domains with nine Coaxial-LAN
Converters. Set one converter from domain 1 (see the upper part of Figure
2-3) as a Master, and the other one as a Slave. For domain 2 (see the lower
part of Figure 2-3), set one converter as a Master and the rest as Slaves.
