Specification
Recess mounted semi-automatic wash station. Model number 14.2201 with lockable (key differs for dryer
door) vertically brushed satin finish stainless steel doors and bowl and galvanised mild steel back box.
Unit fitted with non-concussive polished chrome tap with ½” MBSP connection and polished chrome soap
dispenser. Hand dryer with heater element 230V, 1.5kW. Thermostatic mixing valve with 15mm hot and
cold water connections. Unit suitable for 1 ½” waste outlet (supplied by others) and supplied with 5 litre
empty soap container. Manufactured by FC Frost Ltd.

Operation
Press tap head inwards to activate water flow. Water has 15 second timed flow rate.
To expel soap from dispenser, press soap dispenser plunger inwards, whilst placing a hand underneath
spout. Repeat if necessary. Dispenser expels approximately 1ml of soap per operation.
To activate dryer place hands underneath air nozzle situated at the top of the bowl and rub hands
together. Heater has built in safety thermal cut off. Sensor has 2 seconds inactivity cut off.

Unit installation







Recommended wall opening of 303w x 1325h x 285d (Minimum. Allow further 30mm for maintenance)
Recommended mounting height from underside of unit to FFL 495mm (Male Toilet).
Open doors with keys provided (Dryer door key differs from lower door). Position the unit into the
prepared wall recess allowing a 5mm clearance all around the unit so not to restrict airflow (Unit must
never be sealed into the wall). Unscrew and remove dryer cover plate.
Fit temporary screws into slots on side walls. Do not fully tighten screws into wall, to allow for
horizontal adjustment
Fix casing to studwork using suitable screws and remove temporary screws from slots
Plumb 1 1/2” BSP waste outlet and Thermostatic mixing valve, wire hand dryer (see below information
before commissioning)

Disconnect power before installation or servicing
A qualified electrician must wire this product. It is recommended that this unit be checked
every 6 months. Only a qualified electrician should be in possession of the dryer key.
All units must be supplied with a 3-wire service. The earth wire must be connected to the
dryer’s back plate
The means of disconnection must be in the fixed wiring in accordance with current electrical
regulations
Open front cover of dryer section with key provided (Key differs to lower door), remove the cover plate.
Pass the mains cable through the grommet and into the unit
The hand dryer must be supplied from the mains (220-240 volt supply) via a suitably rated double pole
isolation switch with at least 3mm air gap in each pole. Check that any slack on the mains cable will
not get into the fan inlet
Mains cable connections as follows:
Red or Brown wire to Live terminal marked “L”.
Black or Blue to Neutral terminal marked “N”.
Green or Yellow and Green to Earth terminal marked “E”.

Thermostatic mixing valve installation, commissioning and maintenance
Installation

Ensure all water pipes are flushed through until free of debris before connecting the valve. Pipework
must be flushed in accordance with Water Fittings Regulations 1999, schedule 2 G13.1
Valves should be connected to the 15mm water supply with the flow in the direction of the indicators
on the body ‘RED’ is hot, ‘BLUE’ is cold.
Note: Jointing compound can cause damage to the internal mechanism of shower valves and prevent
check valves from functioning properly. A malfunction resulting from use of jointing compounds is not
covered by warranty.


Commissioning

When the valve has been installed the valve mechanism should be exercised at least 5 times before
operating.
Lever off the top cap and rotate the adjuster using the key provided until fully open, then fully closed.
Repeat 5 times.
The valve is supplied pre-set for use at 43°C
If adjustments are required, carry out the following procedure: Remove cap and adjust mixed water
temperature. Anti clockwise to increase – Clockwise to lower temperature (60° turn = 5°C)
Re-check temperature; wait 10 seconds, open outlet and measure the mixed temperature again.
Finally check Anti-scald, cold water failure shut down – Isolate the cold water supply whilst valve is
operating at working temperatures. Valve will totally shut off within 2-3 seconds.
Once satisfied that the temperature is set correctly, re-fit the top cap. The valve is now ready for
service use.






In-service test should be carried out with a frequency, which identifies a need for service work before an
unsafe water temperature can result. Initially 6-8 weeks, then if a fluctuation of no greater than 2°C is
regularly recorded the test can be deferred to 24 weeks.
Checks:
 That any in-line or integral strainers are clean
 Any in-line or integral check valves or other anti-back siphonage devices are in good working order.
 That the valve piston is clean and free from limescale or other contaminant.
 Any isolating valves are in good order.

Care and Maintenance
Dryer sensor adjustment: Adjustable distance of sensor set at 127mm. If the dryer continuously runs or
fails to run adjustment of the sensor can be achieved by turning the sensor adjustment screw. This is
located to the left of the sensor. Clockwise to increase the distance, anti-clockwise to decrease.
Thermostatic mixing valve: Isolate water supplies and relieve system pressure, remove cap and internal
parts. Carefully clean, removing scale deposits and debris from the valve using only a mild de-scaling
agent. Re-assemble the valve. The valve should be lightly greased using a WRAS approved silicone
based grease. Re-commission the valve.
Flow rate adjustment: Flow rate can be adjusted by means of the isolator valve or via the TMV. Further
adjustment can be achieved by altering the flow rate inside the tap (see tap manual for instructions),
however if this adjustment is required be careful not to break the thread seal between the tap and its
fixings at the back of the unit. This may cause the connection to leak and invalidate the warranty.
Clean with soap and warm water, dry with a clean soft cloth.
To maintain finish use any industrial steel cleaner, polishing along the material grain with a clean soft
cloth.
FC Frost Ltd recommends “Steel Clean” cleaning agent, obtainable from: Vitopan (Tel: 01204 863000)
Abrasive cleaners, chloride cleaning agents and carbon steel brushes/steel wool will scratch the
stainless steel and should not be used.
Warranty
This product is covered by a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase to be free from defects if
installed and maintained in accordance with these instructions. FC Frost will replace or repair (as
appropriate) free of charge any product with a proven manufacturing defect if reported within the warranty
period.
