It is imperative that you, as the charterer, understand the important information, guidelines and crucial system operational procedures in the following Boat Manual prepared specifically for Miss Joy and if not followed correctly will result in significant damage to that system which you the charter will be financially responsible for its repair should the damage happen during your charter.
Please be sure you understand how these systems work, that they do work prior to your charter and if you have any questions to be sure to request one of our fleet operations personnel to meet with you at the boat to go over them.

1. Disconnect shore power.
2. Turn on Battery switch to “Both”
3. Make sure “Shift” lever is in neutral
4. Follow Ignition System steps 1 and 2
1. Turns the ignition ON. Be sure to do this before pushing START button. Press, release and wait for display screen below tachometer to turn on and 2 beeps.
4. Turns the ignition OFF. Be sure to do this after pushing STOP button. Press, release and wait for display screen below tachometer to turn off.
2. Press and hold until engine starts
3. Press and hold until engine stops.
Note: If no water is coming out the exhaust.

• Listen for water coming out of the exhaust while engine is on.
• Check the Raw Water Strainer for clogs, accessed from the aft cabin below bed.
• When checking for clogs be sure that the thru-hull is closed (accessed from the aft cabin below bed).
• Remember to open thru-hull when finished clearing strainer.
Handle on the starboard side of the helm pedestal. Push forward for forward, middle for neutral, and back for reverse. Silver knob below the base of the shift lever engages or disengages the transmission. Can only be operated in Neutral.
Pulling the knob out disengages so the throttle can be advanced without going into gear. When pushed in you can see the knob rotate when shifting.

Above the Chart Table (Main cabin Starboard). Leave AC and Battery Charger ON.
Stern lazarette (Starboard).
Battery Switch: Stern lazarette (Starboard). Turn “OFF” at slip.
NEVER TURN ANY BATTERY SWITCH TO OFF POSITION WITH THE ENGINE
RUNNING.
Sails
Fractional jib on a roller furling, take up line on the Starboard rail. Halyard leads aft over the companionway (locking cleat outside Port).
Lower the lazy jacks after raising the sail and tie back. Untie and put back up to take down the sail. Keep boat straight into the wind to avoid hang ups when raising. Halyard, sheet, reef lines and vang lead aft to locking cleats on top of the companionway. Vang and reef Port, other three Starboard.
Tankage
Fill Fitting: Located on the starboard bow well forward.
Tank Location: Under the V berth.
Tank Holds: 75 gallons.
Fill Fitting: Located outside the cockpit (Port, well aft).
Tank Location: Under the Stern lazarette (Port).
Tank Holds: 29 gallons.
NOTE: Remove fill cap slowly and hold it firmly so as not lose it overboard should the tether line break.
Do Not Leave Fuel Filler Nozzle Unattended When Fueling!
Waste Pump Out Fitting: Located outside the cockpit (Starboard, well aft).
Tank Location: Under the Stern lazarette (Starboard).
Locate the macerator through hull located in the Swim Step lazarette (Starboard) open the through hull (handle up and parallel to the line). Turn the macerator on at the Electrical panel and run until free not more than five minutes, close the through hull when finished. Do not confuse the macerator through hull with the larger through hull in the same area, this is the head direct overboard discharge valve.
Normally, keep closed, unless flushing head directly overboard. “Y” valve located under aft berth, center.
Standard marine toilet, water inlet through hull is in the same location as the head sink through hull.

Head Sink: Drains to a through hull under the sink, access through a hatch on the sink cabinet to your right.
Manual Bilge Pump: Located on the side of the cockpit seat (Starboard aft of the helm).
Automatic Bilge Pump Switch: Located in the electrical panel, pump is located in the bilge just aft of the mast.
Refrigerator: DC switch on the electrical panel.
Stove: Propane, tanks in the swim step lazarette (port). Safety switch below the
Electrical Panel.
Galley Sink: Drains to a through hull under the sink cabinet.
Auto Helm: Switch on the Electrical Panel, engage at the helm.
