Pall Ultipor® WG Elements
for the Transmission and
Distribution Industry
Pall Ultipor WG elements remove
particulate and water contamination from
insulating fluids used in transformers,
load tap changers, oil filled circuit
breakers, switches, reactors, and other
types of electrical equipment.
Problems with Contamination
Very small carbon and metallic particles
generated during arcing coat contacts,
accelerate wear and increase temperature.
The presence of water can accelerate wear
by promoting oil oxidation, acid buildup,
decreased dielectric strength and lower
interfacial tension of the oil. It is critical that
these fine particles and water are removed in
order to extend equipment life and oil life.
Water and Particulate Removal
The solution to controlling both water and
particulate contamination is the new Ultipor
WG element. Designed to meet the demands
of the utilities industry, Ultipor WG elements
incorporate the technology for the removal of
free water, emulsified water, and particulate
from oil.

Filter Medium: Inert, inorganic
fibers, impregnated and bonded with
epoxy resin, in a tapered pore
structure. Water absorbent media is
blend of inert, organic, and inorganic
fibers in a polyester fiber matrix.
