7. MAINTAINING THE AIR CURTAIN
Before any work is done, the main electrical supply to the air curtain must be shut off!
We recommend that a service inspection be done at least twice a year (in autumn and spring), or
even more often, depending on local conditions. This involves removing dust from the suction
cover and interior areas of the air curtain.
Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dirt from the suction cover and wipe it with a damp cloth.
Also use a vacuum cleaner and damp cloth to remove dirt from the inside and surface of the air
curtain.
Failure to maintain the air curtain may decrease its efficiency and shorten its life!
15
8. TROUBLESHOOTING
8.1 SAFETY ELEMENTS
8.1-1 Preventing the electric heater from overheating
If the electric heater overheats, the safety thermostat will shut it off. Each heating element is
equipped with its own safety thermostat. The electric heater will go back on automatically after
cooling.
If the safety thermostat fails or malfunctions, the emergency thermostat will go on and turn the
heater off permanently. Emergency thermostat is equipped with manual RESET.
• There is no signal when the thermostats are activated. A failure can be recognised by reduced
heater output when the settings panel indicates it should be working.
• When the emergency thermostat activates, it is necessary to determine the cause of the overheating!
• Never reach inside the air curtain unless the main electrical supply has been turned off!
8.1-2 Preventing the fan from overheating
If any motor is overheated and the heat safety fuse shuts it off, the other motors remain in operation. After cooling, the motor will automatically go back on.
16
8. TROUBLESHOOTING
• There is no signal when an overheated motor shuts off. A failure can be recognised by decreased
air flow volume.
• When a motor shuts off, it is necessary to determine the cause of the failure!
• Never reach inside the air curtain unless the main electrical supply has been turned off!
• Whenever an air curtain’s motor or heater overheats, it is necessary to detect and eliminate the
cause.
• If the cause is any sort of internal failure in the air curtain, it is absolutely necessary to contact the
appropriate authorised service centre.
9. CONCLUSION
If you have any doubts or questions, do not hesitate to contact our sales or technical support department.
Before operation and maintanance, thoroughly read the section “Safe use of air curtains”. It contains all instructions on the safe and correct use of the product.
