Make a Face Maitland Regional Art Gallery (MRAG) Saturday 3 June 2017 – Sunday 10 September 2017 INFORMATION FOR SCHOOLS Make a Face is an exhibition of 2D and 3D artworks by children from local primary schools and preschools in the Maitland and Lower Hunter region based around the theme a making a face. The exhibition will be in the ground floor Art Factory exhibition space at MRAG. THEME: Make a Face is the seventh face–themed exhibition presented by MRAG that exhibits artworks by young artists from Maitland and Lower Hunter region. We are delighted to exhibit fresh artworks made by our youngest local artists as they explore their creativity. As in all previous Face exhibitions at MRAG, this is an opportunity to have on show for our audience artworks made by our youngest artists; to achieve this all schools who register to participate will be represented. The exhibition Make a Face invites children from pre-school to primary school to do just that – any face… a portrait, a self-portrait, a fantasy face, a funny face, an imaginary face – of a creature, a person, an animal or an insect or whatever the artist thinks of - in 2D or 3D form. ARTWORKS: The artworks for Make a Face can be 2 Dimensional or 3 Dimensional. Each participating school can nominate a pool of up to 6 artworks for possible inclusion in the exhibition. 2D artworks selected for the exhibition will be framed in MRAG stock frames behind perspex. All nominated 2D artworks must be: - Maximum size A3 (297mm x 420mm) or less Made on paper or card Unframed and without any mounts or backing cardboard Made of any material or combination of materials that are intact and suitable for exhibition Labelled on back with supplied label (see below for template) 3D artworks selected for the exhibition will be displayed on shelves attached to the gallery wall.
