The palm-top indicator-simulator series
MicroCal are multifunction instruments
designed to check and calibrate your test
and process equipment. MicroCal calibrators meet, in a modern and practical
way, the everyday needs of Quality and
Maintenance instrumentation engineers,
both in laboratory and fleld work.
Accurate, compact, rugged, easy to use;
the ideal solution for measuring and simulating: millivolts, volts, milliamperes,
ohms, thermocouples and resistance
thermometers.
Eurotron palm-top calibrators have been
developed using the most advanced microprocessor technology to grant high
accuracy on extended ranges and a powerful operating flexibility. The modular
firmware includes the algorithms for thermocouples and resistance thermometers in accordance with IEC, DIN and JIS
standards. Both IPTS68 and ITS90 temperature scale are memory stored and
can be selected using the keyboard. A
unique internal automatic Rj compensation system providing the accurate
input and output readings in a temperature range from -5°C to +50°C.
Further, external compensation is available with temperature
programmable from
-50°C to +100°C.
The simulationmeasurement of
resistance and
temperature with
resistance thermometers uses
a special proprietary active
circuit
(Eurotron
Patent
206327).
The calibrators are able

to source a single step value; to program up to 7 simulation programs using
up to 60 values; and to source programmable loops (start, step, end
values and time), using menu-driven
procedures.
The instruments can mathematically filter
unstable input signals, convert linear signals in technical units and linearize quadratic signals.
Selection of the operating function is
made using a rugged membrane keyboard which assures up to one million
operations per key. MicroCal use two
special thick film membrane “slidewires”
to set the simulated signal value.
Measured or simulated value is indicated
on a high quality alphanumeric LCD dot
matrix display which provides good contrast even in poor lighting conditions. The
instrument is powered by four Ni-MH
rechargeable batteries; an external battery
charger is supplied as standard accessory.
Quality System
Research, development, production, inspection and certification activities are
defined by methods and procedures of
the Eurotron Quality System. Eurotron
Quality System has been inspected and
certified for compliance to lSO 9001 by
Gastec, a Dutch notified body.
Five models
MicroCal palm-top series include 5 different calibrators to select the instrument more suitable for each specificy
laboratory and/or field applications.

Display & Keyboard
The high contrast alphanumeric LCD
display with dot matrix (7x5 dots per
character - 16 characters) allows easy
reading even in poor light conditions.
Simultaneous indication of the measured or simulated value, engineering
unit, type of sensor or signal, temperature scale and Rj mode. MicroCal 2+,
the 2 channels calibrator, has a 2 line
back lighted LCD display for simultaneous reading of input and output signals.
A metal-click tactile polycarbonate
membrane keyboard ( MicroCal 1+
MAV, MicroCal 2+ and MicroCal 10+),
with a working life of one million operations per key, seal the internal electronics from the surrounding environment. Contact closure of the membrane keys is acknowledged, as a
coded signal, directly by the microprocessor. Two thick film membrane
“slidewires” (patent pending) allows
the quick and an easy setting of the
simulation value.

proprietary design of a low thermal capacity binding posts incorporating a high

Each MicroCal is factory calibrated and
certified against 1st Line Standards
mantained in the Eurotron Metrology
Laboratory. These Reference Standards
are periodically certified by an
Internationally recognised Laboratory
to ensure traceability, and shipped with
a Report of Calibration stating the nominal and actual values and the deviation errors.

MicroCal 1+ MAV is a voltage and current process calibrator designed to
meet, in a practical way, the needs
of instrumentation engeneers, both
in laboratory and field work.
Accurate, compact, rugged, easy to
use it is the ideal solution to measure
and simulate millivolts, volts (up to
10V) and mA on active and passive
loop.
The two channels model allows simultaneous measurement and simulation for voltage (up to 30V) and
current on active and passive loop.
An accurate (0.03% of rdg) and powerful multi function system for testing,
measuring and calibrating into a single
compact portable instrument.
MicroCal 1+ is the ideal solution for
measuring and simulating: milliVolts
