The AC adapter will have a standard mains plug. Do not remove this plug.
Use only approved connectors and extension cables if the mains lead is not suitable.
• If the mains lead gets damaged it must be replaced by a qualified service agent with an approved lead of
the same type.
• If for any reason you cut off the mains plug, please destroy the old plug as it would be dangerous if inserted
into a live power outlet. Carefully follow the wiring instructions supplied with the new plug.
• Remove the fuse from UK standard (BS1363) plugs before disposal.
• Never use a fused mains plug without the fuse cover.
Mains plug wiring for the UK
• The colours of the wires in the mains lead of this unit may not match the coloured markings of the mains

Using your television safely
We have designed and made this television to meet European safety standards, but as with any electronic
equipment you must take care to stay safe and get the best results. Here is some good advice to help you
do this…
Read these instructions carefully before you try to use the television.
Protect the mains lead. You must make sure the mains lead cannot be walked on, crushed, chafed, cut,
and so on.
Avoid harsh conditions such as wet or damp places, high humidity, strong vibration, extremely high or
low temperatures, strong sunlight and places which are very dusty.
Never fit makeshift stands or legs to the television.
Never let anyone, especially children, push objects into holes and ventilation slots.
Don't continue to use your television if you have spilt liquids in it, if it is damaged in any way or if it does
not work normally. Immediately unplug the television and get expert advice.
Switch off mains power when you leave the television unattended or leave the house.
Ventilation
Place the television on a hard flat surface away from direct sunlight and heat sources. If it is in a cabinet,
allow at least a 10 centimetre gap all around. Don't obstruct the ventilation slots, including those underneath,
with soft furnishings. Overheating will shorten the life of the television and increase the risk of fire.
Cleaning
Unplug the television and use only a lightly dampened soft cloth . Do not use chemical solvents or strong
detergents as these may damage the cabinet or screen finish.
Important Safety Warnings
• To prevent electric shock, do not remove any cover.
• If anything goes wrong, don't try and fix it yourself, get a qualified service agent to look at it.
• Do not expose this television or its power supply to dripping or splashing or place any objects
filled with liquids, such as vases, on them or above them.
• Never put a naked flame source on or near the television.
• Pull the mains plug out of the wall socket and disconnect the aerial lead during
thunderstorms.
Limitation of use notice
This television - PC monitor is only designed for home or office use as described in these instructions. Any
other use may invalidate the guarantee and might be dangerous.
This television - PC monitor is not approved for use in a road vehicle. Potentially hazardous
interaction with electronic systems in the vehicle could occur.

Tuning in the Stations
Automatic Programming System (APS)
Models equipped with APS can automatically tune in the stations and assign them to programme numbers in
a set order, for example Programme 1 = BBC1, Programme 2 = BBC2 and so on.

that can be tuned-in like a TV station, put it on stand-by. ‘Stand-by’ means the equipment is switched ‘off ’
but power is supplied to it. Wait until you have tuned in all the TV stations before you try to tune in this
other equipment using ‘Manual Tuning’.
Manual tuning is also useful for tuning in an extra station.

them.
Via the aerial input
If you want to connect your TV to equipment
like video recorders (VCR) or decoders that
do not have a scart socket you must connect
them to the aerial input of your TV with a

Have you selected the correct TV system? Is
your TV set or house aerial located too close
to the loudspeakers, non-earthed audio
equipment or neon lights, etc. ?
Is the aerial connected properly? Are the
plugs connected tightly to the aerial socket?
Is the aerial cable damaged? Are suitable
plugs used to connect the aerial? If you are
in doubt, consult your dealer.
Troubleshooting
Mountains or high buildings can cause
double pictures or ghost images. Sometimes you can improve the picture quality by
changing the direction of the aerial.
Is the picture or Teletext unrecognisable?
Pictures which are grainy or have ghost images are bad for teletext.
The picture quality may degrade when two
peripherals are connected to the TV at the
same time. Try disconnecting one of the peripherals, see “Tuning in other equipment”.
For Monitor :
• Check the 15-pin computer monitor cable
connection.
• If you have used an adaptor to connect the
15-pin cable to a computer, make sure the
monitor side is fully compatible with the VGA
“mini-D” type 15-pin connection.
For Monitor :
• Check that Video (Signal) Cable from the
Display has been securely and correctly
connected to the 15-pin Video Connector
on the rear panel of the Computer.
• Check that Video Card is firmly seated in
card slot of Computer motherboard.
Sound
You can not hear any sound. Did you perhaps interrupt the sound, pressing “ ” key?
Check the volume level in the sound menu
has not been stored at zero.
Sound only coming from one speaker?
Check balance is not set at one extreme in
the sound menu.
