For ventilation, leave a space of at least 10 cm free all around the set. Use this apparatus in tropical and/or moderate climates. Features It is a remote controlled colour television and PC monitor. In PC mode, up to 69 kHz horizontal frequency supports up to maximum resolution of 1024x768 at 75Hz vertical frequency. 100 programmes from VHF, UHF bands or cable channels can be preset. It can tune cable channels. Controlling the TV is very easy by its menu driven system. It can be operated from the mains supply with an AC adapter. Check the voltage range marked on the adapter includes the local supply (230 V ~ 50Hz for Europe). Mains plug The AC adapter will have a standard mains plug. Do not remove this plug. Use only approved connectors and extension cables if the mains lead is not suitable. If the mains lead gets damaged it must be replaced by a qualified service agent with an approved lead of the same type. If for any reason you cut off the mains plug, please destroy the old plug as it would be dangerous if inserted into a live power outlet. Carefully follow the wiring instructions supplied with the new plug. Remove the fuse from UK standard (BS1363) plugs before disposal. Never use a fused mains plug without the fuse cover. Mains plug wiring for the UK The colours of the wires in the mains lead of this unit may not match the coloured markings of the mains plug terminals. You can identify the correct terminals as follows. The wire that is coloured BROWN is connected to the terminal that is marked with the letter L or coloured red. The wire that is coloured BLUE is connected to the terminal that is marked with the letter N or coloured black. Make sure the lead is firmly secured under the cord clamp. Do not connect anything to the earth terminal which is marked E or or coloured green or green and yellow. Mains fuse UK standard (BS1363) plugs must have a 3 amp (BS1362 type) fuse fitted. For any other type of plug or connection, you should fit a fuse rated between 3 and 5 amps in the mains plug or adapter, or at the fuse box feeding this unit. Here is some good advice to help you do this Read these instructions carefully before you try to use the television. Protect the mains lead. You must make sure the mains lead cannot be walked on, crushed, chafed, cut, and so on. Avoid harsh conditions such as wet or damp places, high humidity, strong vibration, extremely high or low temperatures, strong sunlight and places which are very dusty. The TV switches to stand-by and the red light on the front panel turns on. 2- To switch on the TV from stand-by mode either: Press a digit button on the remote control so that a programme number is selected, or, Press -P/Ch or "P/Ch+ button at the top of the TV or press -P/CH or P/CH+ button on the remote control, When the TV is turned on this way you will see the programme that was viewed before switching off. By either way the TV will switch on and the panel light will go green. If you have equipment in the aerial path like a video recorder or satellite receiver, which generates a signal that can be tuned-in like a TV station, put it on stand-by. Stand-by means the equipment is switched off but power is supplied to it. Wait until you have tuned in all the TV stations before you try to tune in this other equipment using Manual Tuning. Manual tuning is also useful for tuning in an extra station. Usually the APS menu in step (2) will appear automatically when you switch on for the first time. If they are not quite in the order you prefer, move them around with the Insert function (green button). If its the right picture, go to step 4. You might find the station faster if you know which band to start searching in, C is for conventional channels and S is for special or cable channels Stop and reverse search direction by pressing . Stored appears briefly to confirm the programme number is assigned to the station or other equipment. Repeat stages 2 to 4 for each programme you wish to tune. Press the TV button to start normal viewing. See Install menu about other features of the install menu. Volume Setting Press VOLUME - button to decrease volume or VOLUME + button to increase volume, so a volume level scale (slider) will be displayed at the middle of the bottom on the screen. Programme Selecting Press P/CH + button to select the next programme or P/CH - button to select the previous programme. Entering Main Menu Press "MENU" button to enter Main menu. In the Main menu select sub-menu using P/ CH - or P/CH + button and enter the submenu using VOLUME - or VOLUME + button. To learn the usage of the menus, refer to the Menu System section. Operating with Remote Control The remote control handset of your TV is designed to control all the functions of the model you selected. The functions will be described in accordance with the menu system of your TV. Functions of the menu system are described in Menu System section. Volume Setting Press + button to increase volume. Press button to decrease volume. A volume level scale (slider) will be displayed at the middle of the bottom on the screen. Programme Selecting (Previous or next programme) Press -P/CH button to select the previous programme. Press P/CH+ button to select the next programme. Programme Selecting (direct access): Press digit buttons on the remote control handset to select programmes between 0 and 9. TV will switch to the selected programme. To select programmes between 10 - 99, you must press the double digit button "- / - -" first. While 3 is displayed at the left hand upper corner of the screen press the two digit buttons for the programme number you want to select. Do not wait more than 3 seconds before pressing any button, otherwise "P - -" will disappear and the television will go back to single-digit mode. Single digit mode resumes automatically after double-digit entry. Programme Swapping Press "P<P" (programme swap) button to select the last selected programme. This button provides swapping between last two selected programmes. For example, select programme 8, then select programme 2. Now, if you press "P<P" button, programme 8 will be selected. Sound Menu To change sound settings Menu System Your TV has been designed with a menu system to provide easy manipulation of a multi-function system. The TV is controlled by choosing the commands which are displayed on the screen. Press the "M" button. The main menu will be displayed at the middle of the screen. A pointer at the left shows which item is selected in the menu. 0HQX Enter the Sound Menu directly by pressing the Red button or, As you enter the main menu, sound will be the first item.Enter the sound menu by pressing " ". Setting Volume: As you enter the sound menu, Volume will be the first selected option. Press button to increase volume. Press button to decrease volume. 6RXQG To select a sub-menu press or to move the pointer then press to open it, or press the "OK" button. MAIN MENU Setting Balance The menu system is described below. The short way in order to enter the menus, press : "M" Button, Main Menu. Red Button, Sound Menu. Green Button, Picture Menu. Yellow Button, Feature Menu. Blue Button, Install Menu. It adjusts the sound distribution between the left and right speakers. Using or button select Balance. Press button to change balance to the right. Press button to change balance to the left. Using or button select Headphone. Press or button to change Mode. Press or button or directly press OK button on Headphone, to enter the Headphone menu. This is a sub-menu of Sound menu, and all items in this menu work the same way as in the sound menu. You can choose Mono, Stereo or Dual (I-II) mode, only if the selected channel supports that mode. You can also change sound mode directly pressing I-II button on your remote control. 6RXQG 6RXQG 0RQR Setting Headphone Volume In case of bilingual broadcast (Dual Sound), you can select original or dubbed language using mode option. Setting Effect You can use this feature to switch the sound effect on and off. Pressing or button will turn on and off this feature. If the current sound system is Mono and the sound effect is set ON, then the sound will be heard as if it is Stereo. If the current sound system is Stereo, switching this effect on will enhance the stereo sound. As you enter the Headphone sound menu, Volume will be the first selected option. Press button to increase volume. Press button to decrease volume. WARNING: Start listening through headphones with the volume set low and increase it if required. Pressing or button will change the current sound mode. (for example: If the current sound mode is stereo, it can be changed to mono. In case of bilingual broadcast, you can select original or dubbed language with the mode function. So when somebody listens to the original language from the loudspeakers, somebody else can listen to the dubbed language from headphone. In Mode item there are five predefined and one user defined options. These are User, Classic, Jazz, Rock, Pop and Flat. The predefined options cannot be changed by the user. To Store the Settings The cursor symbol changes to indicate midposition. To store the "user" settings of the equaliser, move down to "'store" and press " ", or just press "OK". Press OK button on the remote control to store the settings directly. or, Using or button select Store. Press or OK button to store current headphone volume and balance. The stored values will be valid for all the programmes. Equalizer Using or button select Equalizer. Press button or directly press OK button to enter Equalizer sub-menu. When "user" mode is selected you can press or to point to each frequency value and adjust the setting to boost or cut the volume around that frequency by pressing or . During the store process all the items are stored, moreover, the User mode information would not be lost. In other words, when the user mode is selected again, after storing the Mode with one of the predefined options, the user defined frequency values would be set. Setting AVL Using or button select AVL. 6RXQG Pressing or button will turn on and off this feature. To Store the Settings When the cursor is on any item which has no sub-menu press OK button on the remote control to store the settings directly. Press button to increase brightness. Press button to increase contrast level. Picture Menu To enter the Picture menu directly, press the Green button, or Press "M" button, now you are in main menu. In the Main menu, select Picture using or button, then enter the Picture menu pressing button. Setting Colour Using or button select Colour. Press button to increase colour level. Then enter the Feature menu pressing button. 0HQX Setting Hue Hue setting will only appear when NTSC video is input to the AV, S-video or scart inputs. Adjust it if the colours in the picture do not look natural. Using or button select Hue. Press Sleep Timer button to increase (warmer). As you enter the Feature menu, Sleep Timer will be the first selected option. Use button to change the Sleep Timer values between Off, 0:15, 0:30, 0:45, 1:00, 1:15, 1:30, 1:45 and 2:00. Press button to decrease (colder). The Child Lock feature can be set On or Off by button. When Off is selected, there will be no difference in the operation of your TV. When On is selected, the TV can only be controlled by the remote control handset. Install Menu To enter the Install menu directly, press the Blue button, or Press "M" button, now you are in main menu. In the main menu, select Install. using or button.
