1 Introduction
To restore factory settings an eTOP EPC, IPC or eCC you need to restore a ghost image.
Requirements:
1. Ghost image (one ore more file named “.gho”, “.ghs”) suitable for your device
2. Archive “USB_Recovery_package.zip”, containing:
 ISO image: “winpe_x86.iso”,
 Rufus USB Formatting Utility: “rufus-2.7p.exe”;
3. USB Memory stick greater than Ghost image.
Only tools 1 and 2 are provided by Technical Support.

2 Prepare a bootable USB Memory
Launch Rufus software:
Plug an USB Memory Stick then software will report current memory status.
Click on button (1) to browse and select ISO Image “winpe_x86.iso” will be loaded on USB Memory:

Verify the highlighted option are automatically selected:
Then click [Start] button and confirm warning about all data will be erased:
Ghost Image files can be now copied on root of USB Memory (example below show 3 files copied):

3 Change BIOS settings to be able to boot from USB
Plug-in USB Memory into an eTOP EPC, IPC or eCC usb port.
Power up the PC and select F2 or ESC or DEL (depend on model) to entering BIOS setup and go to
Boot tab as showed:
Under “Boot Option Priorities” locate “Boot Option #1” and change here the value in
“UEFI: USB Flash disk” as per images below:

When confirmed SATA and UEFI USB Flash should be swapped.
Then Locate “Hard Drive BBS Priorities” and enter:

4 Restore factory settings by ghost image
When USB Memory is recognized at boot,
you will be prompted to Press any key to boot from USB, like image below:
Pressing any key the Recovery OS will be launched from USB Memory showing a progress bar:
At end of loading procedure, Ghost software will executed:

Into Ghost application select: Local > Disk > From Image
then browse for the “.gho” image file provided and select “Open”:

Now you will be asked to select the local destination drive where disk-image will be restored.
Select the appropriate disk drive and confirm with OK.
NOTE: also USB Memory drives are listed. Select drive checking “Size (MB)” column.
If the local destination drive is partitioned with two or more partitions,
Software will ask to select the local destination partition where disk-image will be restored.
Select the first partition usually labeled “C” and confirm with OK.
NOTE: restoring a disk-image, all partitions will be erased.
Finally confirm the operation by click on “Yes”:

The restore process begin and progress bar will be showed:
When process succeeded, a confirmation dialog will showed asking to restart computer.
Remove USB Memory and select “Reset Computer” to trigger a restart:

5 Windows error after disk-image restore
After disk-image restore, on next reboot, you could encounter an issue like:

A blue screen error: *** STOP: 0x0000007B (…, …, …, …)
as showed below:

An install error when Windows is preparing computer for first use:
This errors has to deal with storage controller configuration. What is happening is that Windows is not
communicating correctly with storage controller showing an error at boot.

To solve the issue:
 power up the PC and select F2 or ESC or DEL (depend on model) to entering BIOS setup,
 go to Advanced tab,
 select “IDE Configuration”,
Then change “Configure SATA as” option from AHCI to IDE or viceversa:
