Notes
• The information in this document applies to OfficeMate and
ExamWRITER programs using a Microsoft SQL database.
• This utility will not run on computers using Terminal Services.
• Do not use the OfficeMate Change .INI Utility unless you are
instructed to do so by OfficeMate Customer Care. If you have any

The OfficeMate Change .INI Utility changes the location of your OfficeMate
database and updates your OMATE.INI file’s data directory.

To use the OfficeMate Change .INI Utility

Close OfficeMate and ExamWRITER on every computer on which they are
open.

Backup your OfficeMate patient data, verify that your backup was successful,
and place your backup in a safe and secure location.
Note
Eyefinity/OfficeMate limits the support it provides exclusively to
its own products and therefore does not provide assistance and
support for any issues related to data backup.

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7 and you enabled User Access
Control (UAC), follow the instructions below; otherwise, go to step 4:
a.
Right-click on Start on your computer’s desktop.
b.
Select Open Windows Explorer.
c.
Open the local disk drive on the computer.
d.
Double-click the Users folder.
e.
Double-click on the name of the user who is logged into the computer.
f.
Click in the Address bar at the top of the window and type \Appdata after
the address (for example, C:\Users\username\Appdata).
g.
Press Enter.
h.
Double-click the Local folder.
i.
Double-click the VirtualStore folder.
j.
If there are no subfolders in the VirtualStore folder, then go to step 4;
otherwise, double-click the Windows folder.
k.
Delete all of the Omate32.ini files within the folder.
l.
Close Windows Explorer.

Click Start on your computer’s desktop.

Select Programs.

Select OfficeMate Software Solutions.

Select Utilities.

Select OM Change INI Utility.
The OfficeMate Change .INI Utility opens.

Click SQL Search to search for the SQL server that you have installed on your
system.

Select your SQL database from the Available Databases box.
Note

If you are using a firewall or are unable to find your SQL server and
database, type the name of your SQL server and database in the
SQL Server and SQL Database text boxes.
Select the drive and directory where your OfficeMate Suite data resides, or, type
the drive and directory where your OfficeMate Suite data resides in the Shared
Directory text box.

Click Update.

Click Exit after your Omate32.ini file has been updated.
