Product Concept
The PFM-42X1 series are 42” high resolution plasma display which incorporates a native
XGA (non-square pixel) progressive PDP with high contrast ratio. They are positioned as
the high-resolution version of the PFM-42V1 series, and basically has the same
industrial design and features.
Due to the XGA progressive panel, PFM-42X1 series are especially suitable for HD and
XGA contents. Besides resolution, it can reproduce more than 1 billion colors which
realizes smooth and natural color reproduction. DVI HDCP input is also available for
high quality picture (except for 42X1N).
PFM-42X1 series will greatly support FY’04’s 42” HD business by aiming the lower price
range as “The Value Line” product together with 42V1 series.
Target Application
Information, presentation, video conference, digital signage, etc.

definition video signal display. Especially for an XGA signal, a very sharp image is
available because of pixel-to-pixel signal reproduction without any pixel conversion*2.
*1 Non-square pixel. Aspect ratio is 16:9
*2 Reproduced in 16:9 aspect ratio
NEW
„ Smooth and detailed picture reproduction with new panel ASIC
1.06 billion colors
Corrects the luminance gap between certain color steps to reduce the false contour
z Corrects the luminance flickering caused by error diffusion of the bright picture
z Corrects the black level of the dark picture for higher contrast
z
z
NEW
