Frequently asked questions

To drain the air receiver tank, first switch off the air compressor, remove the plug from the mains supply, place a suitable container beneath the compressor to catch any condensation, then carefully open the drain tap until you hear a hissing noise, this is the reservoir depressurising. When the gauge indicates zero and the hissing has stopped, tighten the drain outlet nut again.

The maximum operating pressure of the compressor is 8 bar (115 psi).

Do not operate accessories at an air pressure greater than the maximum rated air pressure for the accessory. Refer to the accessory manual for specifications.

Connect a hose to the compressor using the hose to compressor quick release connector. Push the hose connector towards the compressor and at the same time pull back the brass collar, this will allow the hose to be removed.

If the compressor overheats, switch it off and wait approximately 5 minutes before pressing the reset button and switching on again. If the compressor continues to overheat, contact your local Impax dealer.
