Place the vacuum near the pond, ensuring a minimum clearance of 2m (6.5ft) for safety. Position it as close to water level as possible, making sure it's standing firmly. Lay the discharge hose to direct the sludge water away from the pond, and connect the device to the main power.

The filter bag might be full of dirt, the pump may not be plugged in, the pump could be blocked at the intake opening, the outlet hose might be blocked, the delivery head could be too great for the pump, the suction hose could be blocked, or the sponge filter below the suction head might be blocked with dirt.
