A. Vehicle Disassembly
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Cover the fender before starting.

6. Prepare a blanket, then place the blanket over the front edge of the center console. (Fig. A5)

Remove the two clips securing the bracket cover.

B. Piezo Buzzer Installation
1. Remove and save the three bolts securing R/B No. 2 to the body in the engine room. (Fig. B1)

2. Locate the vehicle harness’ gray 2P connector, then remove and discard the black cap. (Fig. B2) i.
Locate the 2P connector between the R/B No.2 and the body.
ii. Pull the connector toward the battery to remove the cap and make the connection.

2. Plug in the V3 harness’ ECU connectors to the V3 ECU. (Fig. D2) i.
Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.

3. Using 3M Prep Solvent -70, clean the area indicated on the driver’s side cowl area. (Fig. D3)
4. Remove the backing sheet, and attach the butyl tape near the driver side cowl area as shown. (Fig D3) i.

H. Completing the Installation
1. Complete the reassembly of the vehicle.
i.
Reconnect any disconnected connectors.
ii. Verify the panels fit together properly with no uneven gaps between them.
2. Clean up and remove any trash.
3. Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable. (Fig. H1) i.
Position the negative battery terminal at an angle of 45˚ to the battery as shown.
ii. Tighten the nut with 3 ft•lbs of torque.
iii. Be careful to not touch the positive battery terminal.
4. Leave the owner’s manual, warranty card, and remote controls in their protective bags and place in the glove box.

Check:
Accessory Function Checks
Press and release the remote control’s lock button to start the system’s arming process.
Look for:
Wait 30 seconds.
Press and release the remote control’s unlock button to disarm the system.
1.
The tail and marker lights flash once.
The buzzer chirps once.
All doors lock.
The LED lights up.
2.
After 30 seconds, the LED starts flashing; the system is now armed.
3.
The tail and marker lights flash twice.
The buzzer chirps twice.
The interior lights turn on for thirty seconds.
The driver's door unlocks.
The LED stops flashing.
4.
The tail and marker lights flash twice.
The buzzer chirps twice.
All remaining doors unlock.
Press and release the remote control’s unlock button again within 3 seconds of disarming the system.
Open and close the driver's door.
Arm and disarm the system with the remote again, then wait thirty seconds.
Press and release the remote control's unlock button again to stop the arming process.
Open the driver's door, then press and release the remote control's lock button.
Close the driver's door.
Press and release the remote control's panic button to trigger the panic alarm.
Press and release the remote control's panic button again to stop the panic alarm.
5.
The doors automatically relock.
The system automatically starts the arming process.
6.
Refer to step #3.
7.
The buzzer sounds continuously for 5 seconds.
8.
The buzzer stops sounding.
9.
The horn sounds repeatedly.
The interior lights turn on.
The headlights flash repeatedly.
The tail and marker lights flash repeatedly.
The LED lights up.

All the lights stop flashing and/or turn off.

Check:
Sit in the driver's seat and make sure all doors are closed.
Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to "ON".
Roll down all the windows.
Turn the key back to "LOCK".
Remove the key and exit the vehicle.
Insert the key into the driver's door key cylinder and turn it toward the front of the vehicle to start the arming process.
Wait 30 seconds.
Reach inside and manually unlock the driver's door to trigger an alarm.
Manually unlock the driver's door again and
hold it unlocked, open the door, then sit in the driver's seat.
Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to "START" to stop the alarm.
Look For:

All doors lock.
12.
All doors unlock.
13.
All doors lock.
The LED lights up.
14.
After 30 seconds, the LED starts flashing; the system is now armed.
15.
The driver's door automatically relocks.
The horn sounds repeatedly.
The interior lights turn on.
The headlights flash repeatedly.
The tail and marker lights flash repeatedly.
The LED lights up.
16.
The driver's door lock attempts to lock repeatedly.
The horn continues to sound repeatedly.
The interior lights remain on.
The headlights, tail lights and marker lights continue flashing.
The LED remains on.

The horn stops sounding.
All the lights stop flashing and/or turn off.
The LED turns off.
The starter cranks and the engine starts.
Turn the key back to "LOCK", remove it, then exit the vehicle.

Check:
With the door open, press the lock switch on the door to lock the doors, then close the door to start the system's arming process.
Wait 30 seconds.
Reach inside and manually unlock the front passenger's door to trigger an alarm.
Look For:

The buzzer chirps once.
All doors lock.
The LED lights up.

After 30 seconds, the LED starts flashing; the system is now armed.

The front passenger's door automatically relocks.
The horn sounds repeatedly.

The LED lights up.

All lights stop flashing and/or turn off.
The LED turns off.

Press and release the remote control's unlock button to stop the alarm.
Press and release the remote control's lock button to start the system's arming process.
For D-Cab "only", climb into the rear passenger area, then close the door.
Press and release the remote control's lock button to start the system's arming process, then wait 30 seconds until the system is armed.
Unlock and open one of the rear passenger doors to trigger an alarm.
Repeat the above steps with the other rear passenger door (if equipped.)
Roll up all windows, remove the key and exit the vehicle.

Perform the following check in a temperature controlled environment.
Pull the plunger of the striker tool all the way out to tap the center of the driver's door window again to trigger an alarm.

The tail and maker lights flash repeatedly.
The LED lights up.
NOTE: Adjust as necessary by increasing the GBS set ting to the next level if the alarm does not trigger during the functional verifications.
NOTE: If you do not disarm the system, the alarm will last 20 seconds. It is not necessary to check the
alarm duration.

A.
Vehicle Disassembly
1.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. (Fig. A1) i.
Cover the fender before starting.
ii.
Be careful not to touch the positive battery cable.
2.
Remove the driver side step cover. (Fig. A2) i.
Protect the seat and floor before starting.
iii. Do not scratch the cover.
3.
Remove the driver’s cowl cover. (Fig. A3) i.
Do not scratch the cover.
5.
Remove the lower dash cover. (Fig. A4) ii.
Do not scratch the cover.
6.
Prepare a blanket, then place the blanket over the front edge of the center console. (Fig. A5)
7.
Loosen the bracket cover, but do not remove the cover. (Fig A6) ii.
Do not scratch the cover.
iii. Do not bend the cover.
B.
Piezo Buzzer Installation
1. Remove and save the three bolts securing R/B
No. 2 to the body in the engine room. (Fig. B1)
3.
Plug in the Piezo Buzzer’s gray 2P connector into the vehicle harness' gray 2P connector.

Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.

4.
Secure the Piezo Buzzer to the vehicle’s harness with one large strip of foam tape, then secure the Piezo Buzzer to the vehicle’s harness with one large wire tie. (Fig. B3) i.
Do not cover the opening of the Buzzer with the foam tape.
5.
Bundle the extra length of the Piezo Buzzer’s harness to the vehicle’s harness with one large wire tie. (Fig. B4)
C.
V3 Harness Installation
1.
Locate and disconnect the white 12P connector from the driver’s side cowl area. (Fig. C1) i.
Do not pull on the wires; pull on the connector.
2.
Plug in the V3 harness’ white 12P connector into the vehicle’s white 12P connector and the driver’s side connector block. (Fig. C2) i.
Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.
3.
Wrap the white 12P connectors with one large strip of foam tape. (Fig. C3)
D.
ECU Preparation and Installation
1.
Turn the adjustment screw on the V3 ECU to the “5” position. (Fig. D1)
2.
Plug in the V3 harness’ ECU connectors to the
V3 ECU. (Fig. D2) i.
Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.

3.
Using 3M Prep Solvent -70, clean the area indicated on the driver side cowl area. (Fig. D3)
4.
Remove the backing sheet, and attach the butyl tape near the driver’s side cowl area as shown.
(Fig D3) i.
Do not touch the adhesive surface of the butyl tape.
5.
Remove the backing sheet, and attach the V3
ECU as shown. (Fig. D4) i.
Do not touch the adhesive surface of the butyl tape.
ii.
Press the V3 ECU to the driver side cowl area firmly.
6.
Secure the V3 ECU to the driver’s side cowl area with one extra large wire tie as shown.
(Fig. D5) i.
Clip the wire tie.
7.
Attach two large foam tapes to the surface of the V3 ECU. (Fig. D6)
E.
V3 Harness Installation (Continued)
1.
Place the white 12P connector into the hole of driver’s side connector block area. (Fig. E1)
3.
Plug in the V3 harness’ white 6P connector into the vehicle’s 6P connector. (Fig. E2) i.
Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.
4.
Wrap the white 6P connector with one small strip of foam tape. (Fig. E3)

5.
Route the V3 harness up toward the Instrument
Panel J/B, then secure it to the vehicle’s harness with two medium wire ties. (Fig E4)
6.
Locate and disconnect the white 22P connector from the Instrument Panel J/B. (Fig. E5) i.
Do not pull on the wires; pull on the connector.
7.
Plug in the V3 harness’ white 22P connector between the vehicle harness’ white 22P connector and the Instrument Panel J/B.
(Fig. E6) i.
Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.
8.
Secure the V3 harness to the Instrument Panel
J/B with one large wire tie. (Fig. E7)
9.
Attach the 22P connectors and the V3 harness to the Instrument Panel J/B with one small strip of foam tape. (Fig. E8)
10. Locate and disconnect the white 9P connector from the back side of Instrument Panel J/B.
(Fig. E9) i.
Do not pull on the wires; pull on the connector.
11. Plug in the V3 harness’ white 9P connector between the vehicle harness’ white 9P connector from the back side of the Instrument
Panel J/B. (Fig. E10) i.
Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.
12. Route the V3 harness up toward the Instrument
Panel J/B area, then secure the white 9P connector to the vehicle harness with one large wire tie. (Fig. E11)

13. Route the V3 harness behind the heater duct, to the Instrument Panel J/B and steering column area, then secure it to the vehicle harness with one medium wire tie. (Fig. E12)
14. Locate and disconnect the gray 3P connector from near the back side of the Instrument Panel
J/B. (Fig. E13) i.
Do not pull on the wires; pull on the connector.
15. Plug in the V3 harness’ gray 3P connectors into the vehicle’s gray 3P connectors. (Fig. E14) i.
Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.
16. Locate and disconnect the white 8P connector from the ignition switch. (Fig. E15) i.
Do not pull on the wires; pull on the connector.
17. Plug in the V3 harness’ white 8P connector between the vehicle harness’ white 8P connector and ignition switch. (Fig. E16) i.
Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.
18. Secure the V3 harness to the vehicle harness with one medium wire tie. (Fig. E17)
20. Secure the V3 harness fuse and V3 harness to the vehicle harness with one medium wire tie.

21. Route the V3 harness toward the center console area, then secure it to the vehicle harness with one medium wire tie. (Fig. E19)

F.
Status Monitor Installation
1.
Remove and discard the knockout cover from the bracket cover. (Fig. F1) i.
Do not scratch the cover.
ii.
Do not bend the cover.
2.
Install Status Monitor to the bracket cover.
(Fig. F1) i.
Do not scratch the cover.
3.
Plug in the V3 harness’ white 4P connector to the Status Monitor’s white 4P connector.
(Fig. F2) i.
Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.
4.
Wrap the white 4P connectors with one small strip of foam tape. (Fig. F2)
G. Warning Label Installation
1.
Clean the inside surface of the front door windows. (Fig. G1)
2.
Place the warning label on the inside surface of the front door windows as shown. (Fig. G1) i.
Use a piece of clear adhesive tape to lift the labels off of their protective backing sheet.
ii.
Do not touch the adhesive surface of the warning labels.

H. Completing the Installation
1.
Complete the reassembly of the vehicle.
i.
Reconnect any disconnected connectors.
ii.
Verify the panels fit together properly with no uneven gaps between them.
3.
Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable.
(Fig. H1) i.
Position the negative battery terminal at an angle of 45˚ to the battery as shown.
3. ii. Tighten the nut with 3 ft•lbs of torque.
iii. Be careful to not touch the positive battery terminal.
4.
Leave the owner’s manual, warranty card, and remote controls in their protective bags and place in the glove box.
