FUNCTION KEYS
KEYS AND LAMPS
On the Inaset 240G, the “feature” button is in the
display. Push the “home” button until you see it on
the display.

Answer
When the LED on this key is lit, press it to answer a
waiting call (phones with call waiting only).
CNF /
CONF
Conference
Press this key to establish a three-way conversation.
LED on key is lit when key is active.
FNC /
FEATURE
Function
This key is used to activate terminal setup functions
and to program One-Touch Speed Dial/Feature Keys.
HOLD
Hold
Press this key to place a call on hold. Pressing it twice
places a call on exclusive hold.
LNR/SPD /
REDIAL
Last Number Redial/
Speed Dial
Press this key to activate the Last Number Redial and
Speed Calling features.
RECALL
Recall
Press this key to terminate your current call and get a
new dial tone.
SPKR /
SPEAKER
Speaker
Controls the built-in speaker, which can be used for
hands-free dialing/monitoring. LED on key lights when
key is active.
TRF /
TRANSFER
Transfer
Pressing this key allows you to transfer calls to another
phone.

Adjust Up/Down
Used to adjust the contrast of the LCD screen,
speaker/receiver volume or ringer volume.
To turn the microphone on or off:
 Press FNC/FEATURE and 1. The MIC light shows the
status of the built-in microphone.
Initial Receiving Volume
To adjust the handset receiver volume:
 Press FNC/FEATURE and 2 to alternate between high
and low volume.
Ringer Tone
You can choose one of four different ringer tones:
 Press FNC/FEATURE and 3 to change the ringer tone.
Transmission/Receiving Volume
To permanently change the handset volume:
 Press FNC/FEATURE and 4 to alternate between high
and low volume.
LAMPS
Hands-Free Operation (Speaker Phone)
LAMP
DESCRIPTION
Call Indicator
This lamp, at the top of the phone, flashes to indicate an incoming
call. This lamp lights steadily to indicate a waiting message.
LCD
The Liquid Crystal Diode (LCD) display provides telephone activity
information as well as the date and time (not on all phones).
LED
Some of the function keys on the phone have a built-in Light Emitting
Diode (LED) that lights or flashes according to the activity of the
function key.
MIC (Microphone)
This lamp displays the status of the built-in microphone used for
hands-free operations.

To set the hands-free option:
 Press FNC/FEATURE and 5 to turn hands-free on.
 Press FNC/FEATURE and 6 to turn hands-free off.
Call Indicator Lamp
To turn the call indicator lamp on or off:
 Press FNC/FEATURE and 7 to turn the lamp on or off.
Note:
the call indicator lamp will still light to indicate a waiting
message.

If Held Call Is Unanswered
 Once a call has been on hold for approximately two minutes,
Automatic Recall is initiated.
 Visual and audible signals (rapid flash and ringing) are sent to the
phone that placed the call on hold.
PLACING AN OUTSIDE CALL




Lift the handset or press SPKR/SPEAKER and listen for a dial tone.
Dial 9 (you will not hear a dial tone).
Dial the telephone number you wish to call.
Use the handset or MIC to converse.
TRANSFERRING A CALL TO ANOTHER PHONE
PLACING AN INTERNAL CALL
 After conversing, ask the other party to wait.
 Press TRF/TRANSFER and receive an interrupted dial tone.
 Dial the extension of the phone you want the call transferred to
and wait for an answer or hang up.
 Lift the handset or press SPKR/SPEAKER and listen for a dial tone.
 Dial the extension of the person you wish to call.
 Use the handset or MIC to converse.
Note:
PLACING A CALL USING SPEED CALLING
PLACING A CONFERENCE CALL
 Lift the handset or press SPKR/SPEAKER and listen for a dial tone.
 Press the desired Speed Call button.




With a call in progress, ask the other party to wait.
Press TRF/TRANSFER and receive an interrupted dial tone.
Dial the desired extension or external phone number.
After call is answered, press CNF/CONF. The CNF/CONF LED
lights up.
 Three-way conference call is established.
 If one party hangs up, the other two remain connected.
Programming A Speed Call Button
 Press the FNC/FEATURE button.
 Press the desired Speed Call button.
 Enter the desired telephone number or feature code on the keypad.
 Press FNC/FEATURE again to save the number.
Note 1: To program a hook switch for transfer or feature activation, press the
RECALL key as the first digit.
Note 2: To program a pause, press the RECALL key as any digit other than the
first digit.
FORWARDING CALLS
Forwarding All Calls
 Lift handset or press SPKR/SPEAKER and receive dial tone.
 Press 18510 to set or #1 to cancel.
 Hang up.
Forwarding Busy Calls
 Lift handset or press SPKR/SPEAKER and receive dial tone.
 Press 28510 to set or #2 to cancel.
 Hang up.
Forwarding No Answer Calls
 Lift handset or press SPKR/SPEAKER and receive dial tone.
 Press 38510 to set or #3 to cancel.
 Hang up.
PLACING A CALL ON HOLD
 Press HOLD while on a call and hang up. The held line will flash.
Note:
pressing HOLD twice places the call on exclusive hold. A call on
exclusive can only be retrieved from the phone that placed the call on
hold.
Retrieving A Call On Hold
 Lift the handset or press the SPKR/SPEAKER key.
 Press the held line. Use the handset to converse.
Note:
If the phone you are transferring the call to is busy, when you hang up
the call will ring back to your phone.
Any phone with this line can retrieve the call unless it has been placed
on exclusive hold.
