Flatirons Food Film Festival brings free films to the Slow Food Nations Film Café
at Urban Farmer
Boulder, Colo. (June 30, 2017) – Fall 2017 marks the fifth anniversary of the Flatirons Food Film Festival, a
festival that has been wowing foodies, film lovers, and the intersection of both, since 2012. Festival Director
Julia Joun has planned several events and special programs this summer across Colorado to celebrate, as well
as the biggest Festival yet, September 27-October 1.
Flatirons Food Film Festival at Slow Food Nations
The Flatirons Food Film Festival is proud to announce that it will screen its best short films from the upcoming
and previous four festivals at the Slow Food Nations Film Café at Urban Farmer, a restaurant opening in
Denver in August. Slow Food Nations participants can stop by to relax, enjoy cool air, watch some films, and
enjoy a beverage or snack.
All ten films from the “A Summer in Colorado” series that James Beard Award-winning filmmakers The
Perennial Plate filmed last summer will be shown, to give visitors a taste of Colorado. The Festival will also
screen the series at this year’s festival, coupled with different feature films. Other Film Café films focus on
locations around the globe; and cover diverse subjects, such as fermented food, bee-keeping, and agriculture;
and are live action and animated.
The Film Cafe will be open July 15-16 from 10am-4pm. Urban Farmer is located in the former McCormick
and Schmick’s space at 17th and Wazee (1600 17th Street). Entrance to the Film Café is free of charge.
