Frequently asked questions

The RainBank MKII senses when there is a demand for water from your toilet, washing machine or garden tap. If there is rainwater in the tank RainBank MKII switches on the pump and delivers the rainwater. When there is no longer a demand for water, RainBank MKII switches off the pump. If RainBank MKII senses a water demand and detects insufficient water in the rainwater tank it will automatically allow the mains water to flow.

RainBank MKII is totally hands off for your customer and needs no maintenance or adjustment. RainBank MKII is easy to install. RainBank MKII does not require mains water to be re-pressurised and therefore saves energy. RainBank MKII is WaterMark approved – this means plumbing inspections will be approved & your plumbers insurance should cover installation faults. RainBank MKII will provide mains water as backup when: there is no rainwater, there is no electricity to run pump, the pump has been removed for servicing. Air-gap systems rely on pumps to pressurise all water and do not function without them.

RainBank MKII does not need maintenance, but you can ensure its reliable operation by cleaning your gutters and first flush devices, removing branches that over hang your roof, fitting a strainer to your rainwater tank inlet and regularly checking it for debris, and checking for debris in the bottom of your tank a few times a year.
