Frequently Answers and Questions

What types of batteries does the D1000X use?

The detector uses 5 AA cells. Alkaline batteries or rechargeable NiMH cells are recommended.

How do I format and prepare a CF card for use with the D1000X?

You can format and prepare a CF card either using the D1000X Utility program or directly in the detector.

What are the different recording modes available on the D1000X?

The recording mode can be either manual (MAN) or automatic (AUTO). In the manual mode, the user starts (and in some sub-modes also stops) the recordings by pressing the desired recording key. In the automatic mode, the detector "listens" for signals and starts a recording only in the presence of a signal that meets certain triggering criteria.

What is the difference between the heterodyne and frequency division systems?

The heterodyne system allows you to select a limited frequency range for conversion into the audible range. The frequency division system changes the frequency of the ultrasound with a constant factor of 10.

How do I set the clock on the D1000X?

To set the clock, turn off the detector. Press the ON/OFF button for at least 1.5 seconds. The text "D1000X Release Key" will appear. Release the ON/OFF key and the text changes to "D1000X Booting". While this text is shown, press and hold the PLAY button until the text "SET CLOCK" appears. Enter the time and date using the UP/DOWN ARROW and ENTER keys. The format for the date is YYMMDD and for the time HHMM.
