Ensure that all guards are in proper position, open the fuel tap, set the speed control lever to "START" or 1/3 position depending on engine temperature, engage the wheel drive, and pull the starting rope on the handle until you feel the starter clutch engage. Then pull hard and fast to start the engine.

Set the speed control lever to idling position and let the engine run with idling speed for approximately 1/2 minute. Then move the speed control lever completely to the STOP position and close the fuel tap.

Turn the crank to adjust the wheel height, reducing the sweeping height only if absolutely necessary to ensure clean sweeping and long service life of the brushes.

For the compact version, change the V-belt to the right pulley and re-route it around the idler pulleys. For the comfort version, turn the dial in counter-clockwise direction for a slow speed and clockwise direction for a fast speed.

Slide the snow dozer blade tubes onto the coupling pins from the top front and operate the rod to pivot the blade.
