The tumble dryer is not to be used if industrial chemicals have been used for cleaning.

The lint trap has to be cleaned frequently, if applicable.

Lint must not to be allowed to accumulate around the tumble dryer (not applicable for appliances intended to be vented to the exterior of the building).

Adequate ventilation has to be provided to avoid the back flow of gases into the room from appliances burning other fuels, including open fires.

Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer.

Items that have been soiled with substances such as cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot removers, turpentine, waxes and wax removers should be washed in hot water with an extra amount of detergent before being dried in the tumble dryer.

Items such as foam rubber (latex foam), shower caps, waterproof textiles, rubber backed articles and clothes or pillows fitted with foam rubber pads should not be dried in the tumble dryer.

Fabric softeners, or similar products, should be used as specified by the fabric softener instructions.

The final part of a tumble dryer cycle occurs without heat (cool down cycle) to ensure that the items are left at a temperature that ensures that the items will not be damaged.

Remove all objects from pockets such as lighters and matches.

Exhaust air must not be discharged into a flue which is used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.

For appliances with ventilation openings in the base, that a carpet must not obstruct the openings.

The appliance must not be installed behind a lockable door, a sliding door or a door with a hinge on the opposite side to that of the tumble dryer, in such a way that a full opening of the tumble dryer door is restricted.

To minimize the risk of fi re in a tumble dryer, the following should be observed:

Items that have been spotted or soaked with vegetable or cooking oil constitute a fire hazard and should not be placed in a tumble dryer. Oil-affected items can ignite spontaneously, especially when exposed to heat sources such as in a tumble dryer. The items become warm, causing an oxidation reaction in the oil. Oxidation creates heat. If the heat cannot escape, the items can become hot enough to catch fire. Piling, stacking or storing oil-affected items can prevent heat from escaping and so create a fire hazard. If it is unavoidable that fabrics that contain vegetable or cooking oil or have been contaminated by hair care products be placed in a tumble dryer they should first be washed in hot water with extra detergent – this will reduce, but not eliminate, the hazard. The ‘cool down’ cycle of tumble dryers should be used to reduce the temperature of the items. They should not be removed from the tumble dryer or piled or stacked while hot.

Items that have been previously cleaned in, washed in, soaked in or spotted with petrol/gasoline, dry-cleaning solvents or other flammable or explosive substances should not be placed in a tumble dryer. Highly flammable substances commonly used in domestic environments include acetone, denatured alcohol, petrol/gasoline, kerosene, spot removers(some brands), turpentine, waxes and wax removers.

Items containing foam rubber(also known as latex foam) or similarly textured rubber. Like materials should not be dried in a tumble dryer on a heat setting. Foam rubber materials can, when heated, produce fire by spontaneous combustion.

Fabric softeners or similar products should not be used in a tumble dryer to eliminate the effects of static electricity unless this practice is specifi cally recommended by the manufacturer of the fabric softener or product.

Undergarments that contain metal reinforcements should not be placed in a tumble dryer.

Damage to the tumble dryer can result if metal reinforcements come loose during drying. When available a drying rack could be used for such items.

Plastic articles such as shower caps or babies’ waterproof napkin covers should not be placed in a tumble dryer.

Rubber-backed articles, clothes fitted with foam rubber pads, pillows, galoshes and rubbercoated tennis shoes should not be placed in a tumble dryer.

Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer(or washing machine drying mode,etc).

When the washer is contaminated by a foreign substance such as detergent, dirt, food waste, etc., unplug the power plug and clean the washer using a damp and soft cloth.

- Failure to do so may result in discoloration, deformation, damage or rust.

The front glass may be broken by a strong impact. Take care when using the washer.

- When the glass is broken, it may result in injury.

After a water supply failure or when reconnecting the water supply hose, open the faucet slowly.

Open the faucet slowly after a long period of non-use.

- The air pressure in the water supply hose or the water pipe may result in damage to a part or in water leakage.

If a drain error occurs during an operation, check if there is a draining problem.

- If the washer is used when it is flooded because of a draining problem, it may result in electric shock or fire due to electric leakage.

Insert the laundry into the washer completely so that laundry does not get caught in the door.

- If laundry gets caught in the door, it may result in damage to the laundry or the washer, or result in water leakage.

Ensure that the faucet is turned off when the washer is not being used.

- Ensure that the screw on the water supply hose connector is properly tightened.

- Failure to do so may result in property damage or injury.

Check if the rubber seal is not contaminated by foreign substances (waste, thread, etc).

- If the door is not closed completely, it may result in water leakage.

Open the faucet and check if the water supply hose connector is firmly tightened and that there is no water leaking before using the product.

- If the screws or the water supply hose connector are loose, it may result in water leakage.

To reduce the risk of fire or explosion:

- Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a hot water system such as your hot water heater that has not been used for two weeks or more. HYDROGEN

GAS IS EXPLOSIVE. If your hot water system has not been used for two weeks or more, turn on all hot water taps in your home, and let the water flow for several minutes before using your washing machine. This will release any hydrogen gas build–up. Since hydrogen gas is flammable, do not smoke or light an open flame during this time.

Ventilate immediately without touching the power plug if there is a gas leak.

The product you have purchased is designed for domestic use only.

The use for business purposes qualifies as product misuse.

In this case, the product will not be covered by the standard warranty provided by

Samsung and no responsibility can be attributed to Samsung for malfunctions or damages resulting from such misuse.

- If rust starts appearing on the surface of the tub, apply a cleansing agent (neutral) to the surface and use a sponge to clean it. Never use a metal brush.

Do not use dry cleaning detergent directly and do not wash, rinse, or spin laundry contaminated by dry cleaning detergent.

- This may result in spontaneous combustion or ignition due to the heat of the oxidation of the oil.

Do not use hot water from water cooling/heating devices.

- This may result in problems with the washer.

For washing machines with ventilation openings in the base, ensure that the opening is not obstructed by carpet or any other obstacles.

Make sure that the pockets of all clothing to be washed are empty.

- Hard, sharp objects, such as coins, safety pins, nails, screws, or stones can cause extensive damage to the appliance.

Do not wash clothing with large buckles, buttons, or other heavy metal.

That the tumble dryer is not to be used if industrial chemicals have been used for cleaning.

Remove all objects from pockets such as lighters and matches.

Be sure to have your installer follow these instructions closely so that your new washing machine works properly and so that you’re not at risk of injury when doing laundry.

mEETING INSTAllATION REqUIREmENTS

Electrical supply and grounding

To prevent unnecessary risk of fire, electrical shock, or personal injury, all wiring and grounding must be done in accordance with the National Electrical Code ANSI/FNPA, No. 70 Latest

Revision and local codes and ordinances. It is the personal responsibility of the appliance owner to provide adequate electrical service for this appliance.

WARNING

Never use an extension cord.

Use only the power cord that comes with your washing machine.

When preparing for installation, ensure that your power supply offers:

220V~240V 50Hz fuse or circuit breaker

Individual branch circuit serving only your washing machine

Your washing machine must be grounded. If your washing machine malfunctions or breaks down, grounding will reduce the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for the electric current.

Your washing machine comes with a power cord having a three-prong grounding plug for use in a properly installed and grounded outlet.

Never connect the ground wire to plastic plumbing lines, gas lines, or hot water pipes.

Improperly connecting the equipment-grounding conductor can result electrical shock.

Check with a qualified electrician or serviceman if you are unsure if the washing machine is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the washing machine. If it does not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

Water Supply

Your washing machine will fill properly when your water pressure is 50 kPa ~ 800 kPa. Water pressure less than 50 kPa may cause water valve failure, not allowing the water valve to shut off completely. Or, it may take the washing machine longer to fill than what the controls allow, resulting in your washing machine turning off. (A fill-time limit, designed to prevent overflows/ flooding if an internal hose becomes loose, is built into the controls.)

The water taps must be within 4 feet (122cm) of the back of your washing machine for the provided inlet hoses provided to reach your washing machine.

Most plumbing supply stores sell inlet hoses of various lengths up to 10 feet (305cm) long.

You can reduce the risk of leaks and water damage by:

• Making water taps easily accessible.

• Turning off taps when the washing machine is not in use.

• Periodically checking for leaks at water inlet hose fittings.

Drain

Samsung recommends a standpipe height of 65 cm. The drain hose must be routed through the drain hose clip to the standpipe. The standpipe must be large enough to accept the outside diameter of the drain hose. The drain hose is attached at the factory.

Flooring

For best performance, your washing machine must be installed on a solidly constructed floor.

Wood floors may need to be reinforced to minimize vibration and/or unbalanced loads. Carpeting and soft tile surfaces are contributing factors to vibrations and the tendency for your washing machine to move slightly during the spin cycle.

Never install your washing machine on a platform or poorly supported structure.

Surrounding temperature

Do not install your washing machine in areas where water may freeze, since your washing machine always retains some water in its water valve, pump, and hose areas. Frozen water in the lines can cause damage to belts, the pump, and other components.

Alcove or closet installation

To operate safely and properly, your new washing machine requires minimum clearances of:

Sides – 1 in / 25 mm

Top – 17in / 432 mm

Rear – 8in / 200 mm

Front – 2in / 51 mm

If both the washing machine and a dryer are installed together, the front of the alcove or closet must have at least 51 mm unobstructed air opening. Your washing machine alone does not require a specific air opening.

Selecting a location

Before you install the washing machine, make sure the location:

• Has a hard, level surface without carpeting or flooring that may obstruct ventilation

• Is away from direct sunlight

• Has adequate ventilation

• Will not be freezing (below 32 ˚F or 0 ˚C)

• Is away from heat sources such as oil or gas

• Has enough space so that the washing machine doesn’t stand on its power cord

Removing the shipping bolts

Before installing the washing machine, you must remove the five shipping bolts from the back of the unit.

1. Loosen all the bolts with the supplied wrench.

Insert the cap fixer, (one of the accessories in the vinyl pack), into the hole from which you removed the power cord at the back of the product.

Adjusting the levelling feet

When installing your washing machine, ensure that the power plug, the water supply and the drain are easily accessible.

1. Slide the washing machine into position.

2. Level your washing machine by turning the leveling feet in and out as necessary by hand.

3. When your washing machine is level, tighten the nuts using the wrench supplied with your washing machine.

Connecting the water and drain

Connecting the water supply hose

1. Take the L-shaped arm fitting for the cold water supply hose and connect it to the cold water supply intake on the back of the machine. Tighten by hand.

The water supply hose must be connected to the washing machine at one end and to the water tap at the other. Do not stretch the water supply hose.

If the hose is too short, replace the hose with a longer, high pressure hose.

2. Connect the other end of the cold water supply hose to your sink’s cold water tap and tighten it by hand.

If necessary, you can reposition the water supply hose at the washing machine end by loosening the fitting, rotating the hose, and retightening the fitting.

Option

For selected models with an additional hot water intake:

1. Take the red L-shaped arm fitting for the hot water supply hose and connect it to the hot water supply intake on the back of the machine. Tighten by hand.

2. Connect the other end of the hot water supply hose to your sink’s hot water tap and tighten it by hand.

3. Use a Y-piece if you only want to use cold water.

1. Remove the adaptor from the water supply hose.

2. First, using a ‘+’ type screwdriver, loosen the four screws on the adaptor. Next, take the adaptor and turn part (2) following the arrow until there is a 5 mm gap.

3. Connect the adaptor to the water tap by tightening the screws firmly while lifting the adaptor upwards.

Turn part (2) following the arrow and connect (1) and (2).

4. Connect the water supply hose to the adaptor.

When you release part (3), the hose automatically connects to the adaptor making a ‘click’ sound.

After you have connected the water supply hose to the adaptor, ensure that it is connected correctly by pulling the water supply hose downwards.

5. Connect the other end of the water supply hose to the inlet water valve at the rear of the washing machine. Screw the hose clockwise all the way in.

6. Turn on the water supply and ensure that no water leaks from the water valve, tap or adaptor. If there is a water leaks, repeat the previous steps.

WARNING

Do not use your washing machine if there is a water leak.

This may cause electric shock or injury.

If the water tap has a screw type tap, connect the water supply hose to the tap as shown.

Use the most conventional type of tap for the water supply. In case the tap is square or too big, remove the spacing ring before inserting the tap into the adaptor.

Connecting the drain hose

The end of the drain hose can be positioned in three ways:

Precautions when connecting the drain hose

Improperly connecting the drain hose may cause drainage problems. This may result in degraded drying performance.

Read all instructions below and follow them explicitly before connecting the drain hose.

Do not twist, fold, or bend the drain hose excessively.

Always make sure that the drain hose is straight and lies firmly on the floor.

If using an extension hose, make sure that it is firmly connected.

Make sure to provide a direct, unobstructed path for the drain hose to be as straight possible.

Avoid running the drain hose through high door sills, around corners, etc.

Do not put heavy objects on the drain hose.

sTep 5 powering your washing machine

Plug the power cord into a wall sockets, an AC 220-240 V / 50 Hz approved electrical outlet protected by a fuse or circuit breaker. (For more information on the electrical and grounding requirements, refer to the “Electrical supply and grounding” section on page 15.

Test run

Make sure that you install your washing machine correctly by running the rinse+spin cycle after the installation is complete.

Running Calibration mode

Your Samsung washing machine detects the weight of the laundry automatically. For a more accurate weight detection, it is recommended running Calibration Mode immediately after installing the washing machine. Follow the steps below to run Calibration Mode.

Before running Calibration Mode, make sure that there is nothing in the drum or on top of the washing machine.

1. Press the power button to turn the power on.

2. Enter in settings, then choose the Calibration Mode.

3. Press the start button to start Calibration Mode.

4. The drum rotates clockwise and counterclockwise approximately for 3 minutes.

5. When Calibration Mode is complete, “cycle complete” appears on the display and the washing machine will turn off automatically.

6. The washing machine is now ready for use.

With your new Samsung washing machine, the hardest part of doing laundry will be deciding which load to wash first.

WASHING FOR THE FIRST TImE

Before washing laundry for the first time, you must run a complete empty cycle (i.e. no laundry).

1. Press the power button.

2. Add a little detergent to the detergent compartment in the detergent drawer.

3. Turn on the water supply to the washing machine.

4. Press the start/pause button.

This will remove any water that might be left over in the machine from the manufacturer’s test run.

Compartment : Hand detergent compartment (Fabric softener can only be added by the Auto

Softener function.).

Compartment : Auto Detergent compartment (Only Liquid Detergent : Detergent for the wash, water softener, presoaking agent, bleach and stain removal product.

(fill no higher than the MAX line.))

• Press the Auto Detergent and Auto Softener buttons to determine whether to use the Auto Detergent and Auto Softener functions respectively.

• To not use the Auto Detergent function, add detergent into the hand detergent compartment according to the amount of laundry and close the detergent drawer.

• Fabric softener can only be added by the Auto Softener function. If you are not using Auto Softener function,there is no separate compartment for adding the softener.

USING THE DETERGENT DRAWER

There are multiple compartments in the detergent box. What shall be dispensed in different compartments?

1. When automatic dispense function is used, put liquid detergent and softener in the right side of detergent box.

If too much detergent is added, detergent will spill out and mix with each other, therefore fill no higher than the [-MAX-] line.

If dispense in manual mode, add amount required for only once washing on the left side of detergent box.

2. After finish dispensing, close the cover and press tightly to ensure no gap is left.

During the course of washing, if the detergent box is opened, water will go inside detergent box, so please don’t open it.

3. Press the [Start] button to start your course, confirm if the following [Indication] message is display on the LCD screen.

• The detergent in the detergent box is not enough when automatic dispense function is used:

The amount of detergent is not enough for washing twice when auto dispense is used.

Please supplement detergent.

• When detergent box is not closed completely:

Error message will display or the alert tone of “Ding-dong Ding-dong” will sound, close the cover again and press tightly.

When shall I need to use manual mode to dispense detergent?

• When using powder or gel detergent:

Auto dispense function only applies to liquid detergent, so manual dispense mode is required.

• When using [Wool/ Lingerie] or [Sports Bubble] course:

If these function are selected, auto dispense function will be dismissed automatically.

And special detergent can be added.

• Check pockets or other foreign materials thoroughly before washing clothes.

The debris filter will filter foreign materials,such as hair, iron wires, toothpicks, coins,loose buttons, pins, elastic, diapers. Make sure the debris filter is not blocked. These objects could damage your washer.

• Make sure that laundry is not caught in the door.

If laundry gets caught in the door, it may result in damage to the laundry or the washer,or result in water leakage.

Setting up your washer for the first time

You will set your preferences for the fist time. Each option can be reset later in the Setting screen.

[Step 1.]

Turn the washing machine on, start to set the date and time.

After setting the Date and Time, press the Next button.Hand detergent compartment

The Auto Detergent / Auto Softener screen appears.

The default options is Amount: Std, Density: Normal.

You can change the Amount and Density, then press the Next button.

1. If the function of Automatic Fabric Softener is not used, there will be no place to store fabric softener.

2. Use liquid detergent only. Do not use powdered detergent or gel, otherwise it will damage the automatic dispenser.

3. The automatic detergent function is deactivate automatically in Wool/Lingerie and Active wear cycle even if you have set the Automatic Detergent ON. You can set the Auto Detergent /Softener options of cycles in the

Settings screen.

4. You have to set the Auto Detergent / Softener in the

Settings screen before using the function.

5. Take out the detergent compartment before cleaning the compartment. You should clean the detergent compartment when changing the detergent.

6. After set the Auto Detergent / Softener, you can add detergent manually into compartment from feeding inlet.

Method of Setting

2. You can set options in Auto Detergent / Auto Softener screen.

You can select the available options of detergent amount: Less, Std, Extra. The detergent are dispensed automatically according to the setting of detergent amount and cycle.

Density Normal option if using regular detergent.

If using high-concentration detergent, The detergent is dispensed automatically according to the concentration.

Cleaning the dispensers

1. Pull the liquid detergent compartment out by pressing the (1) .

2. Hold the (2) of liquid detergent compartment, push the cover upward to check the inside of the detergent compartment.

3. Clean the compartment, and push the liquid detergent compartment back into place.(see page 43)

• The automatic detergent dispenser will automatically add appropriate detergent to compartment. it is very convenient.

• If the function of Automatic Fabric Softener is not used, there will be no place to store fabric softener. You should pour the fabric softener directly into the detergent compartment in the rinse cycle.

• Do not use powdered detergent and solidified liquid detergent. as the detergent may remain in the rinse cycle. Otherwise it will damage the automatic dispenser.

• Check if the liquid detergent is automatically added into the compartment before using. Otherwise, the washing machine will operate with repeated or empty detergent.

• The automatic dispenser may need to be cleaned periodically.

• If the detergent compartment is not firmly closed, it will alert you to check the detergent compartment. You should check if the compartment is firmly closed before washing.

The Rinse+Spin cycle is for loads that need rinsing only or when you need to add fabric softener to a load.

Pressing the button cycles through the following options.

Cupboard - Select to dry laundry automatically by detecting the amount and weight of the laundry. Select this to dry cotton clothing such as cotton trousers,

T-shirts, and cotton underwear.

Extra Dry - Select this function to dry heavy clothing (e.g. blue jeans).

Shirt - Select this function to quickly dry one piece of clothing such as a shirt.

Delicates - Select this function to dry clothing that can be deformed at high temperature (e.g. e.g. clothes made from mixed fabrics or synthetic fibers such as polyester and nylon) at a relatively low temperature.

Time Dry - Dry the laundry for the specified period of time.

Drum Clean

Drying Drum

The Drum Clean cleans dirt and bacteria from the drum. Regular use (after every

40 washes) is recommended. No detergent or bleach is needed.

This course dries and cleans the inside of the drum after a wash using hot air.

USING DRY COURSE

Refer to the label of drying capacity and be sure to put in the clothes to the lower level than the marked line for the dried clothes of 8.0 kg.

1. Open the door, put in the clothes and close the door again.

2. Press the power button and then press the drying button.

: The standard course will be selected automatically.

Drying is not available for Drum Clean, Air Wash, Active Wear, Bedding and Wool/Lingerie courses.

1. Remove laundry or any contents in the machine and turn off the machine.

2. The drum rotates clockwise and counterclockwise approximately for 3 minutes.

3. When “Calibration Mode” is finished, the door will unlock. The washing machine is now ready for use.

Allows you to activate your custom wash (temperature, spin, soil level, etc.) with one button convenience.

By pushing the my cycle button, press the My Cycle button to load and use the saved My

Cycle options. The “My Cycle” light will indicate activation. Also, the chosen course and option lights will flicker.

You can set all options as follows in the My Cycle mode.

1. Turn the water supply on.

2. Press the power button.

3. Press the List ( ) to select the my cycle course.

• The saved courses will show in the My Cycle screen.

• You can save up to 4 My Cycles.

• You can press the Edit button to change the course name.

• You can press the Delete button to delete the course.

5. Select the appropriate cycle.

• Set other options.

6. Press the Start or Start/Pause button on the LCD panel.

• Press the button to start your wash.

• The estimated finish time appears on the LCD.

Delay End

By activating the Delay Start function, you can set your washer to start your wash or dry automaticallyat a specified later time. The display indicates the time at which the wash will be finished. However, the actual time may differ from the displayed time.

1. Press the power button.

• Select desired cycle.

2. Press the delay end button.

• The cycle can be delayed for up to 19 hours in 10 minutes increments.

• The minimum time may differ depending on the cycles.

It may exceed actual delay time. The Spin will be delayed when the loads are unbalanced.

3. Press the delay end button.

• The display indicates the time when the wash cycle will be finished. You can set the delay time.

• Press the Start button to start your course.

• You can add laundry items to or remove laundry items from the wash by pressing the

Adding items button.

• Press the Start/Pause button after adding items. The Delay End function is reactivated.

Washing clothes manually

You can wash clothes manually without using the Cycle Selector.

1. Turn the water supply on.

2. Press the power button on the washing machine.

3. Open the door.

4. Load the articles loosely into the drum one at a time, without overfilling it.

5. Close the door.

6. Press the Temp. button to select the temperature. (Cold, 30 ˚C, 40 ˚C, 60 ˚C, 95 ˚C)

7. Press the rinse button to select the required number of rinse cycles.

The maximum number of rinse cycles is five.

The wash duration is increased accordingly.

8. Press the spin button to select the spin speed.

The rinse hold function allows you to remove items that are still wet from the washing machine. ( : No Spin, : Rinse Hold)

9. Press the delay end button repeatedly to cycle through the available Delay End options

10. Press the start/pause button and the machine will begin the cycle.

lAUNDRY GUIDElINES

Follow these simple guidelines for the cleanest laundry and the most efficient wash.

Always check the Care label on clothing before washing.

Sort and wash your laundry according to the following criteria:

Care Label: Sort laundry into cotton, mixed fibres, synthetics, silks, wool and rayons.

Colour: Divide whites and colours. Wash new colour items separately.

Size: Placing items of different sizes in the same load will improve the wash action.

Sensitivity: Wash delicate items separately, using the Delicate wash cycle for pure, new woollen items, curtains and silk articles. Check the labels on the items you are washing or refer to the fabric care chart in the appendix.

Emptying pockets

Before each wash, empty all the pockets of your laundry. Small, irregularly shaped hard objects, such as coins, knives, pins, and paperclips could damage your washing machine. Do not wash clothing with large buckles, buttons, or other heavy metal objects.

Metal on clothing may damage your clothing as well as the tub. Turn clothing with buttons and embroidered clothes inside out before washing them. If zips of pants and jackets are open while washing, the spin basket may be damaged. Zips should be closed and fixed with a string before washing.

Clothing with long strings may become entangled with other clothes damaging them. Be sure to fix the strings before starting the wash.

prewashing cotton

Your new washing machine, combined with modern detergents, will give perfect washing results, thus saving energy, time, water and detergent. However, if your cotton is particularly dirty, prewash with a protein-based detergent.

DETERGENT AND ADDITIVES INFORmATION

Which detergent to use

The type of detergent you should use is based on the type of fabric (cotton, synthetics, items,

Hand Wash For Wool), colour, wash temperature, and degree of soiling. Always use “low suds” laundry detergent, which is designed for automatic washing machines.

Follow the detergent manufacturer’s recommendations based on the weight of the laundry, the degree of soiling, and the hardness of the water in your area. If you do not know how hard your water is, enquire at your local water authority.

Do not use detergent that has hardended or solidified as the detergent may remain in the rinse cycle. It may cause your washing machine to not rinse properly or result in the overflow becoming blocked.

Powdered detergent should be thoroughly dissolved in a small amount of warm water before adding to the machine.

please note the following when using the Wool course.

• Use a neutral liquid detergent for wool only.

• When using a powder detergent, it may remain on the laundry and cause damage to the material (wool).

1. Open the door, place the laundry inside the wash tub and close the door.

2. Press the power button.

3. Select a function.

4. Place the appropriate amount of detergent and fabric softener into the corresponding compartments depending on the amount of laundry and close the detergent drawer.

5. Press the start/pause button.

• Press the start/pause button to start the wash.

• The amount of the laundry is automatically detected and the laundry is washed.

• Once a washing machine operation begins, you cannot add or select the bubble function.

• Enough bubbles are generated with the specified amount of detergent.

• Please clean the Debris filter frequently. Periodic cleaning helps generate sufficient bubbles.

• Depending on the detergent and the laundry, the bubbles may be absorbed and seem like a Small Load quantity.

• Although bubbles are generated once the wash begins, it may take several minutes for users to see them.

Detergent drawer

Your washing machine has separate compartments for dispensing detergent and fabric softener.

Add all laundry additives to the correct compartment before starting your washing machine.

Do not open the detergent drawer while your washing machine is running or you might be exposed to hot water or steam.

1. Press the Auto Detergent button to configure the Auto Detergent function.

Pressing the Auto Detergent button changes the mode in the following order: Disable 

Economy  Standard  Enough.

2. Press the Auto Softener button.

Pressing the Auto Softener button changes the mode in the following order: Disable

 Economy Standard Enough.

Hold down the Auto Detergent and Auto Softener buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds or longer to change the density setting for the detergent or softener.

Pressing the Auto Detergent or Auto Softener button changes the concentration setting in the following order: 1 (Normal) 2 (2x Concentration) 3 (3x Concentration) in order.

To return, hold down the Auto Detergent and Auto Softener buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds or longer.

3. When the Auto Detergent and Auto Softener settings are complete, the wash is performed according to the configured settings.

Detergent is automatically added depending on the configured amount and course.

When washing large items do NOT use the following detergetnt types.

• Tablet and capsule type detergents

• Detergents using a ball and net

Concentrated or thick fabric softener, conditioner and liquid detergent must be diluted with a little water before being poured into the dispenser (prevents the overflow from becoming blocked).

• Since the Auto Detergent device automatically adds the right amount of detergent even if you don’t add detergent, anyone can wash laundry easily and it is economical as it adds only the right amount of detergent.

• If you are using the Auto Softener function, there is no separate compartment for adding the softener. Pour softener into the detergent compartment directly when you rinse laundry.

• You cannot use powder or a gel type detergent. This may result in a problem with the

Auto Detergent compartment.

• Before using the washer, check if the Auto Detergent function is enabled. Otherwise, detergent may be added twice or no detergent may be added.

• The Auto Detergent compartment needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. Separate and clean it whenever you refill the detergent.

• When the detergent drawer is not completely closed, the ‘check the detergent drawer’ message appears but a wash will be performed. Please check if the detergent drawer is completely closed before starting a wash.

DETERGENT DRAWER

Turn off the water faucets after finishing the day’s washing.

This will shut off the water supply to your Washer and prevent the unlikely possibility of damage from escaping water. Leave the door open to allow the inside of your Washer to dry out.

Use a soft cloth to wipe up all detergent, bleach or other spills as they occur.Clean the following as recommended:

Control Panel – Clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive powders or cleaning pads. Do not spray cleaners directly on the panel.

Cabinet – Clean with soap and water.

ClEANING THE INTERIOR

Clean the interior of your Washer periodically to remove any dirt, soil, odor, mold, mildew, or bacterial residue that may remain in your Washer as a result of washing clothes.

Failure to follow these instructions may result in unpleasant conditions, including odors and/or permanent stains on your Washer or laundry.

Hard water deposits may be removed, if needed. Use a cleaner labeled “Washer safe”.

ClEANING THE DISpENSERS

The automatic dispenser may need to be cleaned periodically due to laundry additive buildup.

1. Press marking part, pull detergent box forward and it can be easily pulled out of the washing machine .

2. Catch marking part and push up. Do you see the inside? You can clean inside with wet towel.

Be careful not to allow water or detergent to enter the joint part ( ) between backside of detergent box and washing machine, otherwise mechanical malfunction may occur

3. After completion of cleaning, put the slight protruding part in the front of cover into the front channel and fix it. Put down the cover and close it properly.

4. Push the detergent box to the end and close properly to ensure no gap is left.

SETTING THE SmART CONTROl

Connect a wired/wireless router and the washer through a wireless connection, connect to www.samsungsmartappliance.com and register the washer to the Smart Control service.

This product does not contain a wireless router.

Configuring the wired/wireless router

This product supports DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). Therefore, if a user wants to use an existing wired/wireless router, the router’s DHCP server function must be enabled.

Set the channel for the connection with the wired/wireless router to a channel that is not being used.

This washer only supports OPEN, WPA/TKIP and WPA2/AES modes. If the wireless router is set to a mode other than these three modes, the washer may not connect to it. We recommend that you use WPA2/AES for 802.11n.

The quality of the wireless network may be affected by the surrounding environment.

If your Internet service provider has registered and fixed the MAC address (unique identification number of a device) of the user’s PC or modem, you may not be able to connect the washer to the Internet. Please ask your Internet service provider about the procedures to connect a device (e.g. washer) other than a computer to the Internet. If your

Internet service provider requires an ID and password to connect to the Internet, you may not be able to connect the washer to the Internet. In this case, you have to enter the ID and password to connect to the Internet.

You may not be able to connect to the Internet due to a firewall. In this case, ask your

Internet service provider for assistance.If you cannot connect the washer to the Internet even after contacting your Internet service provider, please contact a Samsung Electronics dealer or service center.

Check before installation

For the procedures to install a normal wired/wireless router, refer to the user manual of the corresponding wired/wireless router.

Samsung washers only support Wi-Fi 2.4Ghz.

The Samsung washer supports the wireless communication standard IEEE802.11 b/g/n (2.4 GHz).

A certified wireless router has the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED logo on its packaging or user manual.

STORING YOUR WASHER

Washers can be damaged if water is not removed from hoses and internal components before storage.

Prepare your Washer for storage as follows:

Select the rinse+spin cycle and add bleach to the automatic dispenser. Run your Washer through the cycle without a load.

Turn the water faucets off and disconnect the inlet hoses.

Unplug your Washer from the electrical outlet and leave your Washer door open to let air circulate inside the tumbler.

If your Washer has been stored in below–freezing temperatures, allow time for any leftover water in your

Washer to thaw out before use.

ClEANING THE DEBRIS FIlTER

We recommend cleaning the debris filter when water does not drain well or the “ND” error message is displayed.

1. Open the filter cover by pressing and pulling the handle of the filter cover with your finger.

2. Unscrew the drain cap by turning it counterclockwise.

3. Hold the cap on the end of the drain tube and slowly pull it out about 6 inches (15 cm) and drain off all the water.

ClEANING THE DOOR DIApHRAGm

1. Open the washer door and remove any clothing or items from the washer.

2. Inspect the gray colored seal/bellow between the door opening and the basket for stained areas. Pull back the seal/bellow to inspect all areas under the seal/bellow and to check for foreign objects.

3. If stained areas are found, wipe down these areas of the seal/bellow, using the procedure that follows.

a) Mix a dilute solution, using ¾ cup (177 mL) of liquid chlorine bleach, and 1 gal. (3.8 L) of warm tap water.

b) Wipe the seal/bellow area with the dilute solution, using a damp cloth.

c) Let stand 5 minutes.

d) Wipe down area thoroughly with a dry cloth and let the washer interior air dry with door open.

pRESERVING THE TOp COVER AND THE FRONT FRAmE

Since the entire washing machine has a high-gloss finish, the surface can be scratched or damaged.

• As your washer is filling, the water temperature may change as the automatic temperature control feature checks the incoming water temperature. This is normal.

• While your washer is filling, you may notice just hot or just cold water going through the dispenser when the cold or warm wash temperature is selected. This is a normal function of the automatic temperature control feature as your washer determines the temperature of the water.

Door is locked or will not open.

• Press the Start/Pause Button to stop your washer.

• Your washer door will remain locked during the heating portion of the

Preamble
