This is the description for the system control and monitoring via network.
The remote control (monitoring) is changing the system configuration or the monitoring the image via
network(LAN). Above is the connection diagram which is the necessity.
1. If the user subscribe the internet, the internet company will connect it through the router or, modem.
The dynamic IP is for the modem user and fixed IP is for the router user.
2. Connect the internet to the DVR coming from the modem or router and setup the NETWORK configuration.
3. It is possible to control the system from the PC by the web browser or the remote client software
program on it.
(Note) The good point to know.
Dynamic IP: The using internet line is a common wide for the user.
Since doesn’t have the fixed address, it is hard to connect from the outside.
But, it is possible if there is the server which in informing the address.
FORVR 450 supports dynamic IP as well by the separate server management.
Fixed IP: It has the specific and only IP address in the world to connect the
internet.

After the installation according to the architecture drawing, the network on the system should be set to enable
the remote cotrol and monitoring possible.
1
DHCP function
There are only dynamic IP users in the internet environment. The address is continuously changing since it
is not a static IP.
For example, if there is a house but the address is frequently changed, the mail can not be delivered in
normal way. So, whenever the address is changed, you have to ask a town office to trace it. The role of the
town office is the DHCP function.
The DHCP Server automatically traces and records the IP change whenever it can access the data. The
product, FORVR 450, operates as a dedicated DHCP server.
Notes
• The dynamic IP user selects the DHCP “ON” and connects to the following site http://www.cctvsite.net
and logs -in for the remote monitoring.(How to register membership to use is explained on the
above site).
2 IP INFORMATION SETUP
It is used when the network connection use static IP. The dynamic IP user doesn’t have to make configurations.
Fill it with ISP information provided to setup the static IP for use.
For example :
- IP ADDR: 192.168.123.51
- SUBNET: 255.255.255.0
- GATEWAY: 192.168.123.254
- DNS: 168.126.63.1
Digital Video Recorder
MANUAL
Notes
• IP Address
This is the unique name of device in TCP/IP network.
This is an expensive internet line which is normally used for servers. If you are using
a static IP, enter the IP address.
• Subnet Mask
Has 32Bit length figures to decide the number of bits used as network address in
IP address (= Address mask)
• Gateway
Used to combine protocols or different architectures of network.
• DNS
Instead of the address being composed of numbers (ex. 168.126.063.001), this makes
the connection with easily memorable letters or words like a domain.
• To input the IP, it should be done by the direction key because the numeric key is not available.
3
PORT
Configure the network port. And the changed port should be applied if the system is not connected even
after the configuration. User may consult to administrator or service provider if the port is being used by
another system or blocked at the router (factory default port: 5000).
4
NETWORK PASSWORD
This is the password setup to check the user level when connecting the network by client software or web
browser. (the authority level is different from that of the user)
ㆍ ADMIN: System access to control all the functions including Setup, Search, Control and etc.
ㆍ USER 1~3: Only allows monitoring (no access to Setup or control and etc.).
